Is it normal for bloodstains to disappear when you turn off the game? And if so that's a really dumb feature that just lost me 15k souls. :(

oh btw remember when I first got
Ludwig
and didnt like it (dispite playing DS1 and 2 with
greatswords
?)

yeaaaaaaaaaaaaah... that thing is a motherfucking MONSTER now that I have 25 str / 25 skill and its +9. so, the million dollar question, how do I get the item to make it +10?

sorry kirkhammer :(

Quoting myself to show things I've added to my little guide, and to promote it. (I will keep adding things if/when I think of them.
Just to make certain of one thing, coop is only possible through the makeshift altar? Is it possible at all to load a pthumera chalice and use the beckoning bell to find a friend?

Holy shit this is nuts, so I beat *SORT OF MID GAME INTO END GAME SPOILERS*
Rom the Vacuous Spider and If I am reading the cutscene right the Old Ones have come down and possibly the child has already been born, meaning pretty much everything is about to get fucked in Yharnam because they are going to wipe it out into nothing before moving onto the next town. The spawn of Amygdala(spider cthulhu monster) are all over the buildings, crazy red moon, bell ringing maidens everywhere in Yathargul. Trying to find Paarl at the moment since I haven't fought him yet, and I assume I am moving towards the endgame right now. The implications of the lore and story right now are really interesting and I absolutely love how they've taken Lovecraft's work and turned into this incredible game that is more faithful to his work than the games, movies, and books that actually use his work. I also need to find Cainhurst but I have no fucking clue where to begin.

I've read plenty of notes from Yahargul from my stay earlier in the early game, it sounds like they sacrifice the newborn and somehow an old one is reborn. This in and of itself is the most Lovecraftian thing ever.

I also beat the shit out of that hunter in the Grand Cathedral that happens to also have nearly killed Eileen the Crow(I have her set now lol although I need to farm for BoM).

Hunter fights in this game are actually tougher than the bosses IMO, the bosses are great though, fantastic even and there's a few that even subjected my expectations.

Poor Gilbert though, the old ones have no mercy. This is what happens when you start fucking around with things that are so far outside your understanding that they literally control the cosmos and dreamscape, despite their limitations.

This fucking game! close to 60-70 hours now, and quickly approaching the 80 mark similar to my DS1 playthrough.

Although, unlike Dark Souls I can see myself replaying this.

So after beating
Blood Starved Beast
I go down from the chapel to the next area, beat the beast guarding the door, advance, and find some big scary looking guy who uses a sack as a weapon,
Death Dealers
I think they are called, I die, naturally, and I wake up in a completely unexpected place WTF.
I then spend the next 2 hours getting my ass kicked by sack guys and throat cutting grandmas in a completely random place, after cheesing through two sack guys I find a way out of it, only to reach a suspiciously large open area which suddenly reminds me THERE'S NO FUCKING FOG WALLS for first time boss encounters in this game, that's when a huge ass lighting wolf whatever monster beast comes out and beats the. shit. out. of. me, I couldn't even fucking touch it. At my wits end, and wondering what the fuck is going on, I check out a guide and find I'm in an area I'm not supposed to be until the end of the game, but luckily there's a lamp near the spawn area. This fucking game...

Well, wasn't expecting that. Went into fight V
icar Amelia for the first time, and it was fine, she did some damage, but I was keeping up and managed to get her down to half health. Then I remembered I had some fire paper I should probably use.... The last half of her HP just melted....

One more time: (this thread is too fast!):
Stake Driver worth it?

I like it but I might be biased cause it's the pile driver from Armored Core.

One of its best advantage though is that in regular mode it hits fast and costs little stamina so you can keep hunters in hit stun till stamina empties, shoot them, and go back to hitting them.

Fuck, stucked at V
icar
A
melia
.
Can't read her movements at all, and i get tricked everytime she does the leap forward.
Plus the cane does little damage, while the spear is too slow :/

Tips for the
spider?
. I dont have issues getting big damage on him but after he goes down by 50 percent the fight just becomes a random shitfest.

It's not random,
he has three phases.

P1. He drops a group of spiders but he himself is harmless, kill the spiders, regenerase your stamina and unload on him.

P2. He is now an active participant in the fight, he has three spells dependant on your range. If you're at a far range he uses a shard rain that will lock onto you and drop shards from the air onto you. Mid range he will flop on his back and cause shards to burst from the ground in a circle around himself. Close range he will either flip on his back or charge up and explode dealing massive damage. All damage from spells are arcane. Once again kill the spiders while dodging his moves. Lock onto ine spider at a time dash behind them and slash a few times before dashing away. Other spiders may dive bomb, just dodge and usually they will die in one hit when exposed. After killing the spiders focus your attention on him. Pull a combo and watch for the signs he going to cast an AOE, dodge out of range, then come back in and unload.

P3. Same deal as P2 but now he also flails sometimes when you are close dealing physical damage and casts much more frequently. Once again kill the spiders. Then the boss.

Good Luck!

Anyone try going back to Dark Souls 2 after playing some Bloodborne?

