ROM
DEFEATED!

It took me 4 tries. On the last try I just said "fuck it" and
just spammed r1 at Rom, ignoring the spiders. Of course, I waited until there was a clear opening for me to run in

Google
clinic forest shortcut
, youtube is your friend.

what a snarky reply, you could say the same thing about any of the things people ask here :/

anyway, just went down the ladder that I missed in the
lecture building
, turns out not only is there a big ass zone down there with lots of stuff, the "door to outside" actually leads to a different zone,
Nightmare Frontier
... was I supposed to have come here first? O_o

Ive been doing
Nightmare of Mensis

I invade pretty consistently in the Nightmare Frontier, though BB's current network/matchmaking state is absolute shite.
true but we could at least try. should be fun if it works.

where's GAFpvp at

It depends on your weapon.

2H axe/greatsword build=face-roll everything in this game.
1h crap? LOL, good luck with your range and stagger.

Seriously, you can out range almost everything with thrust/overhanded R2/L2.
uh, no.

it depends on your skill and build. with a good build and some skill you can 'face-roll' enemies with pretty much any weapon.
also the range doesn't really mean much in this game, (and 1H weapons like cane or spear have a good range, if not the highest range) most of the bosses are much easier if you're close to them. so yeah, no.

Does anyone know the significance of setting this... thing on fire in Old Yharnam?

rCU9Hx8.jpg
wow didn't know that you could do that. pretty neat

probably lore-related, have you ever noticed how weird it's the fact that bodies are still burning in Old Yharnam? You can even see the smoke. it's the old city, all of that probably happened years/centuries ago. (although I doubt that those 2 hunters there are 100+ years old)
no idea what it means but just saying

Okay someone please tell me what i got screwed on, i just defeated the blood thirsty beast, but his poison killed me before i could search his body?

what did the Beast have on his body, am i screwed?

since when i went back around his body disappeared

I keep seeing people say that
Amygdala
is an easy boss. How though? I found it pretty easy but that's because I mostly shot it to death. I didn't there get close to it after its first phase. It goes crazy.

The grinding you have to do in Chalice Dungeons suck but honestly the boss fights are so awesome. Really hard some of them but feels good when you finally do it
Yeah it's pretty cool when you get to a boss, but before that it's pretty dull. One of the Chalice's splits your health in half its brutal lol the bosses wreck.

I've taken my sweet ass time and I'm almost 40 hours into the game. Don't see the point of rushing through it, length wise I'd say it's similar to Demons Souls. Which is a good thing, DS1 last third was such a drag.
I think that was more because of the areas than the length thougfh. Giants tomb and Dukes Archives were fun. Lost Izalith and New Londo just weren't fun.

so after getting to the end of the game I can say that dogs/demon dogs are my most feared enemy, hate running into more than one

Okay, anyone have any stat suggestions? I'm currently using Ludwig's Holy Blade and my stats are:

VIT 30
END 40
STR 25
SKL 25
BLD 7
ARC 6

Any suggestions on where to go next? I'm thinking I'd like to start using the Scythe when I can, should I keep pumping SKL?
Go for 50/50 on Skl/Str, maybe some Vit on the way as well.

Sorry, wasnt trying to be snarky, I said that because it's actually really hard to explain where the shortcut is over a message vs a youtube video :/

You beat all
16 bosses
in 25 hours? Wow.

Did you explore at all?...

I explored but brobably skipped a few secret/optional bosses. I tend to skip spoilers or wiki for the first playthrough.

Beeting the bird huntress in the vicar church was time counsuming. She could kill me in two hit.

I have no idea how From could fuck up so much with a glitch like this.

Not only can I not refill my bullets over 20 (even though 99 is max in storage), I also can not buy any fire paper over 10. I can't put anything in the storage... like, nothing happens. They stay in my bag.

this happened to me. did you make a new character? try deleting them or removing/putting stuff into their storage, and emptying as much as you can from yours, than putting something back in. fixed it for me.

God, I don't know why SOY is giving me so much trouble, but it's really starting to get on my nerves. I can usually get it to the 3rd stage (the 1st stage is easy-but-boring as long as I don't get stunlocked, the 2nd is fine if I don't fall for the katana guy's stretchy attacks too often), but the giant snakes always wreck me. Any tips or strategies?

My kill order is
Mage>Katana>Candle

Maybe I should just grind a few levels of V and E.

