I just killed a
spider with a old guys head at the college on accident and he said it was unchairtably done
did I fuck up? He only dropped a higher mind thing or whatever its called.

Absolutely loving my Arcane build, more than my skill one.

Rocking Ludwig with a fire gem and Tonitrus, so I have two elements if something is resistant to one.

Using the flame sprayer instead of a gun. The gun powder that makes bullets more effective destroys with the flame sprayer.

And to boot a high arcane stat makes farming a lot easier due to discovery :D

Is the Flamesprayer good with Arcane? I thought it would be but it has D scaling. Does that ever improve?

hay guys i found the first boss but im still level 10 and there are mutiple other paths should i try kill him now or explore and level up more

Give him a go, if nothing else you'll see his attacks and have a better chance when you make a real attempt. Just don't waste things like Molotovs on him if you don't have confidence in beating him.

Always explore first. There're shortcuts everywhere so if you die to the boss, you won't have to run through the entire area again.

Enjoying
Forbidden Woods
for the most part, love how the enemy design is progressing.

However, I've now got to
Shadow of Yharnam
is that the right order? The last two bosses I beat were
Vicar Amelia and Witches of Hemwick
, I'm about level 40.

Any tips for this boss? I'm guessing take care of the
mage
first?

You are in the right order.
Bring all 3 of them to low health (you'll see why after you kill one) then kill the Mage first since he's annoying to deal with.

honestly i think i'm just too stupid/dextrously incompetent to play and enjoy these games

i had this recurring dream as a kid where i was trying to climb up this hill with my friends, and they were all climbing up it fine but i just couldn't get up it, i was too weak and too short, i couldn't pull myself up even though my friends all eventually managed it, and i kept falling down and eventually they all just walked off to have fun on top of the hill without me

that's what playing bloodborne feels like to me. everyone is playing on the top of the hill having fun while i'm struggling and failing to haul myself up the side.

You are NOT ALONE, my friend.
I am like 16 hours in and am only at Old Yharnam. I SUCK and was actually going to post something like that. This game makes me feel stupid and slow but once you progress even if it's just a little, it gives you such a rush.
I told my girlfriend when I was like 10 hours in that I was done with this game, I don't care about the money. Shit was too frustrating.

Then I beat the first boss and had this rush. Fuck From Software, what are you doing to me? I'm literally dreaming about this game and the first thing I think of when I wake up is Bloodborne.

What I am trying to say, is don't give up. You're not alone.

guys, hosting fight clubs could work. "could" because eh, online isn't really working that well now.

anyway, we just need one host and 2 people using their co-op bells. yes, co-op. if those 2 people are from a Vileblood covenant and host is Executioners (or viceversa) they will be treated as enemies. or we could just fight 1v1 with host vs the guy summoned.

level cap for pvp I think should be around 100 or 110, 125 is probably too much considering there are less stats.

So how do you get these cords and
be on track for the good ending? Can anything be missed or screwed up? I just finished nightmare frontier and have to go to the mensis place and beat the boss in the altar of despair

I'm still currently leveling up my stats, but here's some Ludwig comparisons with gems from the main game (don't have any Chalice ones yet). I'm at 30 Strength, 38 Skill, and 40 Arcane.

Physical Only Ludwig (at +10) with 2x +18% Physical ATK UP and 1x +15% ATK UP gems:

Physical ATK 200 + 440 bonus. 640 ATK on character sheet.

Now for a "Magic" Blood Gem Ludwig: ATK UP +15%, Arcane ATK UP +18% (my best one), No third gem that can actually raise Arcane damage.

Arcane ATK 200 + 240 Bonus. 440 ATK on character sheet.

They're not just not comparable, even if I had a third + ATK or Arcane damage gem. It'd only give it like another +50ish.

That gap is going to get much, much wider with 20 more points into Strength and 12 more points into Skill. Two Stats going into +damage at B is a hell of a lot more than one at A.

Even against mobs weak to elements, you're going to put out a lot more overall damage with a purely physical Ludwig with Fire/Bolt Paper or Arcane Shell buffs on it.

Just got to fight Father G. Just only need one final hit to finish him off and suddenly I was stuck between the gravestone and got punched several times with his combo..... I want to throw the controller to the screen..... @_@

I left him alive and when I was in the next zone
nightmare frontier he pushed me off a cliff into a load of poison and enemies. He's basically Patches, if you're familiar with Dark Souls

Using
music box
on Father G feels kind of cheap. I feel bad now for defeating him that way. :(

BTW, is there any point in following Viola quest line or should I just use the Red Jeweled Brooch?

They are located in various locations. Though calling it a good ending, is up for debate. Lol

Okay now I'm back
falling into my death descenting the ruined tower and trying to reach 'that' door. Where do I drop exactly? Should I try running and jumping? Can't quite make it.

