It leads to a new zone, but only if you have a certain item. It's a later game thing though.

Run down VA steps through the big gate into the large open area with the 2 giants. Take a right through the opening and then a left and follow the path.

I killed Scimitar Guy first by parrying - he's really easy to shoot because he telegraphs pretty slowly. Went for Fire Breather and Fireball at the same time, they're not too hard to dodge, you just have to be careful about when to roll out and come back in to attack.
 
NG+ still haven't found crow lady. I went to where she is supposed to be in that little room near the rafters. No luck.

For the record I have killed CB, FG and Amelia thus far. Will I ever see her? :(
 
Tips for Rom:

Kill the first batch of spiders, since he does't use his AoE yet. Attack Rom until he dissapears. Now, for the AoE attacks: I found the ones that come up from the ground is easily avoided simply by running sideways. The ones from the sky seems easy to miss if you move TOWARDS him. Run and roll like a motherfucker towards him when these appear.

Lure the spiders towards you, then storm and attack him for a few times (until you think the small spiders are too close), then run away again.

Rinse and repeat. Got him the first time I tried this tactic

1.
Leads to a door that I heard doesn't open till you beat a certain boss.

2. From Grand Cathedral, go directly to the main circle at the bottom of the stairs, then take the path on the right. Big axe guy or whatever should be crouching in front of it.

Yep. Stun locking the guy with R1 in cane mode or ranged R2 in whip mode are both super effective. I kind of went to it in desperation for
VA
and have loved it even since. Made the
Forbidden Woods
a breeze. I have it at +8 right now.
 
I'm pissed that Eileen got
killed by the little shitter on the Oedon Tomb.
Cheese the fuck out him because he doesn't deserve any fairness.

Crow lady? Eileen? She moved to
Cathedral Ward
at some point, probably after Amelia. Just outside the place with the lamp, left from the main entrance.

You might suffer a little more at the start, you should still have enough to put a few points into a skill or strength to get by and keep your damage reasonable. Once you start uncovering some of the toys, you could make something very different though. Some of them have S scaling for arcane too. Highest one I've found needs 40.

I can use an item for 6 quicksilver bullets that turns doges and rolls to Nightcrawler style teleports for roughly 10 seconds. Its so awesome

I can shoot a freaking tentacle out of my chest. 2 quicksilver bullets

I can use a bell which provides healing for you and your co-op buddy. 9 quicksilver bullets

Theres what looks like its an AOE nuke. Havent tried as i'm only at 18 but sounds fun. 8 quicksilver bullets

I found a couple of others as well but they're the pick so far

Hah good luck. The only slight pain if you want to use them I could see is juggling your inventory use spot all the time. Especially with only 1 way to scroll through what you have equipped. I get the sacrifice health for bullets, and with that stuff I've actually for the first time used it, but why can't up just go up through the inventory. I always skip past what I want, and end up ringing my bell or some shit......

On another note I just found a weapon in level 2 chalice dungeon.
Uncanny saw spear.
Its pretty sweet. I like its first form but wont replace daggers.

Also some of the dungeons seem to have side areas that have lots of ritual blood, and moss etc so its worth having a look around rather then charging for the lever every time. Also found said weapon on a path no where near the lever in a big fuck off chest
 
Completely got wrecked by the
Blood Starved Beast
while he had no more than a solid 3 hits till his demise. And I had full health too.

I'm fucking upset. Bye bye 20,000 echoes.

Go upstairs when he enters beast mode and parry his attacks while going up and down the balcony. If the parry missed dodge forward and back off and try again. That's how I did it anyway.
