Red enemies in chalice dungeons make me very sad.

Make it a priority to find and kill the necromancer. They are always close, and always ringing a bell. Anything they summoned will immediately fall dead, even stuff in the process of summoning.

Yeah I know you mean. Just hit the latern and go somewhere else. Probably a couple bosses to beat before you head back there, unless you wanna farm twin blood shards.

Everyone tells me I'm not supposed to be in Yahar'gul, but I have no idea where else is open to me.

I beat BSB, and someone told me to go to the Cathedral Ward and go explore out front. So I go explore out front and all there is is a small courtyard, a crow, a cane enemy, and a sack dude. Then a staircase leads up to two more cane enemies and a gate that I can't open.

I can go out the side entrance, but that leads to the path down to Old Yharnam, which I've already finished, a couple dead ends, and another locked gate up near the giant axe wielding reaper dude.

As of right now, Yahar'gul seems to be the only place I can get to that I haven't already been to. I know I'm missing something, but I don't know what it is :(

Chalice dungeon question: If I get the materials to make a root dungeon, will I be able to keep doing it as much as I want or do you need more materials each time?

Got jealous and decided to do it myself! It's beautiful but terrifying at the same time :_:

Dammit Yoshi, use the share button!

Gotta say, I wish Sony'd give us imgur support, so that we can directly upload to imgur.

With this playthrough, I've noticed that I don't lock on to the enemy at all... rolling seems much better than evading.

Need small hint: i'm deep in the forest close to where
something is shooting/throwing cannonballs at me. I have 70k echoes and are thinking about warping back to the lamp and use the echoes before i met a boss or die two silly times. Is there another lamp in the forest
or should i save my echoes?

I think I've met the first boss where I can't figure out what I'm supposed to do.
Rom just keeps hitting me with the projectiles, I can't avoid them all no matter what way I'm running/rolling/stepping.
Maybe I just need to take a break and come back refreshed.

Materials, minus the chalice, are consumed.

Ok this is dumb. I am in my chalice dungeon and can see my friends ghost standing here but I cannot summon him
Someone said that in chalices, you don't co-op by summoning and him ringing. He needs to use the co-op gravestone. I dont know if that is true, though.

shadow of yharnam
is kicking my ass. The worst part is, I've now run out of blood vials so it's back to Central yharnam I go and then back on that huge boss run. (Yes I've unlocked the second elevator)

continue exploring the cathedral ward thoroughly. There are multiple exits from the lantern room, and there are multiple branching paths. it's an important hub. There is a lot to discover.

Anyone wanna come help me with this undead giant in the first chalice dungeon. First layer.

Already been waiting forever after ringing my beckoning bell.

I love this game but in general the game does not make it clear how to successfully stun guys with a firearm. Sometimes it seems like a clean headshot from a tiny distance before an attack just doesn't do the trick. Can every guy be stunned? Is it based on stats ever? It feels so inconsistent. One of the first big guys you fight (the one holding a one handed stone that's banging on a door), whatever sort of guy that is, I can stun them almost every try, first time, no problem. I can't figure out how to stun the bag swinging guys, if it's even possible.

Man Im SO upset that the death stains dont work in this game. Taking the fun out of what I feel is a staple of viewing people die :P

Any word on if they'll fix this?

Oh I know, Im in lorans dungeon and cant find the third.

HOLY HELL. BSB IS INSANE hahaha
90% dead, 3 tries. Ton of fun.
Gonna waste some of my 99 insight on fire paper.

aaaand, I just beat her after complaining. On my 20th attempt. ~______~

On one of my runs with her I had her down to 1% and my DualShock 4 died, because I had ignored the Battery Low notice and kept playing. I could only laugh. I had more trouble with her than any other boss, even though she should be easy.

I really wish people would stop saying there's a level 25 soft cap, because there's really not. It's a very, very minor decrease in gains and you still get a shitload of stats from 26-50. Post 50 is a *real* soft cap (not a hard cap, a hard cap means you don't get anymore gains, period) with a severe drop in stat gains.

This information - your description of it - should be added to OP

This is absolutely not possible if you are solo in Depth 5 because they spawn in pairs, each summons 4 spiders and they will have additional 2 "mid boss" guardians in the room (berserkers, werewolves, etc). You will not have the damage output to kill them before you die.

In this case lure the red summons, kill them, repeat 2-3 times and they cannot be resummoned, then pull the mid boss type enemies, then go kill the bell ringers.

Friends are trying to join my chalice dungeon but it says they don't meet the requirements. Why is that?

They not only need the chalice, they also need to have placed it themselves at least once. It's pretty stupid.

I have a few questions.

1. Is it safe to crack open the gold pendant and tear stone, or are the used for something later?
2. Is the way to
Iosef's
before or after the boss in the forest?
3. How do I customize my messenger?

Well, this
unseen
village is gonna fuck up my shit lol

On top of that, I totally forgot to FIX MY WEAPON. Im terrified of getting stuck here.

Third ending! Google the secret end. I'd suggest it.

Or all 3 via save scum for the trophies :P
Question for you:
how do blood vials work for the boss after gehlarn or whatever the fuck his name is. if i die, can i get more vials for the moon boss or do i have to fight the guy again?

man this zone is awesome, such a good way to wash the taste of
yarnhal'gul
off my mouth. cashed in my 70k souls to almost get the skill soft cap (23/25) since ive been using the blade a lot lately (Ive had the str soft cap for ages now), got me some shortcuts and gonna call it here for now.

So glad this zone is good, the previous one was really bumming me out on the game (also glad to see its mostly hated by everyone lol)

Also this zone has the brightest moon ever in a videogame, good lord

edit: I keep saying "this zone" because I dont actually know the name of it lol, its after
Micolash

Good to hear it gets better, Yahar'gul is easily one of the worst areas ever lol.
Nightmare Mensis
isn't too bad, there is one super annoying section there though too, still didn't finish the boss there yet. Excited to see the next area after your post haha. Still think my fovrite area in the game is still Forbidden Woods, level design there to me is one of the best in the series.

Wow wtf, one of those brain sucking mf'ers cheesed me. It was by a ladder and every time I got up I couldn't dodge around so it kept on grabbing me. Wow.

Lvl 4 BSB down. What an absolute joke ._. 0 items/vials used, 12 bullets used.

Please tell me where

IIRC, take the left door from the small chapel where the Cathedral Ward lantern is, take the right path (up a small set of stairs that has one of the blue lantern dudes), kill the huge dude and go up the big stairs. There's a gate up there and I'm pretty sure that's the gate you need to open.

Isn't there supposed to be a hunter where I killed VicAm? Nobody's there

Fuck rock throwing dudes. Nothing in the game has pissed me off as much as them.

I love taking those assholes out though

Haven't heard but I'll get a random one that works here and there. Not consistent at all though.
