I'm not even going to spoil anything about that since it is already going to haunt my nightmares. I will spoil something else though about items in that area:
there are several hidden items in the poison areas at the ends of long caves and what not, one of which is something that can disguise you as a messenger of you have 10 arcane.

I was invaded like 3 times yesterday in the final dungeon and I never used any bells or anything. Just all of a sudden a message that there was a bell woman and eventually someone out of nowhere tried to kill me
Oh no, I'm trying to summon anyone with a pluse lol. So I should stand near a lantern and ring the beckoning bell? I'm also having trouble seeing tombstones, but my connection to psn seems fine, and I just restarted the application.
I think it was the hardest in the game.

So I found the Tonitrus, picked it up, then when I checked my inventory not five minutes later it wasn't there. Wtf.

No cannot be true. Central Yharnam is my main vial farm point. I always went through shortcut left, into the house (got the +4 bullets from the old geezer), killed all fatties (two down to the Father G. shortcut, one on the bridge) that gave me always 4 blood vials. The wolves on the bridge give you 3 blood vials each everytime (or a blood stone also nice). All in all I need about 5 minutes to get 20 vials and about 8-10 QS bullets.
These last days I tried to do a gun only run, but it's almost impossible with so few bullets. :-/ The canon +10 and 40 bloodtinge will kill anyone in PVP though... too overpowered with some ash to get it even more buffed.
It's not a weapon! It's an infinite consumable item.

Cainhurst is what I did first. Unseen Village is pretty close to the end-game, whereas Cainhurst is optional and fun. Very Duke's Archives-esque.
Switch to offline mode temporarily.
It happened to me once that I rung a bell and beat a boss and then went to a new area without dying and then I got invaded in the new area. Not sure if that is what happened to you or not. And I am not sure if my bell was still ringing at that point or now either.

Did you pick up the tiny tonitrus item and think you picked up the Tonitrus weapon? Check your consumable items section

stack vit. it essentially doubles your dmg output with maxed bloodtinge; it's really strong.

Im on layer 3, skipping bonus rooms. I'm guessing if I have enough blood, I have no need for bonus rooms anymore?
The optional earlier accessed part is what I mean.
Did you unlock the shortcut in there earlier in the game? If so you can just go around them.

Finished the game late last night and already started NG+ and beat Father Geezy. I can safely say I'm addicted to this haha.

I would not agree with that.
I've cleared the game a few times and using a gun was never necessary.
It's a great tool though if you can git gud with it.
it is but it does a lot of damage too.
I wish I had gems with high hp recovery and some other bonuses. guess I'll have to grind chalice dungeons again until I get to depth 4 or 5.
I'd enjoy that much more if co-op was working properly or if you didn't need to finish 5 dungeons before getting the chalice to search co-op games.

Anyone between the levels of 46 and 66 wanna help me beat this spider boss? I almost had him 3 times. Between the roll, the amount of minions it has or the stupid blue shit falling from the sky that seems nigh on impossible to dodge, I just can't do it. He keeps getting me when he's on his last fifth of health.

It's not required but it would be wise. You can one shot almost everything by easy parrying. Bosses get wrecked by this too.

Same. When I finished my first run, I immediately plotted out a new route for NG+. Haven't been this hooked on a (primarily) single player game is Dark Souls 1. They really knocked it out of the park with this game!

Yeah, that seems like a decent plan. I put my PS4 in the DMZ, and started having more success with joining people. If you know how to do that in your router settings, give that a try. Overall, the game just needs a server/game patch to increase connection success rates. If you're running out of insight, you can maybe start a chalice dungeon and beat the bosses in there, you'll rack up insight fast.

Trick him into jumping off the tower or just parry him.
Losing 50k echoes and 10 insight to that enemy almost made me quit entirely. it doesn't stop shooting that fucking missile that snares you until you get close/far enough either...

Most people, including myself, knocked him off the roof. Keep shooting him and try to get him backed up against a ledge.
It was useful in the first half of the game, but once my weapon was upgraded enough and I was killing almost every mob in one shot anyway it became pointless
Bonus rooms sometimes have big chests, and those have the best rewards, like runes and gems. If it's a standard dungeon, you can skip them though, all you will get is ritual materials.
try running the entire way up the ladder. then run right at him when you get to the top. you can catch him off-guard and with a few hits knock him off. worked for me.
