these are the weapons i've gotten from CDs so far:
lost ludwig's
lost blades of mercy
lost burial blade
lost kirkhammer
lost reiterpallasch
still need that lost chikage.

and the old great one coldblood is the highest tier coldblood, i think.

I dunno I love basically every zone in this game except for
Nightmare of Mensis/Mergo's Loft
and even that's still leagues beyond the end-game areas of Dark Souls. The level design in this game is master class.

I've loved every zone too, essentially. The development of the aesthetics is really offputting/amazing. I'm looking forward to getting a grasp on the lore and exploring in a second play through.

Just started playing this morning. I haven't encountered the Cleric boss yet, but I have found 2 insight in my wandering around. If I pop one of those, will the doll awaken or is it only done through that first boss fight?

Also... for that boss fight, should I upgrade my Ax? Or is it ok to go in with it unleveled. Thinking I'll just need to make sure I have max vials and plenty of molotovs.
You know quite a lot, even though you just started the game this morning.

Damn, dying more often at R
om
trying to help ppl as i needed to beat it alone ... This damn
meteor
attack.

I found that if you dodge forward it tracks much less and has a lower chance of hitting. No clue why, but it did for me.

Highest Moon rune in the game. ~30% more echoes
.

Dangit :/ Oh well thanks. I think I have the 20% one so it's not a huge loss.

Now that it takes like 50k+ blood echoes to level up, whenever I have 20k blood echoes left over from leveling up, I always spend it all on blood vials just because I don't want to have to farm them if I'm banging my head against a boss.

And speaking of, I finally beat E
brietas.
After running into a wall against her 10+ times in a row, I just decided to come back to it after progressing through the story. M
ergo's
W
et
N
urse
really changed my state of mind on the E
brietas
fight. Rolling forward past an attack to get behind the enemy is way better than dodging back or to the side. E
brietas
seemed like a cakewalk after I kept dying over and over to her before.

Well, have to beat that one Hunter, then i'm going back helping ppl beat it. Summon after ringing the bell always took only 10-15 seconds.

So what's different, are they better? Just different rune type slots?

Finally get to play again tonight after beating Boss #3 (BSB) Sunday and getting Ludwig's Holy Sword. Looking forward to whatever is next!

Do you do anything special to level up this sword?

Oh god L
ogarius
on NG+. I knew he was glitched my first time but trying to learn his moveset on top of his super high damage output is annoying.

Regular version has mechanically been my favorite fight so far. It was stressful as hell solo, but in coop it's fun but still challenging.

I can confirm. I have hit a wall while killing an enemy and there was an in-dungeon shop with crazy prices and no new items (except for a new chalice type).

Which dungeon? Was it a root chalice dungeon or a regular? If it was a regular, can you be more specific?

Let me just say that the
instant death snake attack
that the very last S
hadow
of
Yharnam
uses is total bullshit. I almost won like...3 times before that fucking attack popped up out of nowhere and hit me.

I took a break because I literally had
the katana guy down to 2 hits, the candle guy down to 3 and when I swung at them with a charge and killed katana guy, the snake hit me from behind and killed me.
First time playing this game that I yelled at the screen.

The part of Forbidden Woods that's just Resident Evil 4 is fine, but the part that's piles of snakes everywhere is pretty weak sauce. They don't even really do much of anything, and while I can appreciate that the sheer same-iness of the environment makes it easy to get lost (like a forest), it doesn't do much for me aesthetically.

On the other hand, I really like Yara'ghul's aesthetics (aside from the very last part), but the "gimmicks" there wear on me pretty fast. I very quickly decided that there was no point in doing anything other than boss-run style sprinting through the zone, which is a shame when it has such nice vistas.

Comparatively, I take Forbidden Woods pretty slow and leisurely because of the gameplay mechanics, and instead I'm left with nothing interesting to look at. Maybe I'd be happy if the two were just reversed, and FW was the "sprint to win" zone while YG was the "slow and steady" area.

I think I'm at the endgame. The
hunter's dream is on fire and the gate is open.
The only thing I haven't explored in depth are the chalice dungeons. Outside of that is there any other side content I should check off? I have done
Paarl, Amygdala, Logarius, Ebrietas, and the quests for Alfred and Eileen as well as obtained the 3 umbilical cords.

you know that when enemies arent 1 shot by your +10 ludwig charge R2 in chalice dungeons shit is about to get real :o

disapointed that bosses can repeat tho, I just had the
3 fat watchers
again :/
Well you can't have expected infinite bosses! I'm not sure if this is correct but I heard there's 30 unique bosses in chalice dungoens which I think is pretty amazing

Did you
kill mother brain and get the blood rock
?

I don't know about anyone else but things I really don't miss from Dark Souls are:

  • "Praise the sun"
  • "Illusory wall ahead"
  • "tonge but hole"
  • homing crystal soulmass
  • actually, any magic that makes you look like a Christmas tree
  • backstab fishing
  • Havel's armor
  • poise stacking

Any tips for BSB? I keep getting whipped by him and the one time got the bell to work the guy got disconnected in the fight. It's getting tiring farming old yarnham just to replenish items.

So I just arrived at the fourth boss
Amelia
. Having quite some trouble with her. I'm not sure, I'm using the Hunters Axe, would it be better to use the 2h or 1h version?

Other tips are welcome as well.

Bit of late game spoilers

So I just started my ng+ run and I am standing right in front of the gate that leads to Father G's daughter. Thing is, she's playing her music box and I realize that its exactly the same theme as what plays during the wet nurse boss fight. I have no idea what this could mean, but it's pretty interesting regardless.

You need the proper chalice and some materials that can be found in previous chalice dungeon depths you've unlocked, or from the insight merchant.
I have 3 chalices and made dungeon with each.

Couldn't make an advanced version of the first 1.
When do I get the materials?

No Lost Izalith is a plus as well!

One thing I really do miss is refilling Estus Flasks. I don't know, but I'm just not enjoying Blood Vial farming. I'm at the point of no return, so there's an area that I've unlocked which lets me get so many Blood Echoes I can max out on vials in 10 minutes, but still. It just fucking sucks.

Did you beat BSB? People generally do him 3rd though it is optional

I'd love to see "The true Bloodborne starts here."

I do sort of miss having a "baseline" but returning to the old Central Yarnham farm route is a nice way to clear your head if something is frustrating. The system isn't perfect though, I'll admit that.

Im fine with repeating
story bosses
which I know happens, but I got the same boss like 2 depths down from the same chalice :)

Its bad but at this point I can't do shit with anything less than 15k of echoes anymore (over 25k to level up) so I buy Vials I have such a leftover.

Some of the chalice dungeons bosses are kinda hard. Especially since you get your HP halved, one mistake and you are dead. And they have tons of HP.

The main+optional bosses in the story are a cakewalk compared.

Seriously, I'm so sad that that was removed after Demon's Souls, I used to LOVE that message. I really wish I would have been able to put one down as soon as
the red moon appears and the horrors all over the buildings become visible
.

got my first hate mail from those pvp fights I did before. < 3

So what's different, are they better? Just different rune type slots?
only different gem slots.

honestly I hate that chalice dungeons are not shared between characters, gotta finish all the standard and easy ones again if I want to get decent gems with my second chara.
if co-op there wasn't a "1 time every 2 hours" thing it could probably be much more fun.
