When you're one hit away from killing a boss. You get greedy and go in for an unsafe final hit and get rekt for being an impatient dumbass. The answer to why it still happens is that turning off one's lizard brain is hard as hell. Souls games are mean about bosses. The optimal way to go into a fight with one mentally is to be devoid of all anxiety or fear, so of course, they're all anxiety inducing and terrifying.

a budist monk would be the worlds best Souls player :p

its when you get greedy and you spam the attack button because the boss is almost dead, and you die because he stun locks you or something
I think he just means getting greedy when a boss is almost dead.

Ah ok, that i know about :) I thought maybe it was some special way to finish a boss, like doing a more stylish finishing move (like a charged attack or jumping attack).

That's the only thing I've seen.
It would be cool if there were more.

I don't know when this triggers but I'm pretty far into the game. You should go back and visit
the coughing man and the window with the little girl from time to time.

All I've been leveling up is Vitality, Endurance and Skill and I've got Skill at 40 now.

Also got them to +8 and these things can put in work if you have the stamina to keep hitting and not letting up.

They scale decently with Arcane too! Also their attack speeds up as you keep stabbing so the best use for them is when you can get an opening to just keep stabbing, often keeping an enemy stunlocked for the entire time. They have a great attack after dodging too with very quick recovery so they're a good weapon for keeping close to enemies and constantly poking for damage without remaining open for too long.

How do you get back to H
ypogean
G
aol
after killing R
om and the lamp becomes inactive? Apparently it's something to do with Yahar'gul, but I don't know which Yahar'gul lamp to use and where to go from there
. I've beaten eight bosses so far if that matters.

Don't worry. It will open again once you beat another boss.

Im getting my ass beat all the time at
old yarhnam by the hunter in the top of the building firing at me, everytime i climb the tower to fight him i loose cause the space is so thin and hes so fast
can anyone help me ?

It might not help if you don't have the reaction time to do it, but it might be useful to know that
if timed correctly, you can actually dash through bullets and buckshot when locked onto a shooting enemy. The way I got him was by dashing through his initial shotgun blast and then beating on him till he fell off the tower.

Coop works great for me now. Here is how I do it with my buddies:

Boot up from off state. (Do NOT come out of rest mode)

Set to "worldwide"

Set password to a very unique name. I.E. "gav6t3m" (do not use common word like death, blood, etc)

Both parties be at lamp in same world. Do NOT move your character around while waiting or access any menus.

Summoner ring LAST. Have the person you are wanting to come help you ring first. After 5 seconds, you ring your beckoning bell.

After 5 sessions, reboot ps4.

It might be a fluke but I have used this method at least 15 times in the last 2 days and the longest it took was 2 minutes. Summoned 2 friends over and over at different places.

Not science by any means but thought I'd share.

actually ran out of bullets in storage too, huh

(from using the
Shell
during the fight)

How about Ghandi?

You'll get back there by going through the Unseen City which is done by taking the path to the right of the cathedral where you fought Vicar Amelia

So do the blood vials increase in price as you gain insight or as you progress the game (i.e. kill bosses)? The reason I ask is I've kept my insight hovering around 10 or so for a good portion of the game, because I thought the prices would jump again if I got any higher. That and I hear the
enemies get tougher
as you gain insight.

Is there any reason I shouldn't just eat madman's knowledge and grab more insight for fun?

How do I get to the Cainhurst Castle being mentioned and is it optional? I just defeated the S
hadow
of Y
harnam
and haven't progressed yet passed the B
rygenworth
lantern yet. I was going to go to the
Nightmare Frontier
next but I don't want to miss anything. Where should I go next?

Hmm... that's around the level I was during that boss so I'd think you'd be able to find other people. I'm way past the summoning range for that otherwise I'd try and help. Maybe you can try and coordinate with another gaffer.

Yeah, if some gaffer wants to come in just tell me.

I tried everything... Even restarting the PS4 and no... I can't summon anymore. The online mode is f*****!

Hahaha, I just laughed my ass off haha
I knocked down a pig and did a visceral attack from behind, didn't know that was possible

I assumed they increased in price the more you buy

Beat
Gehrman
last night, best final boss of the games and up there overall (I still think Maiden Astraea is the best). Not so easy that I rolled him and not so hard that I felt cheesed when I died.
I wish there were more hunter boss fights, its weird that the only ones were the second and last boss

Overall I think Demon's is still a better game, but this is a very close second.

Question regarding an aggro NPC who can be friendly:
I'm in NG+ and wanted to make Djura friendly this time, but I have no idea what the fuck to do. I'm reading that you can't go to Hypogean Gaol and kill darkbeast and thus enter from the other side of the map, unless you have already killed blood starved beast. If you kill blood starved beast then you'd have to go through Old Yar and he would be aggroed...what the hell are you supposed to do?

So far I agree. I've even summoned a few people and we all die.

Like all bosses in any of these games, there's a few important tricks to her that once you know them, you can overcome her pretty reliably. And she is definitely not the hardest boss in the game. A few of the ones off the beaten path are much more difficult.

Kill Vicar Amelia to spawn the sack guys.

OK WTF just lost 20k souls to the
snakehead
how does he have so much fucking health? he just wouldn't die after 8 molotovs and several hits with my +5 cleaver....

Did the patch fix the controller vibration and removed the ability to hit dying enemies for some extra health? Just did a short session but it might be because I tried another weapon, and I don't think I've had vibration before.

Pretty sure the dying enemy thing is a feature.

That doesn't surprise me. As with the souls games the game is just designed to fuck you around every corner. I wish I could do the item dupe so I could fuck it right back.

I got cocky on one last night after getting a backstab in and assuming he was just about finished.

He wasn't.