Order I went with was
Katana>Candle>Mage
and made it through first try.

I'll work on annotating my video, but in the meanwhile I'd say roll continuously when the
giant snakes
are summoned and then put in a strike or two on the last guy in between.

Red Jeweled Brooch

does the
pig in the sewers
respawn? I
havent given Viola the broach yet, but have already killed the pig earlier.
. am I still able to get the
blood soaked ribbon?

So any reason to hang on to tons of insight? Bosses are getting a bit out of hand 50+ and I can no longer one shot them on the first try :(

Should I buy stuff to lighten my load? It seems everything went from wanting to kill me with their bare hands to straight up wasting no time to try and murder me with the kitchen sink. I did notice enemies change patterns as I kept going up in insight. Most melee are now super fast, rarely any downtime when I strike them, they can cast spells, fireballs, arcane.

I watched a few boss vids on The One and damn he's only using barely a few of the attacks that he uses when I fight him.

Am I making this harder than it needs to be? Should I buy some stuff using insight?

OH ITS THAT FUCKING CAVE!

I saw that cave but the zone was so big I completely forgot to go back and check it lol

talking about
forbiden woods
that is

So I just killed
Rom.
It said
Contract broken
or something similar.
Woke up in that one cathedral. Looked up, saw whatever the fuck that cthulu looking motherfucker is staring at me
and shut the game off. What the absolute fuck did I just see? :(

Based on my first playthrough and experience, boss difficulty from hardest to easiest:

Kicked my ass:
1. Ebrietas, Daughter of the Cosmos

Challenging:
2. Martyr Logarius
3. Rom, the Vacuous Spider
4. Gehrman, the First Hunter
5. Father Gascoigne
6. Vicar Amelia
7. Cleric Beast

Easy:
8. Moon Presence
9. Blood-Starved Beast
10. Shadow of Yharnam
11. Micolash, Host of the Nightmare
12. The One Reborn
13. Mergo's Wet Nurse

Pushover:
14. Amygdala
15. The Witch of Hemwick
16. Celestial Emmisary

Didn't even hit me:
17. Darkbeast Paarl

someone needs to grab how much souls each drops and rank them that way, a la Demon's, be curious to see how From ranks them in its own way

If you ignored optional areas you missed some really cool bosses and one of the best areas in the game.

Byrgenwerth hostile hunter is getting me badly, game up to this point have been going without any major hiccups but this one is one shotting me, any advise? D:

I used the cane. Wait for her to attack and miss and then blast with R1 attacks until your stamina is done, repeat. It's also easier if you take it outside to that platform behind the locked door.

I don't believe for one second that someone who plays this on the first go, without guides, even knows which bosses are story and which bosses are optional. I see enough people in this thread getting stuck after the first 4 bosses, and they all ask for help where to progress to. After Amelia, you have to be lucky as shit to go in the right direction to advance the story, if you even find the door to
Forbidden Woods
. There are so many other paths leading to so many other bosses.

So I just killed

It gets weirder... And more disturbing :(

Yes.
You just need to use the 3 umbilical cords and unlock the true final boss, then die to it. You will be able to buy it without going into NG+

I have the third. is there a guide for the other 2?

Now Im noticing (NPCs) in late story progresion?
no one answers me through the doors, I guess it's cause of the red moon?
I wanted to recruit NPCs on the Chatedral :(

Btw the game is starting to get weird now
I'm hearing random baby cries.
Creepy as fuck.

I beckoned for help and was summoned to someone else's game (it failed when I arrived) in the forbidden woods?

Am I fucked for that key?

Nope.

Is that the only way to get there? How do I get captured?

I'm in Forbidden Woods atm

Ah yeah, it's a ways from where you are. You'd have to go
back to the Cathedral district, walk outside, die to a certain enemy, and then get captured, escape...
.lol it would take you a while is what I'm saying, so don't worry about it! :)

I rang it once and didn't connect to anyone and the key was still there.

Spoilers for right after the boss you're at: You go straight forward, into the building ahead of you, fight a hunter, up a ladder, and if the item isn't on the table up there, you're boned.

Unfortunately there's no way to know until you beat the boss you're at, and fight your way through a fairly decent section of the next area. :(

I'm pretty sure that just like in the Dark souls games time is
is standing still and the night of the hunt have going on for fucking ages, of course this is all speculation because i haven't finished Bloodborne. But then again the city becomes night at one point so i dunno what the fuck is going anymore