I had to adjust back to the slow ass dodge rolls... and holy shit does my character feel very heavy even without anything on.

How do I kill this
hunter
by Grand Cathedral. I killed the one that has
electricity
but the other one with the
long spear and shotgun
just does not let me get close without shooting me in the face.

Use
Fire Paper if you have some and watch her just melt. At least she did for me.

You can pull them seperately.
I carefully pulled the first one, killed it, and then killed the second. The shotgun one was so annoying, kept dodging, lol.

Anyone know what the "ritual chamber" at the end of the right path leading to boss 4 is? I had to kill 2 hunters and some other enemies on the way there.

Also have to start grinding for blood vials since I'm down to 5 and don't want to buy them at the shop knowing the price increases. The mobs in Yarnham used to give me a ton but now I barely get any.

Blood Echoes can now be eaten by enemies in the area. If they aren't where you last died chances are you will have to kill an enemy with glowing eyes.

I'm pretty sure it's either a bug/glitch or something new they changed. I have had two bloodstains disappear after logging out of the game (and/or shutting off the PS4) on boss fights. So either bosses can also eat your blood echos or it's a bug. So if you die on a boss a lot, keep at it or you'll lose your blood echos if you turn off the PS4! lol

So father g is whooping my ass when he gets to his second form..I stunned him once with the gun, but he hit me at the same time and couldn't get off the stab or whatever it's called. What's a good strategy for his second form?

How to open a locked door at the top of the tower you enter through the door in Cathedral Ward on the right side from the lantern?

So i'm at 84 and pretty happy with my character so far, i'm helping people at
Logarius
with 2 runes that make enemies drop more souls, don't know if it works on bosses but i'll try now. Gonna sacrifice a few points in stuff to get 15 arcane for the item
Old Hunters Bone
. Soo fucking cool.

Current stats
vit: 30
end: 25 (i do however use runes that give me better stamina, so i'll probably stay here)
str: 30
skill: 30
blo: 9
arc: 10

I'll probably stay at 100 since that seems like the most active spot for pvp. Probably gonna make a new character soon since outside of looking fashionable as shit, my character is pretty ugly.

Anyways, How is ng+? Some people seemed to be dissapointed.

Go to the area where you fought micolash, there will be a locked gate. You should have found the key during the fight. There will be a giant brain that frenzies. If you are quick enough you can drop down in front of it and loot the rock. If not, you need to take the last elevator from the top to the middle with the broken gate. During the elevator ride, there will be a window you can jump into. At the end of that path you can kill the brain thing.

Well after searching I found the first boss and after 4 attempts I'm just destroyed. I don't remember the bosses being this difficult at the start but once he
transforms into a beast he just utterly destroys me. How the hell are you supposed to dodge, hit and not get hit?

A glitch or something, same thing happened to me at the same boss. I lost 14000.

Just to make certain of one thing, coop is only possible through the makeshift altar? Is it possible at all to load a pthumera chalice and use the beckoning bell to find a friend?

It's possible to both load the same chalice and connect, but I have only managed it when we both use the same glyph, even on an unrandomized dungeon. I wish the Short ritual chalice had been made available from the start. I have not successfully connected in the Lower Pthumeru Chalce, for example, when I tried to with a friend who was in the same dungeon but had a different glyph, even though both dungeons were exactly the same. Co-op is still a bit spotty though so it's hard to say for sure what works exactly.

Is there a point in the game when I can't go to Cainhurst Castle? I'm holding off going there for now.
Is there a lore discussion thread?

I think there's a lot to talk about, but need a lot more people to piece it together.
I think there should be a thread about the lore. I've seen a bunch of lore threads (specifically one for Halo), and I'd love to see everyone's thoughts and opinions on the story behind this game.

So father g is whooping my ass when he gets to his second form..I stunned him once with the gun, but he hit me at the same time and couldn't get off the stab or whatever it's called. What's a good strategy for his second form?
He's easy to riposte with your gun in that form. Don't run too far away or he'll leap on you so if you need to heal I'd run all the way up the stairs.

Molotov's and Oil
make the second form easy if you want to take that route.

Actually there's a unique thing I discovered about this fight that trivializes it:

If you hit Rom in the side, that's his weak point, the baby spiders have the same weakpoint. I was running up to the side of those little bastards with my Hunter Axe and one shot killing them. I found it hilarious that the boss and the spiders share the same weakness.

Is the gunman on the rooftop in Old Yharnam way overpowerd? Fought him once but his health wouldnt go down.. Lvl 22 btw
If you want a cheap method,
knock them off lol. I did that without even intending to cheapen the fight. >.<

It's worth noting you don't have to kill them though, You can make him friendly if you do something specific.

Tonitrus is such a good weapon. Damage output and speed is insane.

Yeah I really like it. Luckily I found it before ya know. So I didn't pay. But you do need to charge it up every now and then though. But that looks boss.

And the R1 -> L1 combo is just very good imo.

So...I have a LOT of souls on me.

What do you mean? The dude is shooting at me trough the whole level
