After a certain point on the game, fire paper is available from both merchants(1 insight for 1). I think you need the badge from Gatling gun guy in Old Yharnam. Antidotes became available for sale as well, forgot what triggers it. But the hooded enemies in Old Yharnam also drop them.

And wow we're gonna hit OT3 by tomorrow I guess.

Thanks. Damn this boss.

Omg, after four hours losing to r
om
i take a 30 minute break, come back and beat him first try with 0 vials left and almost no health. God damn.

Fuck the forbidden forest boss fight. I can't beat this assholes and apparently there is a glich that ruins the game if you summon someone there. :(

Anyone want to help with
Shadow of Yharnam
boss fight? I'm in front of the entrance.

Tried it once and just barely lost.

Is there a way to do R
om
with any kind of strategy or is it meant to be a mess?
I tried a bunch of different ways.
What worked for me was trying to stay in as close as possible. This avoids the
sky attack and as he moves he clears one side of adds. Move in and take a shot or two then move out. How much damage you do will depend on your weapon speed. Bolt paper comes in very handy.

Locking on is mostly not helpful.

Lower Hintertomb Chalice. I think i got it from the Hintertomb Chalice.

Ok, I'll have to work on getting that chalice. I haven't don't much and only finished the first Pthumeru. Made the Root Pthumeru but haven't started it yet. Then Central is next. Do I get Hintertomb from Central?

I'm not 100% sure but i do remember getting it from one if the Pthumeru Chalices.

what does insight actually do?

I know I first needed it in order to be able to level up and all that. But I dont know what its for now.

You need 10 to access a second merchant in Hunter's Dream; everything at that merchant costs insight. And you need insight to summon people or invade.

It also
makes the game more difficult by giving enemies new moves/spawns new enemies.

I killed
Master Willem
before the following boss fight.

Does getting the key to this area mean that I'm past the game breaking bug, and also, was it bad that I killed this NPC?

The challenge is cutting through the clutter while he uses mechanics on you.

Its a badly designed fight.

Its actually a very cool fight.

The enemies are slow and he very gradually adds attacks as the fight progresses.I really enjoyed
Rom
and I am in no a way a particularly great player.

second merchant eyy? Im on 11 insight, didnt notice another merchant. will check him out.

Yee, ive noticed enemies are a bit harder to kill.

I give up for tonight, I can't get Eileen to spawn at the Cathedral Ward after meeting her in the sewers.
Tried everything. Killed first 3 bosses, no Amelia yet.
Unlocked shortcuts all over town, even the one in the basement of Healing Church.
Went multiple times back and forth between Ward and Oedons Grave.
Opened the Cathedral Gate with the 10k echoes key.
Brought the old hag and the whore to the Ward.
Only thing left to do is go up against Amelia or the Witches.
It's hopeless.

Don't know why this is a problem for a lot of people, it was really easy for me. I stayed kinda close (not on it's ass but not 100 miles away) and slowly killed off
the little spiders. He teleported twice and it was just rinse repeat, at the range I was at the projectiles from the sky would land next to me with enough time for me to simple side step it and they never hit me.
. I did use a level 6+ hunter axe though in 2h mode for the range (how I do all bosses)

And it's broken until they fix the tracking on his magic missiles. Seriously, every single person on this thread will tell you a different way to avoid them and none work consistently. I've tried them all (running/rolling/sidestepping in all directions).

Ebrietas
is a real bastard. Once it
rages there's practically no time to attack.
I was finally able to do it with the help of a Crow bro.

Welp.

So now I've got

Cainhurst Castle
Nightmare Frontier
and Upper Cathedral
unlocked.

Any recommended order I should tackle these places?

Really? I prefer eating two then dodging, that seemed to work for me.

Joking about the fact that 2 hit me regardless of my dodge, but not joking about the fact that worked. lol

Freja in Dark Souls 2 gave me sooo much more trouble than R
om
ever did.

Her minions are way faster and she's much more aggressive than the main guy himself.

Killing though two doesn't affect anything I don't think. I got her during the dark moon phase.
And are you looking at the right spot? Eileen is actually outside the ward looking at the grand cathedral.

2nd boss in, and again yout fighting against more of the environment than the actual boss. Please tell me the rest of the boss areas aren't designated like shit.

Yeah, I thought Freja was harder and I didn't even think Freja was that hard. Don't bother with the minions in either.

What is up with the lack of good DEX weapons? I'm on my way to
Cthulhu Castle
or whatever and STR weapons have been getting a lot of love, whereas the DEX weapon with the best scalling, which is still only C, is the cane. I'm using the saw spear.

I'd probably do Nightmare first, then Cathedral, and Cainhurst last.
