Keep at it, and jsut keep unlocking short cuts and getting blood and leveling.
there is a madmans knowledge in the sewers to help trigger the doll to level.

I already made it to the Cleric Beast. Nearly did him first time as well but not quite. I'm just going through the opening bit again and again to level up as much as I can, but the frustration is real when I lose all of my echoes.
question people saying this (or any game with these load times) is the best game ever is offending them? good lord man...
anyway, im assuming this is the area with the famous 3 hunters, and im going to try and cheese the fuck out of them like someone suggested, this zone is the lost ivalice of bloodborne >_>
has nothing to do with getting good, already figured out you need to kill the ladies, ive gotten 2 now, its more about me thinking its a horrible design choice and ruins the zone

Having only played and given up on Dark Souls after a couple hours, there's a certain......speed about Bloodborne that makes it so much better. It definitely feels easier, too, which is probably the only thing keeping me playing.
I didn't make any progress past the

I'd advise everyone to clear Hemwick before VA. The enemies there give a lot of blood and the boss is super easy.
Highly upgraded Cannon + Bone Marrow Ash = hilarious times. *Way* more damage than any of the Arcane Items that use Bullets. Just hit the
in Forbidden Woods for 2165 with it on NG+. Can't wait till I can get my Bloodtinge up to 50 (25 atm) to see what it does. It's at +120 with a D Rank, so not sure how much it would add. Evelyn might be interesting too. It has S Rank scaling and + 94 atm, might be more efficient than the Cannon at 50 Bloodtinge, though you'd have to burn 10x as much Bone Marrow Ash.
Really wish it had a gem slot, adding one of the +Blood Damage gems to the Cannon would be so good. Evelyn does have a gem slot and slotting a +21.6% gem brings its +94 to +145 at 25 Bloodtinge.

Don't worry about the paper. Farm the route to Amelia. Great spot. You get 10k souls, blood vials and blood shards each time.I need a good route to farm fire paper and blood vials, stuck at bsb atm
A member in this thread sent me his video and he beat him without getting hit once.no consumables, just skill.

Using the Tonitrus on my 2nd Arcane character right now. Pretty cool. It's going to be this and Ludwigs on this character. Need to get an Arcane based gem for ludwig first though. I don't believe the Tonitrus needs one of such gems as it is the only weapon IIRC that comes with arcane damage as default.
It's quite nice having the arcane stat increase discovery on an arcane build. Lots of drops

Not really, no. Sorry if this sounds harsh, but if you find the game overly punishing and very frustrating, then you might simply be lacking the mindset, patience and/or skills to be able to derive some enjoyment out of it.
With that said, I'd probably still recommend you to try and push ahead, because the beginning parts of every Souls game usually lead to frustration. The game may suddenly "click" as soon as you manage to overcome an annoying boss or two.
