Halo 5 Guardians: #huntthetruth

Tomorrow will be mildly bananas.

Game studios are just like any IT devision of a company. A bunch of cubes/desks with 4 monitors (in this case a TV and XBO), a PC, a bunch of coffee cups, and notepads everywhere. It's still a business, just a bit more creative one.

I went to KAOS Studios before they exploded with THQ and it was a cool office, but it wasn't that much different from our IT building where I currently work. Maybe a bit more marketing (logos, game boxes, etc) around. 343 gets a bit more of that having Halo. So, I guess, imagine an IT office with a bunch of cool Halo stuff sitting around and some art up in the art department. Oh, and more interesting conference room names.

Also Tashi.

But, 343 looks like this...

"Frank, sir, the interns are requesting a meeting place, to where should I send them?"
"To 'War'. Which is what I happen to call the largest room on the first floor."

That's my all time favorite Halo trailer, so I'd be pretty stoked if so!

My preference lies with the full We Are ODST ad myself, but it's definitely a damn good piece of marketing. I remember everyone flipping out and analyzing the axles to figure out that there was a Mongoose.

I don't think anything can top Starry Night. Just look at it.

To be fair though, Starry night is not live action, it is CG.
The article said the trailer tomorrow will be live action, so not sure what to expect...

Also, while Starry night is definitely the best Halo trailer, the Halo 5 announcement at E3 2013 came sorta close....at least it was the best Halo trailer since Starry night in my opinion.

So I think 343i is capable of making a good trailer, the question is will they deliver.

I'm wondering what the reasoning is behind each weeks new release being on a Sunday as opposed to say, Saturday evening? Does having it on a Sunday promote extra chatter when everyone returns to work/school the next day etc? Only reason I ask is as a UK resident it sucks staying up til 1am on a Sunday night/Monday morning. Of course I could go to bed and catch up in the morning, but there's nothing quite like watching something go live and seeing everyone's reactions. It's a small sacrifice, one I'm happy to do, but man Saturday night would be perfect.

It's always Complain O'Clock somewhere. :p

Though, really, there'll always be a timezone that gets the cold hard shaft of Forerunner metals when it comes to global reveals, sadly.

Anything other than in game is a waste of time

No. Just.... Stop that.

I love Halo's live action ads. Halo 4's was alright, but they hit the peak so far with Reach's Deliver Hope. Before that, We Are ODST, and before that, Landfall.

Starry Night though....... <3

So we are getting a live action tailor? tomorrow?

According to IGN. But as Stinkles said earlier... Keep your expectations low and you'll end up, more often than not, pleasantly surprised or unexpectedly hyped. It's when you except way too much and need to ventpost... Well... That's why we have the GAF.

The Halo "your journey begins" E3 trailer hit me right in the damn feels. The lingering notes that play as Chief opens his hand to look at Cortana's storage chip.... Unnnf. The room was so dusty...

I'm pretty excited to see this come eaaaaarly Monday morning.
Funny thing. I never knew those were all live action until you mentioned it....they do a good job of blending the live action with CG.

Haha, me too...for the first half of it though, your wondering just what the heck the game was....and then you seen the guy open up his hand, and see Cortana's chip, and are thinking "no freaking way!"

Anyways, I went back and watched the live action trailers. Deliver Hope was amazing, but the Halo 4 one just didn't do it for me. Hope that they have learned by know what is successful and not.

What was pretty genius, I thought, was how we were all expecting a Halo reveal at some point that day anyway, but 343 snuck it in right under our noses. They did such a great job building it within that trailer up unto when Chief pulls out Cortana's chip. By that point, you're just then realizing that this is Halo, that it's Chief- so you're already getting instahyped- and then they smack ya with the lingering glimpse of Cortana's chip, and then the music swells.... It was perfectly executed. Absolutely perfect.

What? The Halo 5 Announcment trailer was an absolute failure. And the only Halo trailer in the history of Halo trailers to not get me hyped.

Doesn't even compare to the believe campaign, or ODST, or the Remember Reach campaign.

Halo 4's ads also destroyed it.

Massive disappointment.

Halo 5 ads are only just starting.

Halo 5's announcement trailer was rather lacking. War Sphinx aside, it felt like a lesser version of Halo 3's announcement trailer.
