Man,looking at these trophy rarities is sad.

37% have still not beaten Cleric Beast.

45% or almost half of all players have not defeated Father G

I wonder if they're really struggling or just not playing

Yeah. I also looked at that yesterday. It seems about only 3,5% of players made it as far as I have and I haven't even completed the game yet.

Just beat Cleric Beast and it's already my favorite console game of the past two years and my second favorite game of this year. Excellent work by FROM

That feel when you open up a shortcut directly back to a lamp with 50k souls on you
Walking into a boss room on accident and winning your first try and going back with 70k

Congrats :)

I'm getting pretty fucking annoyed by R
om
's bullshit meteor attacks. I tried dodging them by rushing forward, backwards and sideways, but thet always hit me. I get him down to less than 50% with my first combo, but always die before being able to touch him again :(
Any tips?

To avoid the ranged barrage I just run one way, before suddenly rolling in the opposite direction just a little bit after the boss's body slams back on the ground. After that I just roll backwards and forwards and it seems to work almost all the time.

Anyone else get that huge knot in their stomach and start sweating uncontrollably every time you get a boss down to their last bit of health?

It's like I'll be doing so well until I see that I need only 3 more hits to finish them. Then I suddenly start to lose control of my senses, I start making more mistakes and choking and barely manage to hang on

only just beat the 2nd boss, but feel exactly the same.
father g in beast phase had been obliterating me for about 30 tries and i had just once managed to get him below 20% before he landed one of his combos. so when i got him with the musicbox and landed a heavy attack + molotov last night, and he was at about 5-10% that knot was beyond huge. when i then managed to pistol stun and visceral hit him to death my heart was bout to explode
...damn this game, it´s gonna kill me.

Have you tried to jump away when he does the meteors? I can't say whether it works, but I fought the boss yesterday and I could consistently dodge through the first two impacts, but the third would always damage me. So that seems to be the last option.

That said, the boss sucked and I summoned a bro. With enough damage output, it seems like the meteor rain never starts.

We got a title for the next OT yet? I don't really feel like there are any iconic lines or memes from the game yet. Although personally I'm very fond of "The sky and cosmos are one".

Actually how about this: Bloodborne |OT3| We've got oodles to discuss

How can i beat
Daughter of Cosmos
? Shit way too hard for me

Stay close behind her. When she circles to try and get you on the front she should let loose with her big grab attack. Dodge under that and to her side/rear and you should be able to whale on her some. She has a swipe down attack that covers her side so be careful of staying there too long, and focus on getting directly behind her and smacking her up some more

i think i'm really stuck in
nightmare frontier
right now

0 blood vials and slowly running out of antidotes

Go to witches abode lantern , backtrack 300 meters kill 3 villagers , then the armoured ogres which drop mostly blood vials. One 2 minute run should net you about 10 of them and that's not including blood echos. For silver bullets , lecture building.

Don't use lock on obviously. If you are charging straight at him, make sure to angle your run slightly and you will find they drop in front of you. If he lets it go when your in close, sprint directly away from him. They always seem to miss then. Keep moving and dodging, dipping, diving, ducking and... dodging and you should be fine

Thanks! Can't wait to be done with this fucker.

Walking into a boss room on accident and winning your first try and going back with 70k

One day that'll happen to me.

Also, the fact that they removed the fog doors for the first time you take on bosses is EVIL, but I fucking LOVE IT. You'll never know when you're just walking into a big room or if there's actually a boss in there. Its so awesome.

Oh man, just got the 30% Moon rune (there are 3 tiers, 30% being the highest currently). Really interesting how you get it.

Endgame spoilers, do not click unless you've beaten the game atleast once:

You need the
Make Contact gesture from Upper Cathedral, and then go back below Micolash, to where the small children mobs are, and there's a new elevator there to take down to the abyss where you dropped the brain thing. Have to use Make Contact emote for ~30s, and then your hands change position and you get the rune.
May have been said since this thread moves so damn fast, but if you
kill her/it again, you get a special item for chalice rituals
.

I think it's a hit and miss. I'm more a fan of an actual fog door. That builds more tension for me. The other things is just trolling, and that gets old quite fast unless it's done right.

The fog door at Shadows of Yharnam is clever in trolling the player. You think you're walking to the door, but then the boss fight triggers.

Another basic question here, I'm about 4 hours in and have just killed Gascoigne. Should I proceed into the next area (old Yharnam I think) or look through the sewers a bit more. I thought I saw something huge at the end of a tunnel as I was leaving but I'm not 100% sure.

Is there a point in telling people to go to the cathedral for safety?

Wtf, just read something on wiki and tried it....it worked, but how the hell did anyone figure that out :O

spoiler of what it is:
if you use the make contact gesture in front of the mother brain in the nightmare of mensis area and just sit there for a while, you get a rune. Not only is it crazy that you have to use a gesture you get from a COMPLETELY different location in the game in front of this enemy for a long time, but the only way to even be able to do this is you have to encounter the brain in a secret/different way than the "normal" way you would encounter it.

Crazy.

