Bloodborne |OT3| I Cane, I Saw, I Conqu- YOU DIED

End-game question:

Is it just me or is Gherman a pretty rough fight? None of the bosses in this game gave me trouble but hes just so fast. I was a few beers deep though so that could have been my problem. I prefer to use the mace but I nearly killed him using the transformed axe charge attack, the range it covers is massive, then his speed and AoE when his health is low are a pain in the ass. Any tips?

Dodge the first scythe swing, immediate counter gun shot, visceral attack. Just keep getting viscerals. Don't bother with anything else.

Tried the first chalice dungeon, not a fan. I can see the appeal but I think the stat/loot driven nature of the challenge doesn't appeal to me the same way the main game does, where discovering secrets and shortcuts and finding bosses is more hand tailored and interesting.

Any hunters around level 62 that can assist me with the
3 hunters before the One Reborn, and since it's right there, assist me with the boss as well?

I'll set a password up if someone is available.

Continuing from my previous post. Fextralife says if you didn't talk to Eileen in her second location, you will not be able to finish her questline. Is this confirmed? Anyone on gaf who was able to finish her quest despite not talking to her in Church Ward (but interacting with her in every other way)?

I never talked to her in the Church yet I finished her quest.
My encounters with her were

1) in the secret area in the sewers of Central Yarham
2) Father boss arena, fighting another hunter
3) Cathedral where you fight Vicar

Me playing Bloodborne.

So I'm I killed
Amygdala and Rom
.
Now all her family are all over the place, and clearly visible. The sky is purple and the moon is yellow.
The atmosphere and design is the game is fucking incredible.

Alright THIS is the best explanation of the chalice dungeon i have found yet.

Anyone who want know about them and how to approach them look at the video for when you begin them.Slight spoilers about weapons and armor and booses in the video but i recommend it.
edit: People not further along the game please just hold off from watching if you only have the one chalice at the beginning

Last night I found another boss,
Amygdala
, and I did like 3 attempts on it before figuring it out and I wasn't going to make that last attempt an actual serious one but it was going decent so I started using all my vials. I was doing well and I think I would have gotten it but then when the boss was around 25% health my controller died and my PS4 gave me an error, not too sure what happened but it took me too long to figure out and fix before I was dead. Went to bed all salty since those were my last vials and now I have to farm some before I try again.

Just noticed last night that you can now write longer in game messages to other players.

Open your notebook and hit either R1 or L1 (can't remember which one) and you'll see where you can now add conjunctions and two additional lines to your messages.

Haven't posted much here for fear of spoilers but I am at
Wet Nurse's Lunarium
, pretty much the end. I'll end up only with 3 out of the 4
One Third Umbilical Cord
due to that asshole
murdering
Arianna in the Ward.

Lot more NG+ runs ahead :) Game is a blast. The greatest thing in these games is finally beating a boss due to understanding the mechanics of the fight through lots of dying. Fights go from "I'll never pass this ever" to "Why was that so easy this time?".

Game is too damn good. Too Damn Good.

Thanks, that helps a lot.

To clarify, by finishing her quest you mean
killing a katana wielding hunter in the cathedral and being able to join eileens covenant, not killing eileen?

Man fuck those
huge headed frenzy inducing creeps in the nightmare frontier
. Them + the poison, rage inducing...think I got all the items around that area and did get the
messenger disguise item
, haven't tried it yet, but by the description it sounds cool.

Careful, his final form doesn't let you parry. Once he's done to 30/40% health, you need to just dodge two of his attacks and use the backstep R1 move. Basically, dodge to the side once, then back and hit R1 immediately.Rinse Repeat. Done. You'll never take damage.

Why the hell is the
house in the Hunter's Dream on fire
in that video? I hope that's not a spoiler. I closed the video in case.

