Were the M
erciless Watchers
just kind of... standing at a corner at the top of the staircase for anyone else? I killed them so easily.

Beat
Father Gascoigne
on my second try. First time I breezed through his first two phases, but got wrecked by his massive lunge and follow up attacks. Second time I had a lot of trouble with his second phase for some reason, always healing at exactly the wrong time and just constantly getting hit. But an oil urn and 4 molotovs took care of his beast form in short order.

It was a really fun boss fight, I really like the fact that (for the most part) you don't have to worry about getting hit once or twice thanks to the regain system. As opposed to the Souls games, where I (as a not so good player) always just focused on never getting hit and therefore staying back and being cautious.

GOD BLESS YOU. I am in this part right now but I forgot the name of the place since I found a shortcut to go back to my Hunter Dream. For the last 15 minutes I've been trying different lanterns hoping to get back to it.

Do you know how close I am to the end of the game from here?

Or are you still by this part?

haha yeah I wish there was an indication of what lamp post goes where when you first unlock them. From my understanding
its an optional boss area with 2 bosses. After you kill the first one, there's a window you can break by the lamp post to get access to the second boss which is down the elevator. The first one is pretty easy. No idea about the second one. I want to believe you are really close. I have not beaten the game but near the very end. I want to finish all the optional bosses before I finish the game. Have you make it to the Nightmare Frontier?

edit:
Fuck
Martyr Logarius
seriously
I hate this guy as well. You can stagger him with charged R2 and riposte him for alot of damage.

oh so I just went back and there was another hunter going HAM at the guy
we finished him off and I got the heir rune
how cool

Mid-game Clinic question,
entered through the Forbidden Woods path and Iosefka attacked me. Killed her, got a rune. Now I'm reading killing her after Rom nets you part of the umbilical cord. Did that screw me out of something?

What's the area off to the right from Amelia Badelia and the cathedral? I went down there and killed two hunters but then bailed because it felt like I was going somewhere out of my league. I talked to someone I the
forbidden forest
that seemed to be referencing this area so I'm thinking it's optional? Should I go back now or later? I'm level 49.

Hardest boss BY FAR is
Ebrietas, Daughter of the Cosmos
on ng+ and no way i am ever gonna beat this boss, keep getting insta killed at the end

99 insight!? Where do you acquire that number from?

I've killed 3 bosses and got about 10... found about 7 madman's knowledge... but it goes quick when I pay a visit to the messengers.
I have 90 agreeing buying out the messengers. Chalice Dungeons give you 2 per boss. Clear 10 of those and you get 60 insight.

There are four umbilical cords in the game You need 3 for the special boss. You can still do it.

Yes I did the same on my first playthrough. There's a total of 4 and you only need 3 so you might still be good.

Parry. It's the easiest fight in the game if you can get the visceral attacks off. Just dodge his initial projectile, then shoot him after he's raised his scythe to his left for about half a second. Rinse and repeat. He never varies this if you stay close.

Net code in co-op is rather iffy isn't it? I've been helping people in
Old Yharnam
, and it seems like BSB teleports in co-op when it charges. I swear that never happened when I did it myself solo.

Something is weird/glitchy? about this Tonsil Stone sidequest. After a certain point, you will be given this stone no matter which window/door npc you talk to, even the little girl's window will have a man voice talking to you regarding about it. Not sure whether it's a glitch or a intentional by From in terms of lore reasons or people will miss it out on it easily.

:
I send the dude to the Chapel, and noticed he's a killer. Now I want to kill him back but he dissapeared from the Cathedral. Anyone knows where he is? Scared to send more people just for the dude to reappear
Should have send him to the clinic. He kills people in the chapel if you send him there. If you send him to the clinic, he gets what's coming to him and makes getting the beast rune much easier.

So, what's the point of defeating D
arkbeast
P
aarl
?
I knew he was optional, but he opens a pointless short cut(I don't even think we can call it that) and allow you to buy the Tonitrus, which you could find in the same area before defeating him! One of the worst bosses in the series, up there with Royal Rat Authority, and there no real reward for defeating him!

erm so what the fucking fuck
pottering about, and then suddenly at the spot where f
ather gascoine is
a random person comes out of nowehere and fucking destroys me

was I just invaded? they looked like a hunter
does it not tell you?

Yeah happened to me too. Just finishing a farming run so wasn't paying attention - that area should have been clear. This guy just runs up and twats me hard. Tried killing him several times but he is super hard so I just ran away and and never going back.

That boss is pretty easy to cheese, just get up In its grill as close as you can and it has a hard time hitting you.

Haha thank you once again I just beat the first boss and had no clue where to go now.

The cannon is amazing, lol did 780+ damage at the end.

I used the Seath the Scaleless strategy. Circle around her near her butt and dodge when necessary (roll twice for ground charge). Whittle away at her health. Punish the head slam. Improvise if she does magic or a flying charge.

I'm so completely fucking demoralized right now. I beat the BSB this morning, opened the first chalice, and promptly spent the next 2 hours wiping dozens of times to the undead giant. I just can't fucking do anything. I've read posts about it, It's supposed to be a relatively easy fight and most of my friends didn't have a hard time, and I just don't get it. Sometimes I do the big chunk of damage from breaking the thing on his leg, but then I'm still doing like 100-200 damage a hit and constantly having stamina issues from having to dodge all the god damn time. It's a god damn nightmare and I'm not having any fun at all.

I beat him by forward dodging and immediately charging my hammer for a single heavy attack. Once you get the pattern down, it should be enough.

Yep, but now I want to kill him but he's gone from the Chapel! He'll be back? Maybe its causw I got the weird night looking time.

I went back straight away
and there was another hunter there going after him
spoke to her after the fight (she did most of the damage) and she said she was the one that hunts bad hunters or something to the affect
How on earth is it one of the worst bosses? It looks super amazing, has a cool moveset?... I don't get this post at all.

She was already there when I first encountered him. As 'you died' came up on the screen, I could see someone else fighting him. By the time I got back to him, she wasn't there and I suddenly got a ton of souls so I assume she was killed :/

Anyone know about what level I should be to take on
Martyr Logarius?

I'm 57 now, but I can barely scratch him and he hits like a truck. I even tried summoning somebody, but the two of us couldn't get to 50% before he died and I left.