The
Forbidden Forest
has probably been my favorite area so far (tied for first with central yharnam so far). Hope the boss is as good as the area is.

Also, gonna give the cane a second chance and upgrade it on the side with extra resources as I work on the Saw Spear. That scaling is too good to ignore for my skill user, and hopefully I just grow to like it more, or I find a different weapon that's even better.

Just got the forced PvP fight. I lost and it was annoying as shit. Like 5-10 minutes of hitting, retreating, healing, repeat. Decided I would try to box him in and just finish it, but of course I myself ended up getting boxed in by some stupid geometry. I will never choose to do PvP because good lord was that seriously fucking boring. Visceral stuns didn't even work.

Yeah. Explore the sewers. Not a ton of loot but it should net a decent amount of BE for upgrading.

no idea where to go

i beat gatlin guy, got his badge or whatever... went back to the main area, went through the church, underground bit. Wen tot the other side where the 2 GIANT boulder-chain weilding guys were, in both directions. Every door I try to open says closed.

Gatlin guy is not the boss of that area, nor is that the end of that area lol.

I kicked the Cleric Beast's hairy buttocks on the second attempt. Winning at life! And then I hit father G and lost around 9000 echoes, so I just marched straight back there via the lift shortcut, but because I was feeling a bit over confident I got utterly scrubbed by a couple of low level guys on the bridge on the way there and lost the lot.

;____;

Lesson (re)learned, even low level enemies can wipe you out if you're not paying attention.

Father G is proving to be a bit of a pain though, can get him down to around 50% health. need to better use the gravestones cover to avoid his gunshots I think.

Brilliant game, but haaaaaaaard for me.

I think it builds more tension the other way, but that could just be because DS2 kind of spoiled me on fog doors and how much of them there were that just led to nothing.

Congrats :)

I also hit a brick wall with RtVS for a good period, the meteor attack is pure bullshit because the attack's movement is erratic as fuck. It believe it tracks you for abit once you hear that bell sound, tho I cannot tell you when the tracking ends for you to dodge appropriately.

Here's my tip for how I beat him, don't even let the fucker use it. Of course, you go close and the mooks become the real problem, so clear the mooks carefully near him while avoiding the AOE attacks (which are highly telegraphed). If you're having problems, use strong, AOE swings if you have heavy weapon, and go for one or two hits, and don't lock on so that you can constantly monitor the big guy. If you get hit, get clear and heal. Once they're clear, wail on him; he's easy alone. Rinse and repeat; he'll only call on the mooks a total of 3 times in the fight.

Glad you're enjoying it. And yeah, never take souls enemies likely. Even if you beat them once, its not guaranteed you can easily beat them again. Every encounter takes 100%

could have sworn i went everywhere there. Maybe I need to go back to the
ritual area where you find the ritual blood
Only place I think I didnt revisit (from the ground anyways) [/spoiler]

Snap. Can you say what Rune?

i killed it like everything before it. Then left a massage saying oh,eye!

I've been kind of trying to avoid most of the hidden/optional areas up to this point (currently level 29, defeated
CB, Father G, BSB, Amelia, Witch of Hemwick
. I'm exploring the ever exciting F.W. and kind of wanted to take a brief break to try out some other stuff, idk though. I found a bag boy and avoided him like the plague because
that abduction shit is some of the craziest shit I've heard of in a game
but it seems like plenty of people have done it in the name of exploration... Should I mess with some of that stuff or should I wait until I at least clear F.W.?

The areas I know I can access are
wherever the giant invisible hand near the Grand Cathedral will take me with the fancy stone, the cave that leads to Iosefka, and wherever the fuck bag bro in the Forbidden Woods will take me

Thoughts/Advice?

look around the ladder where you climbed up to gatlin guy, you continue on from around there :)

You can actually fight Father G in a relatively (well, "relatively" in Bloodborne still means you can get royally fucked up if you make a mistake, hahaha) safe way, at least in his human form, by circling him around some collection of tombstones and use wide arc charging attack to damage him. The Axe's R2 charge attack is perfect for this.

Now, as for me, I suppose the best way to fight BsB is actually to *get close*? His pouncing attack from afar is excruciatingly deadly, but I am not confident to actually stand close to him, especially during his poison everything time... urghhhh....

Yeah I just found that out after I finished that playthrough, and I was planning on doing Chalice grinding since I haven't done it at all on this character yet. >.>

I said it above already, but I just turned on the game so I will post again just to confirm it actually was another moon rune. Now I have 3, blood echo farming time? :D

edit: wow I just scrolled up a bit and saw someone else already talked about it haha

Umm I think I found an echoes glitch. I'm new to souls games so correct me if this is normal: If you sell quicksilver bullets in the hunters dream then exit game and re-enter the game, you will have both the bullets replenished and the echoes you sold them for... Intentional?

So far it occurs if I sell 10 bullets, I haven't tried more yet. Of course you would have to sit through lots of loading screens to accrue plenty.

I just got in his face and shot him in the face when he'd swipe. If I saw a pounce coming I'd just dodge. When he went poison mode I'd run like a little bitch. Flamethower and moltovs worked nice on the poison part
