GAF I need help deciding something key.

What should be my secondary weapon?

Stake Driver, Logarius' Wheel, or Rifle Spear? Primary is Ludwig's
, what say you GAF? Out of those three which ends up being the most useful/powerful in either PvP or main game?

repost. Has anyone used any of these weapons and can recommend it to me if I already have Ludwig's?

Last boss spoiler questions.

How the hell am I supposed to beat this guy? I'm at 70 insight so that might play a part in it - will it be a lot easier if I drop it down a bit?

Not sure if insight affects bosses. I beat him a couple of hours ago.

I parried most of the first phase and couldn't really successfully parry the second phase. Dodging backwards worked wonders for me. Wait for his 2-3 hit combo, dash in, get as many hits as you can and dodge out. Parry if possible. When goes super saiyan, I pretty much repeated the same tactics but got even less hits off because the timing window was smaller. The key to this fight is the dodges. Like seriously, at some points me and him were just dodging past each other. You need to be able to get a few hits off at a time and just back off. It took me about 12 minutes I think to down him, so be patient and dodge.

There's a
skull that shows a cutscene there. That's all I can think of. Don't recall any items or passages

You missed BSB

He's super dead.

The path to the right will be open later on in the game.

Go to where you find these two giants in this circular graveyard. There's a door you need to go through.

if you watched the ritual cutscene after Amelia you can enter forbidden woods. Go down the stairs from the circular area with the 2 big axe dudes and explore, you should find it

forest.
through go all the way down the stairs from Vic lamp, open the bottom gate if you haven't. Cross the field with two axe giants and go to the opening/door on the right from where you entered. then go left and keep going down stairs

there's shit to explore once you get past
the gate
so don't just rush down there if you want to see all the game has to offer.

Oh, wow. Probably would've never figured that out on my own. Thanks guys!

And I'm also doing my best to explore everything I can and revisit areas, but I'll probably miss some stuff anyway. I'll just clean it up on NG+

You are just spoiling weapon names left and right mate, a lot of people frown on that :/

Huh. Well obviously I got the cut scene :)

OK cool. I remember the password door - i saw it just after the big gate on the way to Amelia on the left - ill have to go back there after i take out Amelia and BSB.

OK, this is what I mean by abusable parries and bosses who just repeat the same attack over and over again: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ErusInKSqzE

This is on NG+ so it's not my first time fighting the boss. In fact, it's only my second since I beat him first try on my initial run but, even then, I remember him having more moves than this.

What's going on? Am I just in the perfect position to bait out that attack over and over? Is the AI glitched? All the bosses recently have been like this, even the supposedly harder ones like
Master Logarius
.

Getting pissed. Don't know why I can't beat
Shadow of Yharnam
it's starting to really irritate me.

I find it easiest to kill Katana first. Play it so that there is always a wall between you and the sorcerer. Katana can be easily parried and countered.

Then I went for the sorcerer. He's a sitting duck and with Katana who's the only one who rushes you out of the way its pretty safe to kill him. Dodge his fireballs, slash him twice or so, get away.

I find flamethrower the easiest 'final shadow', his super form isn't much special. I cornered him, waited for his attack, shot him and locked him in against the wall. He pretty much died in one combo.

As far as I know it is a known glitch that happens when you play the game for an extended period of time (exact trigger is unkown afaik). Can be fixed by restarting the game. I heard some speedrunner talk about it on his twitch stream.

Err...I dont think most people mind weapon names.

Especially since, for example, someone saying "reiterpallasch" means absolutely nothing >.>

Now, the fact everyones openly spoiling boss names? Lol.
Like I've been in here for awhile, and everything from
BSB to Rom has been said offhand a dozen times

WOW
that is real fucking strange

I'll try that now.

The game is so...interconnected. I get lost, take a ladder or door and suddenly I'm in a spot I recognize. Beating bosses are fun but the real challenge is finding the short cut first to get you back there. Really enjoying the difficulty and the discovery.

I do wish there weren't so many level restrictions on teaming up with a buddy.

