Bloodborne |OT3| I Cane, I Saw, I Conqu- YOU DIED

Was having a pretty easy time with the game ever since the BSB boss, but I just arrived at Castle Cainhurst, and I can't get anywhere those things at the start kill me quick.

I just unlocked the Defiled Pthumerian Chalice. Will the dungeons finally be worth doing? So far they're really long and tedious and with terrible loot that doesn't motivate me from continuing. The only Depth 4 dungeon I'm missing is Hintertomb. I'm only by Depth 3. Should I go back and do that or can I just stick with Pthumerian, Loran, and Isz? It'd be nice if these stupid things at least had blood chunks.

I don't understand this... you're 1.5 hours into the game, not 5 minutes. Are you saying you're still in the first area? That's normal (at least for me it was). I explored Central Yharnam for many hours before managing to beat the first boss. Discover every secret you can.

Correct... Truth be told after almost 2 hours I was only a few enemies into the game. Kept getting killed by the armored out dude by the gate opposite to the way I should be going.

What are the mechanics!? :)

From what i understand,
you need to stay as close as possible otherwise he shoots crazy skull magic at you. If you are right beside him he attempts to melee you, which you can parry and attack for visceral damage. The problem is he has one move that quickly causes a skull to explode right in front of him and I can't detect it, and he just destroys me with it over and over.

Is NG+ really a harder then the 1st playthrough?
I mean, obviously the enemies are much stronger to keep the challange and the increased blood echoes, but is the experience actually harder, or almost the same challange?

Like previous souls games.

You know have experienced and are fully levelled. In DS1, the NG+ challenge comes around 30-40% through the game.

So I just beat the game...

And chose to accept death or whatever at the end, didn't realise that it would go straight into NG+ with the worst ending. And then I was pretty sad to read about so much stuff that I've missed out on.

Patch also fixed the item dupe glitch. Now I wish I used it just for the Chalice ingredients :(

OMG the grind for Chalice ingredients looks horrible.... I only have one Chalice dungeon opened and it's only three floors and I gotta run through it and kill everything over and over again hoping to RNG some more ingredients to unlock new Chalice dungeons... That's worse that grinding in Destiny!

Thanks. I'll get up close and personal when I've finished farming.

yeah... but now I am pissed because I want to take that dude out. Guess I need to buy better gear or LTP.

LTP = Learn to Parry. Yes, that's what you need to do. Because you can kill him in 1 or 2 hits with a parry. Face him straight up and when he raises his weapon hit L2, then R1.

The forest is next. Its in the main square of the town where you killed Amelia in, past one of the giant guys under an arch (which is to your right, assuming youre coming down the stairs from killing VA, and make a left.

Forbidden Forrest? The "need a password" door at the bottom of the stairs before you fought Amelia.

Ahh, thanks guys, I didn't realise I got a password. Can't wait for whatever's next.

My insight is 43 and this game is hard.

Huh? Just go through it normally, at the end you'll be rewarded with a new chalice for a deeper level of the same dungeon. As long as you explore each level all the way, you won't have to do any extra farming, you'll just have enough naturally.

I just beat that one. It's definitely a lot nastier than the 'original' but it still has some exploitable parry windows. The best ones are when it does the right arm swipe (not the dashing slash, that doesn't seem counterable) and its combo moves. It has one move where it bites then follows up with a very slow slash with its left claw, you can shoot him during that easily and he spams the fuck out of the move at low hp.

I'm sure there's an easier way but counters are what worked for me. I equipped a bunch of visceral attack improving runes too.

Also learn the tell for the grab, as it'll probably kill you. I was able to survive it with a tiny sliver of hp (enough time to chug a vial) but I've invested heavily in vit. I think I had around 36 or so.
Original? Isn't Bloodletting only in chalice dungeons? Are you thinking of Blood-starved?

PRAISE JESUS!

got my save from last night from the cloud...fuck me man, so glad it works now. Small recap for those that missed it this morning:

Couldnt sleep when I got home from work this morning so I decided "fuck it, lets finish the game". So I go ahead and kill
Gehrman
, fucker wasnt easy tbh but I still 1 shot him, and as SOON as I kill him, it hits me... I forgot to
eat the cords
>_>

So I thought I was fucked, but then peeps in the thread told me I could try and download a older save from the cloud, and I check and yup, my cloud save was from the night before (when I went to work), which would be perect. I go to download it and...nope, error CE-33116-4. I try everything, check online for fixes, nothing works. I give up, I thought "fuck it, maybe PSN is just having a brain fart", so I turn off auto upload of saves just in case it works later so it doesnt auto overwrite my save.

Fast forward to now, I check my cloud save and my save from last night is still there! And it downloaded this time! Fuck im happy

Ok, time to kill
Gehrman
again and then the
actual last boss
:D

Man,
Rom
is bullshit. Even though I got him stuck in his teleportation animation for a while and did some extra damage to him, his magic crap got me in the end.

Yup, I have enough materials for the next chalice and I just played normally. In no way are the Chalice Dungeons as grindy as the shit grind fest in Destiny.

