Yeah, she gives you a warning and you can leave. However you;re already far enough to get the cord.
So I can just go there and kill her now? I haven't been to the clinic yet. I know how to get there... But how will I know it's the right time to kill her for the cord?

So I finally got to (boss)
Rom
and he kicked my ass pretty handily. I mean, the first part is pretty easy - but when the blue meteors start coming, and every time you get close to him he explodes - it's pretty tough. Gonna set it down for the night, spent entirely too much time on the previous boss today and need to take a break. Hopefully tomorrow I'll be ready to kick his ass more thoroughly.

Whatever flaws this game has (lack of armor options, having to restock items) pales in relation to everything it gets right for me.

The level design and interconnectivity, art direction and music are simply god tier.

I am only around halfway or 1/3 through but so far this has topped Demons Souls for me in terms of atmosphere and Dark Souls in level design.

My favourite "Souls" game

You should be able to. Now is also a good time to check out
Nightmare Frontier and Upper Cathedral
if you haven't already

Yeah, I haven't been to those either. Is the
Upper Cathedral
through the locked door in the Healing Church Workshop? I haven't found the key yet thanks to all of the respawning enemies.

When you reach the floor that character is on they will not start talking, and once you find them they'll be lying on a gurney.

Question about W

W
oods
- boss location and shortcut.
I'm very deep in the woods and have arrived at the lake with floating lights above it, like light bugs flying around. Is this the boss? I was hoping for a shortcut nearby. I opened that gate with the elevator but that was very far back. Is there another shortcut in the woods that I missed? I don't want to have to go through all those mobs if I don't have to.

Just lost nearly 50k echoes, enough for like six levels. Was making my way through
Forbidden Woods
and found a cave off to the side filled with poison. I couldn't pass up the treasures so i foolishly worked my way over to them, only to be ambushed by a group of snakes. I searched for 20 minutes trying to find that cave again but no luck. Then I got killed by a single dog of all things...

I'd like to know this too. I just got here and was upset to find the door locked :(

Damn, Unseen Village is hard as hell. Difficulty just took a huge jump in this game. I mean come on, three
hunters at the same time, one with a cane, one with a spear rifle and one with a cannon? Trying to find a place to fight them separately.

I
managed to kill the naked one before the other 2 aggroed then just used the stairs to kill them. Swing just as they round the corner at the top of the stairs, stunlocking them, then dodging away and doing another lap around then stairs.

@Vire buddy do you know how spoiler tags work? Some people might need help, but don't want to be spoiled about names of bosses/locations/items.Just saying...
My bad, I thought I was being pretty nebulous/vague when I was talking about it, but I'll try and be more conscious about it. Just a pain to do the spoiler tag on mobile.

Alright, I think I'm starting to get a feel for this game. I guess the weirdest part is the lack of direction. So does the game lock access to areas by bosses or something? For example the Cleric Beast fucked me first time as I assume it was supposed to since I figured out how to level up. I noticed I can get to the sewer aqueducts without beating it. So am I "supposed" to be there?

Did you open the shortcut door earlier? If so you don't have to fight them.

Way to many levels that end in a dead end to talk about good interconnectivity.

There's many optional areas and dead ends. You do not have to fight cleric beast if you don't want to.

How do I face the boss in the cathedral ward through the little cave? Nothing seems to happen in the room other than the orb that pops up by the door I can't open

Is
The One Reborn
the only boss I have available at this point? I went into the fight with 60k echoes and had planned on using one of the items that returns you to the last lamp you used when I was close to death just so I could learn its moves, but I ended up dying. I then ran back with the intent of grabbing the echoes and warping out, but they weren;t there. All I can think of is that they went up to one of the women on the balconies, y'know the enemies you CAN'T FUCKING REACH.

Needless to say I'm pissed off and don't want to see the damn boss for a while.
2 staircases, one on each side of the boss. If you run on the far outside of the pillars and hit a wall, just turn the corner. Take out all 6, don't knock them down, line them up along the railing otherwise they will fall and live and now you've got them with the boss. You can circle the entire boss room from up top. Be quick tho, the boss can still reach you up there. Kill and move.

Definitely. I have quite a few gripes mechanically - for everything they improved, they took a step back in some other area. But in terms of the setting it's amazing. Every place feels so distinct. Also I love how as you progress the game gets more and more, well... spoilerish, I guess -
Lovecraftian in the vibe. I was expecting a game of mostly hunting beasts and werewolves, and the further I get into the game, the weirder and stranger it gets.

No, the light bug area is not where the boss is. Keep exploring around there and you'll find another shortcut.

I just had one of my best souls sessions. I started off at
Martyr Longinus
and killed him, accidentally wandered into the
Nightmare Frontier
and completed the entire area after defeating an invader partway through, found and killed
Amygdala
, and then finished up by returning to and defeating
Ebrietas
...all in a single life.

you can and should stroll right up there and stab those bitches.

Man...
Vicar Amelia
is probably the best boss design i've seen

this gif killed me though lol...so good

Disagree greatly.. This is the most well interconnected game of the series.

The Forbidden Woods leading to the starting area in the clinic blew my mind.

Well, 2 hours of trying to kill the hunter in the
grand chapel for the crow lady
, our last fight lasted 20 mjnutes until he did away with me. i am out for the night. Tomm will be a day of grinding levels, mainly strength and vitality until i am strong enough to kill that fucker.

I cheated that fight I feel kinda bad.

Just beat the game. The final boss was a really great fight.

There's nothing much for me to say impressions wise about the game that I haven't already said or that others haven't echoed.

Suffice to say, this is my favorite Souls game.

My ranking: BB > DeS > DkS >>>>>> DkS2

Edit: Enemy design, level design, the weapons and boss fights were all fantastic.

This game, man. This fucking game. So good.

I think I'm still pretty early (I'm usually a very slow player), but this game sucks you in like no other. That city is so depressingly beautiful. It`s so nice to explore everything and to understand how it all connects together. I'm loving it so far.