I can't describe how oustanding BloodBorne is...Just beat witches and damn Every new location, Every new encounter brings me on me knees. It's not only a perfect game it's a piece of art. Constant shock and awe :)

No, you are not the only one struggling. Struggle is the name of the game here, even when you finally do make it to the top of that hill. Some may make it up faster, but the struggle is still very real for most of us.

i mean i don't mean to suggest that other people find it fine and not hard. i realise that a lot of what people enjoy about these games is overcoming the difficulty, however, despite the amount of time i've been playing and having beaten father g i can't honestly say that i really have much more of a clue about what's going on with the gameplay systems than when i started.

- monster attack patterns seem completely random. sometimes attacks will stagger them, sometimes they wont. sometimes attack chains go on for three or four attacks, sometimes they terminate after one or two. sometimes an attack sequence seems to randomly add an extra attack on the end, seemingly just to spite me for trying to anticipate it, dodge, and counter-attack.

- stunning monsters with my firearm seems to be a crapshoot (pun not intended). sometimes it succeeds and sometimes it doesn't, even though i try and time it with enemy attacks.

- i have the agility and spatial awareness of a blind goldfish. i constantly get caught on bits of scenery, dive out of the way of one monster into the attacks of another, dive into areas i get trapped in, mis-time dives, etc.

i'm just incapable of making any sense of this game. but since so many people love and enjoy it, and tell me that they 'see' things about the game that i can't understand, i can't conclude that it's the game's fault; hence, it must be a lack of skill, intelligence and dexterity on my behalf.

I'm early on but broke down and used the bell to try to get some help for the Blood starved beast. I have the little icon next to my square button item and glowing rings under me... Do I just wait now?

are you kidding me? if I thought
Rom
was bullshit before, now you have to fight him in a challice dungeon in a confined room? :/

Word. I couldn't beat either of the first bosses day one so I called it a night. Was feeling like "great, can't even beat the early bosses....oh well". Came back with a clearer head/more determined the next day and took out both one after the other.

Now I'm like 18 hours in and I've killed 5 bosses. Obviously there's still people who are far better at the games and have already completed multiple playthroughs, but that's to be expected. Once you break through the initial wall of "can I kill this boss?" the question becomes "how many bosses can I kill?"

Any tips for R
om
?
How Im supposed to beat him when
he keeps shooting me while I deal with the spiders, and when we're finally fucking a lot, he just teleports and summon more spiders.

Quick question. I found a
key last night in Yahar'Ghul that is for the Upper Cathedral.
Where the hell is that?

Right next to the Cathedral Ward Lantern
is a door that opens up on the right side at some point. At the very, very top of the area there is a locked door. That key lets you open that door.

Ready to face the first boss but cannot for the life of me get any cocktail drops.

aw man, I missed a ladder that went down some hatch in the
school? clinic? whatever that was
and now im stuck in the
nightmare
and cant get out (until I find a lantern I guess) booo

at least it feels good to be back in a normal zone >_<

also, what the fuck keeps
hitting me with red spikes out in the open
? :(

Just went back to Cathedral Ward for the first time in a while..Lots of blood on the floor and the
Prostitute
is gone, everyone else is fine..Last time I was there she looked a bit ragged..but I assumed that was because I took some of her blood.

I just killed the chain gun hunter in the dumbest way possible: climbed off the ladder, rolled forward, and started swinging until we both fell off the tower.

Dang,
Undead Giant
is the first boss to give me a hard time in chalice dungeons.

Started my NG+. Made it to BSB, with very little issue, and almost killed him on first try without healing items -- but he nailed me with the one-hit kill (guaranteed, apparantly, nomatter how much health you have). Level 88 or something. Still having a ton of fun and loving the feeling I have knowing these areas so well, and optimizing my routing and stuff.

I definitely think I'll be squeezing out every ounce of content this game has. And I'm also realizing that DLC pretty much has to happen for this game, right? I fucking hope so, cuz I can't get enough.

I think I've decided I like Dark Souls 2's health system the best. If they made the Estus Flask like Blood Vials - mapped to a specific button, and then have Blood Vials as a consumable you can collect on top of that. I think that would be perfect.

I completely ignored the
mini spiders, only rolling to avoid their jump attack. I never locked onto Rom, I just stayed by his side and slashed him and ran out when he started doing his missile attack.

Also, bring Bolt Paper if you have it. It wrecks him.

Is there something i don't understand about the weapons. I use the Saw Cleawer and Ludwig both are +7, but Ludwig has 20 higher attack and a bolt finish (stronger on paper) but yet the Saw Cleawer takes enemies out quicker.
