Just got there (
to the real Yahar'gul) and realized my stroll in the park is over. The game just did a This is Spinal Tap on me and turned to whole thing to 11. No moment to catch a breath.
But it doesn't really seem to be optional.

I found out after I said that that part of it is required. However,
There's two ways into it, and depending on how you enter, there's different enemies.

Well, the suspend/resume thing is def fucking up summoning. If you plan on doing it, just close restart program like others have mentioned. It works fine now.

I cannot fucking make this jump in Cathedral Ward to get to the o
ld workshop.

when you enter the dark place, to your left there is a plank with ropes hanging down from it, jump there and you should land on a plank that is directly above the doorway

you might however die with some slight misplacement

Saw two of my screenshots. One from the beginning of the game and one after a trophy happened. I love how these games mold your character.

I honestly want to be sick to my stomach.... i got nothing from the story and all of a random sudden the game ended.. like I killed
6-7 bosses
and nothing was big in story....

I feel like throwing up

Wow, it's really possible to beat the game with that many bosses killed? I know there is a lot more than that, but they should've made much more of them mandatory.

you dont get it, every souls game I exlore everything, but I never in a million years expected I was even 20 hours close to the ending. I thought I was barely half way through and just killing bosses. I had plans of grinding, exploring, etc. All of a sudden i'm talking to an NPC and the game ends for me, forever. No option to return... gone forever. I would never, EVER, EVER, EVER, EVER, end my playthrough this early. I wanted to explore every little thing... but much to be my disgusting surprise, it ended that early....

like... wtf.... I PROMISE, I'm not trying to downplay the game, i'm just blown away and shocked... like... omg. What?!

I'm at 31 hours and just reached Byrgenwerth. I've explored every nook and cranny so far, messed around in Chalice dungeons, helped multiple people beat bosses, had a few PvP battles - basically the full souls experience.

How anybody can get through the game in 20 hours whilst enjoying everything on offer is beyond me. This experience is to be savoured for me which is why I never just bounce from boss to boss trying to each the end.

Sounds like you had a shitty deal.

Tried VA 6 times but failed. Got a helper with a bell really quick, and she was super easy. one distracts while the other attacks. Feels bad to require a helper for 2/4 bosses so far, though.

I'm having such a tough time getting the
Beast Claw
in a specific Chalice Dungeon. Anyone have luck finding this? It's the last thing I want to do before fighting the final boss.

Please explain, any links to sites explaining this?

I really wanted to ask what
ending you got. What i said was some poetic stuff about the endings
. You are in NG+ so you would have to go through things again, can't really help out more, there is stuff to explore and find out. But you can't really refund that ending you are continuing and doing more now or restarting. I can't help you with your emotional response that much so sorry.

Less bosses than in Dark Souls, but far fewer push overs.
The last boss is leagues more difficult than gwyn.

I literally wen't in every direction I could at all times. I only found those many bosses. I wouldn't be surprised if there was only 10-13 bosses in the game total, minus chalice dungeons.

Took down
vicar amelia
and
bsb
tonight!

I ended up finishing the night by
getting kidnapped and running into darkbeast paarl
. So I guess that's where I'll pick up tomorrow.

Where? What's it called?

It's very close to where we were discussing earlier.
When Patches pushes you down, go past the squid dudes and into a narrow cave. Past an enemy that can frenzy you is the item. "Messenger's Gift" is the name

Edit-

And I guess it means I went a side route. Where do I go after taking the shortcut to progress in this area?

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE message me the ending you got. I literally got NOTHING from the story. I was expecting SO much, and got absolutely nothing. I seriously killed a boss and talked to an NPC and the game ended. PLEASE, explain it to me.

I realized after it was too late that mixing forward and lateral rolls reduced my bombardment rate quite a bit. Also be really aggressive while his army is relatively small.
That really helped, finally got it. But I technically died too, didn't picked up what he dropped lol. This fucking game.

Nah man just run the trip to Amelia a couple of times and kill the giants / mobs up the stairs and you will have 20 in a few runs. Plus around 10k echoes.

Takes like 5 mins once you get it down
Sorry where exactly is this? I don't think I've done it. Is it behind the 10k blood echo pay gate?

Some areas are pretty hard to get to, a breakable window in particular fooled me for a time.

Just played around with every piece of Arcane equipment more. Abusing poor Crows and the Cane guys outside the Cathedral Ward in NG+. Not a single one of the damage ones could even kill a Crow.

Damage Items (All have S scaling):

Tiny Tonritus (25 Arc, 6 Bullets) - Shoots out a Pillar of Lightning in a straight line. Did about 443 per hit on the Crows, highest damage per hit. Has a decent range.

Augur of Ebrietas (18 Arc, 1 Bullet) - Shoots out a bunch of tentacles from you in a straight line, kind of short range, hit the crows for 233 per hit, and it has a very small knockback.

