Fuck you, w
itches.
Fourth try. That grab is DEADLY.

It depends on your weapon.

2H axe/greatsword build=face-roll everything in this game.
1h crap? LOL, good luck with your range and stagger.

Seriously, you can out range almost everything with thrust/overhanded R2/L2.

Up through Vicar I've had better look using the Saw Cleaver on bosses. Especially Vicar. I died 4 times trying with Ludwig's Sword (tried it 2 handed and 1 handed) and didn't get her health down past half. Switched to Saw Cleaver and beat it in one try with only using 3 or 4 vials. Both were at +4 with gems equipped. I just find it easer to roll around bosses and wail on their backs with R1 attacks with the Cleaver.

Ludwig's swords is amazing for all the big enemies around the Cathedral Ward though.

I'm a bit disappointed at the longevity of the main story. Completed it yesterday in 25 hours. Got in the final area at lvl 40 gone through Cainhurst castle lvl 50 and invaded a few times before beating the game at lvl 60.

If i hadn't played through the dungeon, completed some quests and helped others with bosses it would have been a 12 hours adventure game.

I think we will see 2 hours speedruns pretty soon.

Byrgenwerth hostile hunter is getting me badly, game up to this point have been going without any major hiccups but this one is one shotting me, any advise? D:

I relied on gun parry. Make sure you avoid the arcane magic thing. Those do tons of damage. Those take time so you will have enough time to avoid those. Also make sure you stay not too far away from him so he doesn't use the magic as much. I used close range weapon so when I got hit I mashed attack to regain health. I don't know if you have Tonitrus but it was the weapon I used and it was quite effective. But the main chunk of the damage was done from parrying. Once you successfully parry and do riposte, stay close and attack him when he wakes up as well.

I keep DYING!!!
And I'm only at the road with a lot of monsters and a fire, and some of them have shotguns and there's one wolf - all on the main street, and a few to the sides. I'm coming from Central Yarnham.

I don't know what to do. Frustrating. :(

That whole beginning section is designed to teach you to NOT take them all on. There should be clues to kind of sneak around or peel them off in smaller manageable groups.

Youve skipped atleast two :D

Fuck hahahahah
Ok, so I retraced my step and, suddenly, the door to O
ld Yarham
opened =D
I got the motherfucker with the
gatling gun
down thanks to a kind note on the stairs <3 and killed the
hunter
there! My first one <3 Too bad the loot was nothing special.

Now I'm exploring the area and am scared to shit because I can't find a lantern to light and upgrade ><

Hmm, took me less than 3 mins killing her. I rolled like 2-3 times.
Charged attack=stun.
She can't even move, and was just sitting there begging for death.

You beat all
16 bosses
in 25 hours? Wow.

Did you explore at all?...

I've made so much progress today. Started at
Hemwick Charnel Lane
, beat the boss there, moved onto the woods, beat those guys, went through
Byrgenwerth
and was creeped out and loved it. That boss was easy and now the
Moon is orange
and I've moved onto what I hear is an optional
Cainhurst Castle.
I'm absolutely loving everything.

I've taken my sweet ass time and I'm almost 40 hours into the game. Don't see the point of rushing through it, length wise I'd say it's similar to Demons Souls. Which is a good thing, DS1 last third was such a drag.

Did you rush through or something?

I'm at 21 hours and have beat 5 bosses....level 44. And I feel like I've been progressing quickly, only Cleric Beast and Amelia gave me much trouble.

Already a 40 minutes speedrun. Wouldn't be surprised to see it cut further of that is what speed runs are doing less than a week in.

I have no idea how From could fuck up so much with a glitch like this.

Not only can I not refill my bullets over 20 (even though 99 is max in storage), I also can not buy any fire paper over 10. I can't put anything in the storage... like, nothing happens. They stay in my bag.

One thing it took me a while to realize in this game is that while enemies are quicker than in Demon's/DS, your side step is so fast that you don't have to dodge reactively. You can approach enemies and just dash to their sides and R1-combo them before they've had a chance to attack. Figuring that out made enemies like werewolves, hostile hunters, etc. so much easier.

God, I don't know why SOY is giving me so much trouble, but it's really starting to get on my nerves. I can usually get it to the 3rd stage (the 1st stage is easy-but-boring as long as I don't get stunlocked, the 2nd is fine if I don't fall for the katana guy's stretchy attacks too often), but the giant snakes always wreck me. Any tips or strategies?

My kill order is
Mage>Katana>Candle

Maybe I should just grind a few levels of V and E.

Okay, anyone have any stat suggestions? I'm currently using Ludwig's Holy Blade and my stats are:

VIT 30
END 40
STR 25
SKL 25
BLD 7
ARC 6

Any suggestions on where to go next? I'm thinking I'd like to start using the Scythe when I can, should I keep pumping SKL?

Late boss spoilers.
I feel kinda bad for helping people with
Logarius
. There's nothing wrong with needing help if you're stuck, but the last few people I helped didn't even attempt the boss before they summoned.

Holy Blade is my jam.

Man, fuck that
gatling gun NPC
. I'm struggling to get past the
hunter
in
Old Yarnham
because of him. :(
He usually likes to come running up the stairs towards you. Take the axe to his ass before he can even make it fully up them. Actually, he doesnt even go all the way to your level. And then you wont have to fight him in the gunners view.

Or just walk slowly while their back is to you and go for an R2 charge, stun, and visceral attack.

I beat
Cleric Beast
and
Father Gasbag
quite easily, but I'm having problems with BSB.

Anyone think the enemy encounters so far are a little sparse? Going from Demon's Souls to Dark Souls I/II, you can see a progression as the worlds and enemies go together very well. With Bloodborne, I feel it's more heavy on atmosphere than actual combat. But I'm still early in the game.

Seriously guys, where the fuck do I need to go in Y
ahar'gul
? I've
killed the hunters and am running through the streets with all the crawling skeleton masses. I entered some bath thing, and I've revisited the prison too.
Where the hell is the boss?

Yeah I tried parrying, never really got the timing right, oh well just go at it I suppose, thanks

So in the cathedral ward there's this place where
just after you go out of the cathedral to the left, if you go around the edge of the area, a weird blue sphere starts to appear, and if you let it a meter fills up, and then I got lifted way up in the air, and then all of a sudden I was on the ground at the entrance to the area.

What even happened? Is this a thing that will become clear later or a bug?

What.... What have I done....

Oh, its still possible?

There's a really nice rune from her that requires a ridiculous secret that should have taken a long time for the community to find out, had one of the guys working on the strategy guide not given so generous a hint.

Look it up if you're interested. It's the Moon rune (highest quality).

The grinding you have to do in Chalice Dungeons suck but honestly the boss fights are so awesome. Really hard some of them but feels good when you finally do it