What exactly happens during new game plus with my items and things I can buy. Does anything disappear from my inventory, or the messenger shop at the dream world?

You just need to collect the key items again... everything else remains in tact (levels, consumables, weapons etc.).

Is there anyway to increase the healing effect of blood vials ? Or is it a ceratin %?

There is a single rune that does it.
Give Alfred the unopened Cainhurst summons and then teleport to the throne room. Talk to him a couple of times and then kill him for it.

How do you use the new chalice for the deeper level of the same dungeon? I guess I got one of those... Do you have to reforge a new chalice dungeon with the new chalice for the deeper level and consume materials to do it? Stupid question I know sorry, but I was confused and I wasn't sure how to use the new chalice for the deeper level of the same dungeon...

lol now I cant kill
Gehrman

maybe the was the boss bugs were fixed :P

You'll have to create a new dungeon with the new chalice and materials. A chalice dungeon guide got added to the OP. Useful info there.

Sorry about that, but what did you get spoiled about? I've seen that NPC name mentioned several of times in this thread untagged. Its just a NPC's name, it has no relation to any other Souls games, so its not really much of a spoiler. Its also not really possible to use spoiler tags on urls. The black bars appear, but the url itself can still be read (its in blue text).

Names of NPCs and places in the game are mentioned several of times un-spoiled in this thread, so to avoid any of these type of spoilers, its best to not read much in this thread before beating the game (that is what i did).

Just ignore me, Im an idiot, haha. I've fought that NPC already. I was thinking that these things had returned for BB: http://demonssouls.wikidot.com/crow

Each occupied tombstone gives you access to that chalice's dungeon. But you only have to do the ritual once, you never have to do the ritual to consume the materials again. Doing the ritual the first time "unlocks" the dungeon, and from that point on, if you ever want to do it again, you can do a Search for someone else's dungeon of that chalice, and you can explore their dungeon without using the materials agian.

To use the new chalice you found, go find an empty ritual altar (i guess there are 6 or 7 lined up) and put down your chalice on the new altar using the required materials. Again, you only have to do this once per chalice at which point it will be doable through someone else's using the Search feature.

That Bloodborne sign you see in the loading screen looks like an incomplete sacrificial sign from Berserk:

I am sure I am not the first person to point this out.

Hi, men. Questions:

* After yesterday patch, I started to see the spectres pretty good, before that almost never.
* I didn't play online until yesterday, because I read some complains about how fast you can connect, but I tried and was a pretty good experience, every ring was succesful. Is this new?

By the way, I LOVE the game and I beat one boss a day (I'm on the witch right now, first try tonight).

Question about the game:

I spoke with a girl finding her mother... she gave me a musical box, I gave her a red jewel I think... she started to cry... I returned later, but now she's gone... here is she?

and

there is a hunter where I killed Father Gascoigne (I think that's the place) and I picked up there, running away from him (he attacked me), a "crow" set I can buy now... some people told me the crow (I saw him/her before and we talked) should appear somewhere else... is that right?

I don't know if I'm translating right some places or characters, I play on spanish...

After finally killing Eb
rietas
last night, I am all set to tackle the last few bosses and end this game. I've done all the optional areas and bosses and have loved every single second of it. Can't wait to wrap it up and finish exploring the last couple areas and then dive into NG+.

Yup, I have enough materials for the next chalice and I just played normally. In no way are the Chalice Dungeons as grindy as the shit grind fest in Destiny.

So far the only thing I've had to farm was Arcane Haze for doing the Defiled Chalice Ritual. That sucked. Otherwise yea it's way better than Destiny.

I think this may be another souls game I never finish by the looks of it. Not only is
The One Reborn
a tough boss but the whole area is impossible. The big monsters hit like trucks and are fast as anything, they even come in groups. Then there's the
3 hunters
who are practically untouchable due to the onslaught they can rein down.

I was really looking to beat this game but I don't think I'm gonna have much more steam left. I feel like I just hit another DS2 area of bullshit. I've hardly fought anything in this area because it all flurries me to death in one go.

Ok but I have 40 hours in the game, and I did one Chalice Dungeon and I killed every enemy in it and I opened every single chest in it and I picked up everything and I never destroyed anything in my inventory and still I don't have enough materials to perform any other Chalice ritual for any of my other Chalices... At least that's what I remember from earlier... So I have to regrind the same Chalice Dungeon to try to RNG more materials to perform another ritual even just to do the same Chalice Dungeon of a deeper level right?

So I just beat the game...

And chose to accept death or whatever at the end, didn't realise that it would go straight into NG+ with the worst ending. And then I was pretty sad to read about so much stuff that I've missed out on.

Same thing happened to me, I felt like i missed 90% of the game. They should add a dialog box that asks if you want to proceed to NG+

Anyone got any advice for that fucker at the end of
Eileens
quest? He is impossible.

Wait for him to pull out his katana and he'll drain his own life, just dodge all his moves and he'll get pretty low by himself. (I had to beat him on NG++, it was hard af.)