A Call Beyond (40 Arc, 8 Bullets) - It has a long and easily interruptable cast time and shoots out a bunch of Lasers from you in various directions, about 2-3 go to your locked on target. The others tend to hit absolutely nothing. I think it was doing a little over 200 per hit of the laser. Might be okay on an Arcane weak boss with a large body that all of them can slam into? Difficult and expensive to use.

Executioner's Gloves (20 arc, 3 Bullets) - Shoots out 3 Black Orbs that did around 190ish per hit on the Crows. If you're too far away when firing it off they'll just do nothing. They seem to hit as long as you're able to be locked on though.

Damage of course, isn't the same per enemy. It was doing far less to the other mobs in that area, making the damage items even more useless in general.

Non-Damage Items (No scaling except Choir Bell ):

Beast Roar (15 Arc, 2 Bullets) - Knocks enemies back, for a split second, and has an insanely short range. Useless. The stun on the Blunderbuss is much longer.

Choir Bell (20 Arc, 10 Bullets) - Heals the same amount as a Vial, but has the highest bullet cost at 10. Not sure on the Range on it for a group heal. Going by the other items, probably super short.

Messenger's Gift (10 Arc, 1 Bullet) - Turns you into a little note messenger thing with one movement speed, but doesn't actually camo you from enemies at all. PVP item? Not sure if it masks your name or not. Probably useless.

Old Hunter Bone (15 Arc, 6 Bullets) - One of the two (somewhat) useful items. It turns your Dodge into a Nightcrawler-ish Teleport. Duration is a bit short though.

Empty Phantasm Shell (15 Arc, 3 Bullets) - The second useful item. It gives your weapon an Arcane Buff like Fire and Bolt Paper, lasts about the same length as well. And like the Papers is unusable on Chikage (Katana), Blade of Mercy (Dagger/s), Burial Blade (Scythe), Rifle Spear, Tonitrus, and Logarius' Wheel. Not sure on the Beast Claw, it's the only weapon I don't have yet and haven't tested it. Does not have an "Attribute Bonus" stat, so not entirely sure if/how scaling works on it and the Papers.

So in closing, the only items I can really recommend are the Old Hunter Bone if you like the Teleport on it and the Empty Phantasm Shell for the +Arcane damage buff if you use weapons that it can be applied to. Both only take 15 Arcane and neither of them have any scaling. I cannot at all recommend the Attack Spell-Like damage items, as they do jack and shit and you are better off just buffing your weapon with the Shell for +Arcane damage on Arcane weak mobs/bosses.

Edit - I'd also like to point out that the Rosmarinus, the Arcane version of the Flamethrower, is a far better use of bullets than the Arcane "spell" items if you want Arcane damage as well.

I think there are
17
bosses not including chalice dungeons.

I somehow just found out about the chalice dungeon system while dicking around the hunter's dream. It's sounds pretty fucking amazing too.

this game has some of the most beautiful locations I've ever seen. It's unbelievable what these guys did with Yharnam.

Gorgeous game man. Sorry for the screen spam! Just uploaded nearly 160 screens lol.

REALLY wish i had a capture card. Or Sony would finally start allowing uncompressed PNG screens.

I have just tried to beat the 3rd boss (Blood-Starved Beast). Died pretty fast, but have not tried much. However, outside of the boss area I rang the bell trying to call for help... I stand there for more then 10 minutes, and no one showed up (Global ON, Password OFF). That was lame... =/

38hs in and only 4 bosses so far. :)

Spent time wandering around and playing Chalice Dungeon's. I created my first random generated dungeon and it was great but the last boss was a joke haha.
(a common wolf-man with bigger life and fire power but really easy).

Question:
I've arrived to Forbbiden Forest and Hemwick, where should I go first?

I'm level 36 and headed to 5th boss. I'm using axe+5. Is it worthwhile to use the twin stone shards to upgrade to +6? Or should I save them for any weapon upgrade? I havent seen many weapons at this point.

I ALSO DIDNT EVEN GET TO COOP ONCE. EVERY TIME I TRIED TO COOP IT DIDNT WORK, TOOK MORE THAN 10 MINUTES, OR NEVER FOUND SOMEONE/MATCHED ME WITH SOMEONE.

edit: Wow, sorry caps. On Mobile.

Pretty sure NPC hunters area actually the hardest part of this game :lol

Great sword wrecks them but otherwise fighting 2+ at a time is hard as fuck.

upgrade it yo - the first two weapon upgrade stones are really common late game (the stones that take your weapon from 0->6 for clarification)

Thanks so much for this. Just wasted 7 levels getting my arcane up to try the basic items and was SHOCKED at how high the QS cost is for some of these. I managed to deplete my entire stock of bullets just practicing in the hunter's dream. I read the item description for the arcane items and saw 'unlimited uses'. Since they're mapped to the item button, and not gun button, I didn't realize that it was consuming a certain amount of QS.

Really disappointing. Was hoping this stuff would be more viable. They need to patch out the QS requirement to make it so. Seems like that would balance out the poor attack damage at least.
