. I can't even count how many times I have attempted this guy. I have had bad luck like getting knocked off the edge of the roof or getting him down to low health and then just making a stupid mistake. So over this boss. I'm just ready to be done with him :(

Or you can do this:
Go down the stairs, throw a pebble at the mace dude, then have him follow you up there. There's no room for him to get around you and his basic attack is super, super easy to parry. Just parry him until dead, then kill gun guy the way you described.

Nothing new like that, just buffed enemies. I think it's kinda lame.
 
Fucking hell I have the broken elevator bug. I was at the last secret boss
Ebrietas
and now I can't retry the fight at all, the elevator wont come up and the patch did nothing to fix this.

I'm fucking pissed off. That was the last thing I had left to do on my run.

Enemies inside the castle are WAY WAY easier than those spider thing outside.
 
The art in this game is the best I have seen this gen.

I thought that might be the case but none of them had it. I killed him but still cant find it. I'm think it may have ended up somewhere else or i some how lost it by killing him before picking it up.
 
For fucking sake... I was with 16, now I'm with 11 insights, and I can't summon a single person! Just summoned before it, like 40~50 minutes ago! Holly damn.... that's frustrating!

also squid guys are BY FAR the worst fucking things in this game
impossible to parry, huge damage, paralysing attacks, steal your shit
no fuck them to hell

question about u chathedral though
If I cheesed one of those squid guys through the door and got the key, do I even need to go upstairs? will I loose anything of value by not exploring up there properly?

Neither do I, that's why I was confused. I thought you could put different stuff in the chalice to generate different dungeons.
 
I got captured and
thrown in prison
by those bag guys today. Lord, that place was horrendous. Found some neat stuff though, like a
set of armor
and a
lightning mace
. Too bad I've got a skill-build. :(

One time, in cathedral ward, I couldn't find my echoes and about 10 minutes later after I'd given up a random enemy nowhere near where I was had them.

There's a gesture, that's about it. And calling werewolves lycans lol. That's just what it reminds me of now.
 
Since armor can't be upgraded in this game, I've been collecting a lot of the armor sets. Spending insight and blood more than I probably should. It is kind of cool switching gear more frequently to deal with specific threats. Still trying to decide on the best general purpose gear.

80 something I think. The Boss there was the hardest in the game imo.

Pro tip: always send the elevators back after you use them so you can get back faster if you die. It also prevents troubles like this.
 
What's the purpose of equipping the torch? I see fine in dark places and I always have my gun equipped. Is there something I'm missing here?

I personally thought the mace hunter was much easier than the rifle spear hunter.
 
I felt dirty but after three playthroughs I had to look up how to get the
Doll set
. I can't believe I forgot about that place. I attempted to get to it quite a few times and put it in the back of my mind ever since.

When he
goes crazy and sends swords flying everywhere, you can target the sword stuck in the ground and shoot it to stop this attack
. Made the fight a lot easier. Just stunlocked him whenever possible otherwise. Still a pretty tough fight unless you have a lot of VIT.

Yes, there si something useful up there.
You learn a gesture, and later in the game that gesture earns you a Rune.

I love this fight but it takes a while to get used to. You can destroy his sword in the ground that sends little flying swords out simply by shooting it. You can even lock on. Secondly, you can parry almost all his sword/scythe attacks. So just be patient and kill him with viscerals.

Are you overleveled for the boss?
Do you have a password set?
Do you have network set to Worldwide instead of Local?

Insight is also not something that is in short supply. Don't worry about "wasting" it. Help out people and get it back or invade if you're feeling sinister.

Your brightness must be up too high. I used it all the time when I couldn't see shit. It has a nice fire attack anyway so even without it being a light source it's useful.
