Bloodborne |OT3| I Cane, I Saw, I Conqu- YOU DIED

Elaborate pls.

The main game takes about half as long to beat as DS1 or DS2. That's probably why they put in the chalice dungeons. I beat nearly every boss (except I missed
Cainhurst
and didn't do the
third ending
) and finished in about 23 hours.

Where do I go in Cainhurst? I've completed a loop of the castle, opening two shortcuts -- a castle from the courtyard to the library, and then I creeped along the exterior of the castle, dropped through a window, and opened a shortcut... that leads to the library. Yet one where I can't climb back up through the window, so I'm not sure what purpose this serves. And I have no idea where to go next. Tips?
The bookcase you moved for a shortcut unveils a ladder.

it is really hard to still care after u prep for a boss, use all ur items, then die. Isnt there a way to cheat and make a manual save by backing up the file or something? I think I might have to do that. I like the game, but the difficulty is too much for me.

A majority of the game is optional content, and even then completing all dungeons and bosses will take only about 25-30 hours or so. Took me 36 hours for completion, and Dark Souls 1 took me 72 hours on my first play. Seems to be more in like with Demon's which I completed in about 30 hours as well

Had two weird things happen on latest playthrough.

1) Got the Tonsil Stone from NPC in Central Yarnham. Weird as hell, that. I got it at the window where Gascoine's daughter normally was. Weird!

2) Found a way to easily cheese the second hunter in Old Yarnham.
After you open up the gate shortcut near the ladder to the gattling gun hunter, you can bait the hunter near you, get on the ladder in the shortcut entrance and climb down just a little, and the hunter will fall to his death. Cool!

Dark didn't take me nearly 72 hours. Honestly, I am finding this one to be just about the same length as the previous games.

Lol 35 hours later and finding this out. Wondering how ppl were getting back stabs so easy

How to spot people that never played a Souls game :p

I'm not being a dick it's all good, just thought it was funny

hmm getting to the point where I have to farm the same chalice dungeon for chalice mats.

But the last depth 3 dungeon I did, lower hintertomb, was pretty okay difficulty.

So I beat the
blood-starved beast
and I feel like I've hit a dead end. Any GAF-lanterns want to lead my way to the next area?

So, if you go left at the cathedral ward, then up towards the giant, you eventually reach another giant with a big ass ball and chain. Behind him is a staircase that leads down to a chest and a closed door. What the fuck is up with that door? Just got to it in new game plus and realized I never did anything with it my first time through the game. It just says it's closed when you click on it.
Curious about this too. Anyone know?

There is a glitch that allows you to duplicate your items, so you can have 99 blood vials, 99 bullets etc. ain't done it myself but it does exist.

Need help on where to go next. Here are the bosses I've beaten so far:

Cleric Beast, Witch of Hemwick, Father Gascoigne, BSB, Vicar Amelia, Darkbeast Paarl.

I'm over 30 hours with 8 bosses down, so I think ill get around 40 hours give or take and I haven't touched the Chalice dungeons yet.

I think you can do that on PS3 souls games but I dunno if it works on the PS4. Might as well try it out. Honestly though it might take longer than just taking a quick run around one of the starter areas to get the items again.

Forbidden Woods, near Vicar Amelia/Church area. Have to use that password you got from her.

I have over 500 hours in souls games...never needed to stealth walk before to back stab

That's because the backstabbing mechanic is different, not because the stealth mechanic is different :)

You can still backstabbing in BB out of "stealth" too.

I think you gotta get 10,000 blood echoes and then buy
the emblem thing from the zombie babies, then you can open the a gate. To get to the gate you travel to the ward lantern. Take the left hand door, then turn right, up the steps, passed the giant up the stairs.

If you go to the small cathedral and go left, then straight until you see that giant slow enemy, make a left, follow that until you come to a door that you can now go through since you beat VA.

i think i finally got it a bit today. i upgraded my weapon again, took on the big guy with the ball and chain, and beat him. then took on the other big guy with the axe and beat him too.

If someone just plays through the game and doesn't discover the optional dungeons/bosses it's very possible. Alot of people doing their first playthrough blind, they will end up missing alot of stuff. Thus you get the average you see.

You gotta rush and do almost no exploring to get that time.

Just Beat Vicar Amelia on my first try... Dont get all hate for this boss. Was it supposed to be a hard fight ? Geez

It can be if you waste too much time on the defense. Once you realise
she's weak and easy to stun the fight becomes pretty simple. For me she was just hiding in a corner trying to heal while I wailed on her
.

Got it, thanks. I forgot about this area!

So those
cthulhu spiders
, when people say the mind blowing part is that they were there all along (like
outside the safe haven church for example
) do you mean just lore wise, or if you had enough insight from the start you could actually see them?

Basically, if you go to ng+ with enough insight (let's say 99 to be sure) will all of them be visible from the start?

If so, From are geniuses.

The more insight you have the harder the game gets

Insight makes the game harder. Enemies get more aggressive and have new moves.

The average a week into release is clearly much, much lower than it will eventually gravitate towards, simply by selection bias.

I'm not saying it's anywhere near as long as Dark Souls (haven't beaten it yet to say anything), but good evidence this is not!

Obviously people that have already beaten it are better at the game, so the average time will inevitably go up over time. But I just know that it took me 23 hours, and I don't even consider myself a great Souls player. I beat the game on the second day and I wasn't even rushing to do so.

whoa, chinese username. never seen that before.

I really can't fathom how people are beating this game so quickly. I'm at over 30 hours and am only like 2/3s through, at the most. And I consider myself pretty good at the Souls games I guess.
