question for folks; I find I'm having a bit of a hard time at Yaragul. On top of that my insight keeps getting stolen. I'm level 52; so i might be a bit in need of some extra points in my vitality and skill?

Its either Yaragul or Upper Cathedral... I think. Upper Cathedral seems even more difficult. Could fight Paarl first, haven't done that either.

BSB ain't shit, went down in two tries. I was trying to keep my distance the first time, but dodging toward him instead of away turned out to work much better.

His area seems to be a dead end, I'm guessing to progress I need to
buy the key thing that costs 10,000 souls at the store and go back to the church area?

I wandered around a bit, managed to get up to the machine gun guy. I HATE that guy, was really looking forward to killing him. I thought he was going to be some normal guy and he was on a mounted gun, turns out he's some kind of crazy mini-boss. Slaughtered me a few seconds, I think I'll probably save him for later.

What weapon / gems are you using? I've got a holy blade +10 with atk+12.6%, atk+18%, and atk+7.3%. My stats cap soon and the weapon is maxed, so how to go higher?
You are putting very little points in Strength. Holy Blade scales with Strength too. You can put points in both Str and Skl up to 50, will get you over 600 damage easily.

And later on you get better gems too especially playing Chalice. Over half of my damage actually comes from gems (almost 400 damage is coming from Gems).

You probably want to keep trucking with Yaragul. Upper Catherdrals tough. I went there a bit later when I was pretty OP and died a few times to the regular enemies

Oh and Paarls not too hard once you get past how intimidating he looks. Staying in close worked well for me.

Anyone else get that huge knot in their stomach and start sweating uncontrollably every time you get a boss down to their last bit of health?

It's like I'll be doing so well until I see that I need only 3 more hits to finish them. Then I suddenly start to lose control of my senses, I start making more mistakes and choking and barely manage to hang on

i've been trying to get through this area that i thought i was just supposed to be stuck in, for like an hour, because i totally didn't fucking realize there was a lamp in the starting area

10th try on Logarius

...nope, still can't beat him.
I think the hard part is the first phase when he
keeps using his ranged attacks. Try to get one hit off on him and roll away. When he switches to physical attacks, try to parry him or follow the same strategy as earlier.

Logical, yup. Though there may be optional areas you may or may not have missed by that point as well

Such as?? I've been to the witch area, and killed by a ghost skeleton the opposite direction of the witches, lol.

What's coming is arguably worse than snakes. :P

I did a little scouting before I turned it off and ran into the guy that steals health+insight. The bugs were taking quite a few hits to die as well. :\

Got another question about something I just remembered (late game spoilers):
So right before you fight the nurse there is a lady in white crying, I didn't kill her and after I killed the boss I went back and she bowed and disappeared? Do I find her somewhere else? Did this trigger something? or should I have just killed her?

She is the
final boss of the optional Chalice Dungeons
, apparently.

Yup. I'm that way. For me when I beat a boss it's because I stayed calm and composed. Sometime I get too cocky and the game reminds me that I need to stay patient and cautious.

Holy shit the
spiders
in
Nightmare of Mensis
were horrifying. I think it was the
the quick pitter patter of all their feet and their speed that got me, I've never been scared of Inga me spiders before

From what I understand you have to kill
Darkbeast Paarl in the optional area to get him to become friendly. Unfortunately it seems like that area is pretty tough. I tried going there after killing the boss of Old Yharnam and the bag carrying mobs were taking out a lot of my health each hit.

Is that area after the boss?

This is the only series that does this to me.

Panic sets in and I start thinking, should I get greedy and go in for the final 3 slashes or step back and then when you kill it, it is so satisfying and huge relief!

12 tries later I got BSB.... What a relief. This fucking game.

Congrats :)

I'm getting pretty fucking annoyed by R
om
's bullshit meteor attacks. I tried dodging them by rushing forward, backwards and sideways, but thet always hit me. I get him down to less than 50% with my first combo, but always die before being able to touch him again :(
Any tips?

I haven't done it yet personally, but apparently you can easily parry his physical attacks!

I found him easy, though maybe a was a bit overleveled or perhaps he was bugged. Took 2 or 3 goes to get it right.
Blade of mercy is OP against him. Can stunlock him, and if you back him into a wall i was landing 9-10 hit combos without him able to do shit. Had to be a little more careful with that in his enraged form though

Man,looking at these trophy rarities is sad.

37% have still not beaten Cleric Beast.

45% or almost half of all players have not defeated Father G

I wonder if they're really struggling or just not playing

I'm on my 4th try...leave me alone :p

My first attempt was abysmal. The second and third attempts I had him down to 10%.
Every time I get my arse handed to me I have to turn the PS4 off and go do something else. I don't have the will to push on like I do with the Souls games when I die. It seems like a bit of a chore at the moment.

I will keep trying though.

guys is there any world map for this game?
there was a world map for DS2 which helped me to find my way

nah, that's an optional item.

...But you might want to visit the church area now anyways...

Just killed Amelia and now it's time for bed. I should've been in bed 2 hours ago... Now I probably won't be able to sleep b/c my adrenaline is in overdrive.

This. Game...

Don't use lock on obviously. If you are charging straight at him, make sure to angle your run slightly and you will find they drop in front of you. If he lets it go when your in close, sprint directly away from him. They always seem to miss then. Keep moving and dodging, dipping, diving, ducking and... dodging and you should be fine