But boss names by themselves don't tell you anything either. I think both are ridiculous spoilers but gaf is very spoiler sensitive so better safe than sorry

Like people spoiler tagging
Rom
for example, that name alone means absolutely nothing until you reach it

Man,looking at these trophy rarities is sad.

37% have still not beaten Cleric Beast.

45% or almost half of all players have not defeated Father G

I wonder if they're really struggling or just not playing

Yeah, but theres some level of give on GAF. For example, me telling you theres 26 missions in <insert game> shouldnt really be something you shout at me over, but some do. *shrugs*

So I just fought R
om
on NG+, and I damaged it so much in the first phase (almost got it down to 50% health by hacking it with my kirksword with a lightning powerup) that it skipped the second phase... But
to my surprise it still spawned the second phase adds, so I had to deal with twice as many spiders at once haha
.

I was thinking it'd make for a good demonstration video on how to deal with the boss until the end of the fight (
once Rom was alone
), where I repeatedly screwed up for no reason (eg. I hit the wrong button and run jumped straight into its AoE at one point :lol).

I'm starting to think my
Shadow of Yarnham
fight was bugged as well because people are having a hard time with it and I had a relatively easy time with it. Maybe I was overleveled?

Haha, thanks new suspend and resume feature. Doing great work there... I guess I technically haven't turned the game off in days.

Where is this one?

teleport to the forest, there will be a bridge in front of you with a sniper and a normal enemy, go striaght (watch out for the trap), stay LEFT, at all times, kill everything you see, again stay left even if there isnt a trail, then you will eventually end up near a bunch of dog cages, like 4-5 or so? Kill a few dogs, and then stay left again, there is a cave that takes you to a poison pit thing with 3 giant guys and a bunch of, ANNOYING snakes, find your way to a ladder and it leads you A) back to the beginning (shortcut) and to B) Iofska's clinic where there is a bunch of shit you want/need including a letter that brings you to cain's castle.

I did that the first time I fought him with my
tonitrus

This game reminds me a lot of Symphony.

Progression is about the same and there are a lot of dead ends with bosses. I think half of Symphony's bosses were optional too. Some were required to get the best ending. And there was little explanation on it.

For the first half of the battle, parry him every time he does a horizontal strike (his most common attack). If you're doing this, you should be able to get to the second half with like 18 potions. At that point, just brute force it. With 18 potions you can get right up in his face and do damage, take a couple hits yourself, then back off and heal.

Hi all. First post in here and haven't kept up with recent discussion. Fast moving thread and all that. Just wanted to post some thoughts after having just watched the credits roll.

Wow. Firstly, I took a few days of work for this, so have been putting a lot oft time in and the game absolutely delivered. I think I can honestly say this is the best of the Souls games. I've beaten and spent good time with them all, but the combat here is just amazing. Regarding the Souls games the combat was tense, and extremely well done, but I'm not sure the word 'fun' could always be used. For reference the most 'fun' fighing stuff in a (RPG-based) vidogame I've had up until now was in Dragons Dogma. So frantic, crazy and dynamic but not always especially dangerous. Bloodborne adds that danger, while I've still got a huge grin on my face half the time. Dark Souls was more of a constant fixed look of determination, without the smiles. Oh and the level design. Masterful. The main thing Ds2 lacked was the connecting pathways, and this game basically makes it your job to find the shortcuts and connect everything. Great ending too
(can I make another Dragons Dogma reference....)

I started cane and was having good fun, till I picked up Eilleens weapon, turfed the pistol and dual wielded my way through the second half of the game. Bosses went down so fast and the only real trouble I had from
Shadow of Yarnham
on, was the last asshole. Tried him/her/it for probably 2 hours solo before resorting to summoning for the 1st time. Was so much easier, though he/her/it killed us once with a sliver of health left with his/her/it AOE attack that I, nor my co-op buddy was ready wasn't ready for. Got it second time though.

