You have to be willing to occasionally dump half your earnings from a boss kill into vials. I only ran totally dry when fighting M
icolas
h.

Wait whaaaaa? Micolash put up a fight for you? That dude pretty much played Hide and Seek with me for a few minutes, then ran into a room where he just let me beat him up, with him only using some tentacle punch that had a bit of range. Micolash felt like Pinwheel from DaS in that he was a joke? I wonder if it's different for others or if Insight has something to do with that fight now, it was a strange one.

Got the first 2 bosses down. #1 or #2
Father G
was a pain in the ass in their 3rd form.

Question about the tiny music box. I went back to the person that gave it to me and told them about the Cathedral without having found their mother yet. Well I found their mother now but they're not in the house and they're not at the catehdral? Did I get them killed D:?

Oh and can someone explain how summoning works? I just got the item to call people but what if I want to be called? I assume in another boss or 2?

His explosion attack in phase two kept wrecking me in one shot
. Probably doesn't help that he came at the the end of an ~8 hour session when I had like four hours of sleep..

So (ending unlock spoilers)
have I locked myself out of finding the true final boss? I didn't look at the requirements earlier because I was afraid of seeing spoilers I didn't wish to see in the notes, but now that I've looked, I'm wondering if it's even possible. I sent Ariana to the cathedral, which is also where I sent a guy who apparently killed everyone there (still not sure on this?) and I killed Iosefka before Rom, so I have 0 cords at the moment. Guess I'll just have to youtube it :(

Doll ingame model spoilers:
when adjusting the camera angle so that you can see inside her head, you can see that there are scars and a small face painted onto her eyeballs. Someone had fun modelling her.

Just do NG+, shouldnt take long :P

No.

How to get it:
After defeating the boss of cainhurst, put on his crown and walk to his throne. You will unlock the new area which has a cainhurst summons item. Give it to Alfred (priest before the Forbidden woods password door).

First the video to the key, now this? I think I love you strange user with a devil name

Anybody been sticking to the saw cleaver relatively deep into the game? Wondering what people's thoughts are on its viability even as you get toward the middle of the game.

Every single weapon is viable if you invest in them. There's no "wrong" answers or bad weapons. If you like the moveset on the Saw Cleaver then just keep using it and upgrading it.

And raising both your Strength and Skill up is good for all of the weapons regardless of their Scaling grade, except for two of them. Blade of Mercy only uses Skill and Logarius' Wheel only uses Strength.

Yeah that's true, just meant the general concept of it.

But, again, it's SO easy to farm them, it's pointless to do that to me.

I think the best thing about vials is the fear of respawning with 0 vials. But then yeah, easy blood vial farm routes kind of erase this fear.

I think a decent compromise would be to have both a nerfed Estus and lower vial cap while making vials harder to get. Basically make vials bonus healing item but if you're good you can get by with just the Estus?

I thought this was going...somewhere else :3

Farming is simple and resource efficient.

ACCEPT IT BREH

I have no issues farming in general, but I do question the design decisions around it for this particular case. I feel Estus flasks was a better system for managing health. Also, farming in previous Souls games was more efficient, clear out an area, sit at bonfire and repeat. Now it is, clear out an area, load into Hunters Dream, load back into area and repeat. Ridiculous.

Use the music box when he is in Beastmode, it will stagger him for like 5 seconds. Go behind, do an R2 charged attach followed by a visceral. If he isnt dead by then, throw a molotov cocktail and he will be.

I BEAT HIM! Thank you so much Orthogonal! I really appreciate your tip it helped me out so much!

Aww man I jacked up badly.
I followed the way from Cathedral Ward and finally found Old Yarnham (Yay!). Went exploring to the right side of the path eventually rolled over the roofs until I got to the path that leads to the long ladder up the tower.
However, now I believe I am stuck down here and can't get out. Any ideas?

I thought the spoiler would be something way different.

Seems like kinda of a shame that they withheld some bosses for the Chalice Dungeon from the main game. Seems like a lot of people are going to miss out on some unique bosses.

I've been walking around with 40+ insights for ages btw, I stopped giving any fucks lol. Ludwig says bring it

After 20 minutes of waiting to summon someone for Rom what happens? I get rushed by 4 spiders and then stun-locked to death 50 seconds into the fight.

Damn adds I swear.

I think the adds are supposed to mimic the boss movements so if you juke the boss the adds usually turn too slow to react.

Got my blades of mercy omg those things are fast. Need some more blood chunks. I've got them to +6 with A in skill scaling. Plus my cane is +8 with A in skill scale. Love the cane and blades combo. Still trying to figure if I kike it single handed or transformed into the 2 daggers. When they are daggers those things are insanely fast

That's what I have been doing the past couple of times I tried to fight him and it's usually his AoE attack that kills me, not the spiders. I just messed up in that last one lol.

How likely / easy is it to get a blood rock in chalice dungeons? Would love to put my kirkhammer at +10 before finishing the game :(

I know there is one in story but that's for Ludwig :)

That's true too. I'm still not sure I get the design around not being able to sit at a lantern to respawn enemies.

The only edge I really see is that you can activate a lantern and will respawn there on death without bringing enemies back in the area, if that would even really be considered one.

have we got a lore thread for this?
dark souls lore was great to read, but I havent seen much about bloodborne, either in this thread or the game

Does Insight do something negative? I've seen guys with new attacks, but I assumed that was it- that and the, ah, new things you can see. It doesn't increase difficulty?

I'm sitting at around 90 at the moment.

In my first playthrough, Iosefka was aggro the moment I stepped in her clinic. Is there a way to avoid this in my next run or is it supposed to happen?
