Mergo's Loft: Base lantern. Take the elevator up, then take the 2nd elevator and jump through the opening when it comes up. There's an entire area for you to explore there but it's a bit difficult. I don't want to spoil any of the fun so if you don't find the rock after exploring this area I'll explain more. There's also another area you get to with a key where the boss fight was on the left side when first entering the misty area.
You mean the Iron Key? Yeah, I was wondering what is up with that.

I hope a patch makes it so you can buy Bloodstone Chunks like how they patched in the ability to buy Twinkling Titanite in Dark Souls. So tedious trying to get them to drop.

Never forget

these "invaders" are AI btw.
not real ppl.

They are real people. I know, I was one of them!

Finally opened the main shortcut in
Upper Cathedral
. This might be one of the most legit tense and scary parts of the game. The forboding atmosphere and tough enemies definitely were effective. I'm surprised it's an optional area.
Oh man.. Fuck those insight squid draining motherfuckers there. Legit hardest mob in the game.

The C
row dude
?
You can let him transform his Katana which drains his life, if you can get him to transform you can leash him and he'll slowly wander back to his spot, bleeding out, then just stand there and die.
It's cheap, but if you can't beat him normally.

Just finished New Game, NG+1 is disappointing so far, enemies just have more health and damage, can't see any changes in placement or type..The extra souls are nice but items are the same..What the fuck am I going to do with Coldblood (1) for 400souls? Cleric Beast had stupidly high HP but was still easier than fighting him low level on New Game. Heard there are no new items at all in NG+ and I'm better off just clearing Chalices.

Hmm thanks but I don't want to cheese that npc, he deserves to get rekt.

Great, thanks.
Just need to farm echos first, my axe is starting to become weak, and I don't want to upgrade it anymore since it's already +3. Will get the Sword and then I'll upgrade it the max I can

Thats actually a pretty good area to farm imo. I circled around and had 20,000 by the end. There are some bigger enemies that you can visceral attack and get a lot of blood echoes from.

So I'm kinda curious, but don't wanna risk finding out myself because she's cool and I'd feel bad and I also don't wanna fuck my game but

what happens if you kill the doll?

ok i got lucky then
what about these fucking spikes tho ? what triggers them ? i dont get where they are coming from and why i get frenzied...

Something higher in the area.

Real talk

One of the best boss designs in the game

I also think the 'fake out' right before hand is brilliant. A weird ass alien mob with the perfect music to match, it's crazy to think that not only was this area optional but there is going to be a chunk of players who got here and never bust the window to see the rest.

Where am I supposed to get that material to upgrade my weapon to +10? Can't seem to gdt anything besides chunks now.

There's only one in the entire game(though apparently a chalice dungeon has another?).

Question about sending NPCs to Chapel/Clinic. I told the guy opposite of A
rriana's
door about the Chapel, but seems that he didn't go there.Did anyone got him to go to the Chapel?

Damn, the second playthrough (new char) I killed MWN
(Wet Nurse)
, she does way more abilities - going to assume it's because of my insight.

On my first kill of her, all I did was stay behind and she keep doing that moving forward slash ability, and that was pretty much it besides some teleporting and flying/charging.

Second kill, she did 360 twirls, way more spinning around, barely did the forward slash ability, had a purple phase where two of them appeared. Was a much much more interesting fight.

Arianna question:

According to Destructoid, there are at least four "one-third of an umbilical cord" items, and you only need three for the true ending. I'm trying to get the Arianna one at the moment. I haven't met her yet, though. I think she's in one of the houses in what appears to be the cathedral ward's red light district, but all of the windows say "no response" now. This is after beating Rom.

Any thoughts?

Fought him legit the first time ;p Took me like 8 tries, harder than 90% of the bosses in the game.

There's a
small alley with 2 lights on opposite sides of the street, she's in the building at the end of the alley..if that's "no response" then you might be late.

Damn, Unseen Village is hard as hell. Difficulty just took a huge jump in this game. I mean come on, three
hunters at the same time, one with a cane, one with a spear rifle and one with a cannon? Trying to find a place to fight them separately.

You can reach them. There are staircases at the NW and NE.

Well that makes things a whole lot easier. Since I was able to get the boss down to less than a quarter of its life without any blood vials while I was being shot to death, I imagine that will make the boss doable without the need to farm (I have no vials left).

That boss is mandatory, so unless you have any optional areas discovered you're going to be doing this next. You can run to the back and to the right to find a staircase! It's a pretty easy boss when those enemies are dead and you stay mobile

I'm not sure if I have any optional areas left or not. is it possible to reach Cainhurst Castle at this point?

So is ludwig's and axe hands down the best weapons in the game? I'm not even using them anymore, but I can' help but think it'd be a lot easier if I was.

That's because your first encounter was glitched.

If there is a "no response" after you beat that boss, that means you missed it.NG+ it is then.

I'm not entirely sure if you screwed yourself out of it, but she was at the very end house near the dead end for me if I'm remembering correctly. I did this before Rom though.

In any case, she is not needed for the three cords. One is gotten through normal progression, one can be gotten through a hidden area pickup and the last can be gotten through the clinic at the very end of the game.

So don't worry too much.

I hate these brains SO MUCH.

90 insight here, and she does all that the first time.

Too late I think. How about the one from killing
Iofeska

Run back to the Chapel lamp. I think they'll split up so that only one will fight at a time.

Ah well. I still want to get the true ending. I know there are three other of those items, one of which is part of the normal progression loop. I got the one in the
Abandoned Workshop
, and I know I'll get another from
the Wet Nurse
. As for the in the
clinic
, I know that
Isofeka will turn ill and you can kill her for the cord at some point
. Is it safe to
check on her now and just leave if she's still hostile
? Destructoid made it sound that way.

I just found the second shortcut in
The Forest
and have fought 4 bosses,
Cleric Beast, Father Gascoigne, Blood Starved Beast, and Amelia
. How far into the game am I?

This is my first souls type game that I've put serious hours into and it's blowing my mind how great it is.

Iosefka is on all fours in the clinic telling me she's not feeling well, with tentacles in her head or something like that. This is after I killed ROM, during the red moon. Am I supposed to kill her now for the umbilical cord or later?

Yeah, she gives you a warning and you can leave. However you're already far enough to get the item.

Kill with fire!

You should be able to. Now is also a good time to check out
Nightmare Frontier and Upper Cathedral
if you haven't already

@Vire buddy do you know how spoiler tags work? Some people might need help, but don't want to be spoiled about names of bosses/locations/items.Just saying...

I think you would be okay killing her now, but I don't want to tell you the wrong thing.

I did it directly after I got the first one from the story progression and it worked.

I don't remember, do I need to kill the shadow-woods boss in order to get to Byrgenwerth? If not, what's the path.

edit / ok, you do need to kill that boss, it's not optional.
