Which is the #1
secret area in the sewers of Central Yarham
? Where is that?
You know when you first start to enter the sewers and there's a stairway with a torch-wielding wolfy guy ascending it? Instead of going down the stairs, go to the right and you'll notice an open window obscured by some barrels and crates. Smash em and roll through and you'll be on some platforms above the sewers. Walk around em and you'll find another broken window you can walk through and you should find her at the end of the path.

Haven't ordered it yet, but will be getting it. Put over 400 hours in DkS2 on PS3. Looking forward to trying out all the DLCs, the 1st DLC was awesome (maze like, optional areas, tough enemies, etc)

It'll be my first time with DS2. I skipped it because I had a PS4 already. Hope waiting pays off, 60fps sounds nice in theory.

I've walked through what seemed like the entirety of the Forgotten Woods and don't know where to go.

I did find
a cave with some weird, alien/octopus looking little guys.
Should I go there?

I would like to pick it back up, never played through the DLC originally, but soul memory still exists...and I hate that with a passion.

There's a ring you can buy in the new version that stops you from earning souls if you just want to PVP or do Co-Op.

It's not an ideal solution but it certainly helps. I wouldn't write off the game so quickly just because of that mechanic. Especially when the DLC is astoundingly good. You're missing out, for real.

Oh, right duh. I've seen her there early on. But haven't found her since..

Can't remember exactly but before going down to the sewers theres a window you can access after breaking some junk blocking it.

Thanks again. You have no idea how much this helps. The (erroneous) information on Fextralife almost made me kill her in the tomb, but now I can drop this horrible idea and continue with the game.

No problem! Don't really know if there's other ways to beat the quest, I was basically going to the lanterns that told me I couldn't teleport back to know wtf was happening there lol

Hmmm, this has me intrigued. Don't like using up a ring slot, but I may cave. Though BB will probably envelop my time for the next month at least.

That should be close to the boss, go back to the muddy looking area next to it and go straight past the pigs.

Ignore the haters, DkS2 is possibly my favourite of the series. The DLC alone includes some of the best areas they've ever had.

Plus, the 60FPS difference will be huge, especially coming from BB. And, honestly, the game was pretty gorgeous on a PC when maxed out so it's not like the game won't be a looker, even with last-gen assets.

Yeah good points!

Can you parry NPC hunters?

Yeah, and most of them are pretty easy to parry. The only one I couldn't reliably do it on was the one packing the Blunderbuss who likes to sit back and blast you with it and almost never comes into melee.

Speaking of which, I personally find the Blunderbuss to be the best for countering Hunters. Especially the 3 pack you run into. Since it staggers regardless of you getting an actual parry off or not it made them super easy to manage when luring them into the stairwell and all packed together.

Finally found
blood starved beast
last night. Took it down first try, although we died at the same time. Reclaimed my souls and went and leveled up and upgraded my cane some more. I still can't take down
machine gun hunter
. After watching some videos, now that I've taken out
bsb
I can access the elevator that takes me to the
ludwigs
weapon correct? Also, about
eileen (sp?)
,I spoke to her first meeting and now she is not showing up in her second location where
FC
boss fight was. What am I missing there? I've only taken out
cleric beast, father and blood starved beast
.

Yeah, basically what I did. Like wtf, why is the warp to my insight farming spot locked? Had to investigate.

Dumb question but how do i summon help/co-op? I have a bell item which seems to be for this purpose but when i equip it my character just shrugs. I have 14 insight.

man I am not getting enough time to play this game, y'all are way ahead of me.

Alright THIS is the best explanation of the chalice dungeon i have found yet.

Anyone who want know about them and how to approach them look at the video for when you begin them.Slight spoilers about weapons and armor and booses in the video but i recommend it.
edit: People not further along the game please just hold off from watching if you only have the one chalice at the beginning

Last night I created a Root Dungeon. Do I need to redo the ritual to randomize it?

I dislike parrying. It makes for extremely boring and repetitive fights. The few "parry me" bosses when it is clearly the most viable strategy end up being really, really lame.

Continuing from my previous post. Fextralife says if you didn't talk to Eileen in her second location, you will not be able to finish her questline. Is this confirmed? Anyone on gaf who was able to finish her quest despite not talking to her in Church Ward (but interacting with her in every other way)?