One thing that may or may not have been mentioned. Putting points in Arcane can open up some fun stuff. With18 I can
shoot a fucking tentacle out of chest
but most importantly at 15 I can use
the Quick Hunter bone. Its nuts. Dual wielding knives with that activated I become the Nightcrawer (Marvel) teleporting around battle like no-ones business. And with +10 twin daggers and 175 endurance, you can very quickly commit many murderous acts. Truly feel like a deadly assassin. Maxed Knives have a B arcane scaling too for its arcane portion, so along with increased item discovery, it makes sense to put a few points in it. I'm going to get to 20 for the co-op aiding bell, but I've found stuff that requires, like 40. I'm tipping from the description thats some sort of AOE nuke, like some of the pyromancy stuff in DS2

Only tried a little co-op so far but up for a heap more. Helped beat down
the wet nurse
and that was fun. Oh and about that fight.
It bugged on me on my playthrough where she was only using a couple of her attacks, which were easy to avoid. Beat her no problems, 1st try. However when I went and helped, she broke out a tonne more party tricks that made it way more interesting. Checked the wiki and apparently it is a a bug. Thought she was pretty underwhelming at first

I think I picked up all the bosses on the way with a little help from the internets about some stuff I missed
nearly missed the nightmare downstairs in the lecture building (which was great), and the upper catherdral with all those dildo head muthafukas (not so great, insight sucking assholes)
. According to my trophies (62% atm) which seem to be segmented into sections for bosses etc, I have all of them. Though like the other games, I'm sure I've missed something.

So all up pretty amazing stuff. The second half of the game for me the combat went from great, to just about Best In Class. It did feel a little shorter then the other games perhaps but that's ok. I was hoping it would be like DS2 (which I loved BTW) and keep going (thought I was building to a finish at Drangliec castle), saving a couple of amazing areas for the end.

There are questions I have, but the main one so far is re NG+. I beat the last tosser, credits rolled, and bam NG+. What if I wanted to stick around and help on the last guy/girl/thing? I can't think exactly how it worked in the other games, but I think in DS2 you talk to Whatsherface in Majula to trigger it. Could be wrong

Oh and if anyone knows re covenants? I found the
Vilebloods and joined, cos hey why not. Somehow missed the exectucioners. Gave the unopened summons to Alfred, went back later, but no dice....From what I gather Vilebloods are pvp orientated which isn't really my thing.
I assume there's a Sun Bros equivalent but can anyone shed some light on where I may need to go, or what I need to do for it?

Crap another long 1st post in a thread. Good game that deserves some ranting praise though

You're preaching to the choir dude. For me, a spoiler is "Luke I am your father" not "Darth Vader is a boss" :p

Or maybe different people find different type of fights / tactics harder or easier" :p

Edit: noooooooooooo the dreaded double post :(

I've faught
Rom
probably 20 times today and I just can't beat him. Fuck.

strategy I used:

-Ignore the spiders, run and dodge around them until you reach rom
- hit him once or twice then dodge away
- when he starts attacking it's a good idea to run/dodge past the homing-like missiles, get close, wait for him to raise his tail and head to do the AoE attack, dodge a bit back, once he does it find a good spot and hit him again

Hardest issue with this strategy is constantly dodging the spider dive bombs which do a buttload of damage. but it was doable

repost. Has anyone used any of these weapons and can recommend it to me if I already have Ludwig's?

those are all pretty heavy, you might want to consider the normal Axe instead for something a little faster and far reaching.

Or just use the Ludwig 90% of the time and use the Armored Core Piledriver for fun and fooling around :D

We need like a bolded "Don't use Suspend/Resume in this game!" in the OT, because it is mostly broken for BB. It breaks online, it breaks offline, it pretty much breaks everything.

i just looked at the wiki. Everything looks so confusing and im not even sure im doing everything the right way. I think i have missed out on a lot of shit already,.

OK, this is what I mean by abusable parries and bosses who just repeat the same attack over and over again

When something like this happens to me, part of me is like 'Okay I am going to stop abusing the parry as it feels cheap and fight it fairly' and then other part of me is like 'Screw it, keep parrying' lol

The later thought always wins :P