I went too far into the game to continue her quest so I missed all the events after it but I did meet her in her very first spot by chance while exploring. almost attacked her but I walked up and there was a Talk prompt.

turns out once you beat
Rom, she's hostile so I had to fight her and I got her badge that way to buy her gear.
I've beaten
Vicar and the Hemwick witch
, but haven't proceeded too far into the next level. Is it too late for me to start talking with Eileen?

Does the Insight shop ever start selling Blood Stone Chunks? Because I want to get rid of all of my insight but there is nothing I really want to buy.

Why not buy all the cool armors? Or I guess you already did?

if you just want to get rid of them
lure them into the basement and go into a cell and close the door, wing through the bars

The zoning of enemies is weird sometimes. Some of the tougher enemies are jokes when you can just stand at the opposite side if a threahold, without having to worry about them crossing over to get you.

This is something I dislike greatly and it bothered me in some other great games. Eg The Last Of Us. There are some bits where Clickers won't hear you over an arbitrary invisible border, even when you're firing guns. Stupid, stupid, stupid.

Sometimes I think it saves the encounter balancing in BB, but other times it's just plain stupid.

Ok I think that I'm just going to buy DaS2 next week.

I know those of you who have played all the games will say it is not as good as DaS and DeS is even better... however they are making a 60fps version on PS4 with all DLC and I already have a hard time going back to choppy frame-rates and bad last gen graphics. And DaS2 on PS4 is likely to have a more vibrant community for online game play and summoning and PvP etc.

I like this story.

she was laying outside of the Chatedral, went inside and killed a katana dude (that gave me a lot of problems lol). After that she gave me a Rune and the option to buy her stuff on the shop. Dunno about the Covenant though.

I guess that's it, didn't follow a guide so dunno if there's more.

OMG, dude you got so lucky!

Beating that with 0 vials and 10% of your HP remaining. Must have been exhilarating!

Yeah i know, i felt hopeless given how many vials i spammed before that but i went berserk and said well, if i'm going to die, i'll die being brave! and i happened to kill it, what a fight and what a game, i love how we have to use the environments because we no longer have a shield that protect us

Question about something that is bothering me:

The gate to the right once you leave the Sickroom building. How the F do you open that gate!? I can not for the life of me find a way in there.

Ignore the haters, DkS2 is possibly my favourite of the series. The DLC alone includes some of the best areas they've ever had.

Plus, the 60FPS difference will be huge, especially coming from BB. And, honestly, the game was pretty gorgeous on a PC when maxed out so it's not like the game won't be a looker, even with last-gen assets.

I would like to pick it back up, never played through the DLC originally, but soul memory still exists...and I hate that with a passion.

Which is the #1
secret area in the sewers of Central Yarham
? Where is that?

So weapons stats help me out. I see elemental and physical do not stack. and I read that you lose strength/dex scaling with elemental added. But what about the tonsil, that charges an electric attack but it seems to me the stats stay based on str/dex.

Also is there any upgrade paths or should I upgrade all weapons as soon as I can?

I ordered Scholar of the First Sin for PS4, its here tomorrow. But I won't be playing anything else than BB for a while though, lol.

Anyone else ordered DS2?

You won't be opening that until much later in the game (if you are just starting) and it requires some exploring to get to that point in an entirely different area.

Some of the floors are Tenchu 2 level editor shit too.

Later, much much later. It's a hidden area and it'll be a pretty big shock when you do open it considering where you're coming from.

It's like the shining example of why FROM are second to none when designing levels.

Haven't ordered it yet, but will be getting it. Put over 400 hours in DkS2 on PS3. Looking forward to trying out all the DLCs, the 1st DLC was awesome (maze like, optional areas, tough enemies, etc)

Thanks again. You have no idea how much this helps. The (erroneous) information on Fextralife almost made me kill her in the tomb, but now I can drop this horrible idea and continue with the game.

I think you should be safe altho I don't know the exact location of her other spot. people reported her never showing up in other locations tho. not sure if glitched or need to meet a requirement.

Say no more, thank you for the info.