I only talked to her at the rafters, never at the Ward, and her quest line has proceeded as normal for me.

does the guy on the gatling gun drop any good items? I tried to run away and his attack shot him off the edge and made it unreachable.

Just defeated R
om, the Shitty Spider
. This is seriously the most irritating boss in any of the souls games thus far. Took me about 10 tries :/

I never talked to her in the Church yet I finished her quest.
My encounters with her were

1) in the secret area in the sewers of Central Yarham
2) Father boss arena, fighting another hunter
3) Cathedral where you fight Vicar

What do you have to do to trigger number 2? I talked to her in sewers but she doesn't appear in the second spot for me yet.

I'm having a lot of trouble with that guy. How did you approach that fight?

He leashes to the steps at the foot of the church. If you want to cheese him, just walk up the ramp, he'll shoot once and then go into melee mode and charge you. If you have a charge up attack with a long reach (two-handed axe/two-handed ludwig's sword), you can just judge the distance and hit him be he reaches you. Then walk off the ramp, rinse and repeat. You can also him him through the fence a lot.

He likes to roll a lot. Just wait until he starts his roll and then use a heavy attack (one or two handed). You'll likely drop your weapon down on his head once his roll is done.

What is puzzling the hell out of me is why his damage output is so variable. My first few attempts and he was practically one-shotting me with his magic, and his pets were nearly as bad. After a few tries though (and no levelling) the damage seems to have lowered somewhat... very odd.

The random nature of the
long distance ice/arcane
attack is obnoxious. The only strat I could successfully utilize for avoiding that is spam roll/dodge and hope for the best...and half the time I would at least eat one hit if not 2. Tried rolling straight to the boss, away, to the sides, nothing reliably worked though.

I didn't have #1, but I did have the church. Whole quest worked for me.

This has probably been asked, but i purchased the OST and was wondering if there is any legal way to copy the soundtrack to any other device? I would like to add it to iTunes if possible.

I really have no fucking idea how to even approach this old fucking mountain of shit that is the
old one reborn
it's just way to powerful. It
vomits, it emit red light of doom, it rains corpses
on me I have no idea how do dodge, everything touches me even when I'm in these " safe " places

sure thing game

THANK YOU. Everyone here has been giving me different 'tips' on how to dodge. Some say to just run, others to sidestep, and some to avoid locking on and just roll. None of them work reliably, regardless of what direction you go in. It's complete horsesh*t. Especially considering how much damage those ranged attacks do.

If it wasn't for that, the fight would have been a cakewalk. Oh, that and the fact that the adds could one shot me with their leaping attack.

You're likely in an area that doesn't allow for it, but often you could be, like, five steps from where it is allowed. Just keep walking until it's not greyed out anymore and try again.

HALP!

I'm about to talk to the
Queen
in
Cainhurst Castle
, and I know I'm supposed to
kneel before her
. I don't have the gesture though. What to do??

Reload the game and his drop should be on the top of the building, and yes it's pretty good.

First of all, go to the back of the arena and up the stairs. This lets you kill the mob casters.

Then, just go behind him. Technically he has two behinds because it depends what mode he's in. Never lock in. Just run, that'll dodge all the projectiles, then get in close to bait his melee. Wait for the animation to end, swipe twice, get out and run around again.

Just keep running counter-clockwise, it's what I did. You'll take no damage from the ranged stuff and should be able to do the fight pretty easily.

You can do it, it doesn't matter. Technically makes you part of a covenant but none of the NPCs actually react to you as if you are (even though some of them really should).

EDIT: Misread - it's not a gesture. There should be a prompt on the ground in front of her.

If you run around and then smartly roll out of the way when he sends them off, the crystals are laughably easy to avoid. I think I got hit once?

You don't have enough vitality and aren't using
Tonitrus
.

I'm not good at the series, just enough to beat them but not excel, but the bosses are all pretty easy if stack Vitality and use the wildly overpowered weapon.

I find it very hard to stay behind some bosses when I hear that is the best strategy. Maybe it's because I am staying locked on them but they just constantly shuffle with me. Vicar is the example that comes to mind for me right now because she is who I am stuck on hah.

Is it better to just not lock on to them and try to stay behind them? I just find it easier to see what the hell she is doing by staying locked on to her.

Thanks, that was pretty useful. I'm almost done with my NG+ run but haven't touched a single chalice dungeon yet and that was a good explanation of them.
