Do you guys feel like Bloodborne drops in quality towards the end just like Dark Souls did? I didn't really like the areas or enemies in the second half of the game and many bosses were pretty bad as well.

Not at all. I haven't done the final boss yet but all of the end game (
post-Rom
) stuff has been fantastic. Much stronger than Dark Souls in terms of late game level design and some incredible bosses imho.

Got Skill & Vit to 50. Not sure where to focus next. I'm using Burial Blade as my main weapon, with Blades of Mercy as backup just incase I need fast weps for something/pvp. What should I put points into next, STR, Arc, End, or more Vit?

Put some points in STR.

Endurance pretty much stops increasing your stamina after 40 so that would be useless and some skill weapons actually scale with STR a little too so yeah.

Jesus, whats with everyone pumping points to 50 without so much as touching their other stats? No wonder you guys are having a hard time with some stuff, 25 vit is not smart for endgame :/

I don't know man.

The game does use an assortment of dark colours and designs are downright gorgeous.

I honestly think will still look beautiful, even when it gets outdated technically one day.

The world they put together is astonishingly coherent and gorgeous.I couldn't ask for more in a game's world design.

Everything you said applies to every souls game imo (yes even 2) so /shrug. This series is just gorgeous artistically if not always technically.

The hyperbole around BB is so weird to me. It reminds me of people gushing over Blazblue years ago saying there was nothing like it, and I'm sitting there going "err there's these Guilty Gear games by the same developer that did all this before"

cant... stop.... playing

Finally started Chalice dungeons, just wrecking fools from the beginning all the way to the Lorain one. Gonna do defiled next and all I have to do is beat the game 1 more time (NG++) and I have my first platinum ever :P

Could easily exceed my 300 hours of Dark Souls 2 playtime. At the very least my 150+ of DS1.

That's a tough question. I actually think Dark Souls II gets better throughout though, I found the areas after
Drangleic Castle
to be the most fun and memorable. Bloodborne is the best showing by FAR, though. It's the quality level of the beginning of Dark Souls stretched across an entire game. I've really been amazed by the consistency of Bloodborne, especially being a long time fan of the series and knowing that while it's all good, some areas are usually better than others.
I agree that the levels are designed very well but I've not really loved any of the locations after Cathedral Ward. Except the castle. I would rank this game last of the four in terms of locations. Demons Souls far and away the best, then DS2, then DS with BB last for me.

have fun with that

I got the plat in Dark Souls & DS2 but the defiled dungeon is really testing me ;__;

I hope there's a way to fight the final boss of the dungeons, maybe by summoning, without having to go through defiled, it's just bullshit and tedious

I don't know why I keep reading this thread. All these people venting frustrations on hard-ass bosses I haven't seen yet is really intimidating. I wouldn't panic as much seeing a new boss if I hadn't just read posts saying how hard he is.

Just got to Father G for the first time and was like "oh shit all these people said this guy is really hard!" So I flailed around like an idiot and got my ass killed.

When I finally beat Cleric Beast I had taken a 5-day break. First time I got to him after the break I just relaxed and took my time, worked around him and beat him on the first try no problem. Easier said than done but keeping cool seems to be so key to this game (like the Souls games).

aarl
was really hard for me. Took me quite a few attempts. I finally learned to not use the greatsword part of my weapon until I had used the
smaller sword to break his legs and get him on the ground. He's way too fast otherwise.

Finished the game and watched all the endings. That was awesome. Final boss was great. Tough fight. Took a couple of retries. I'll try getting the rest of the trophies this week.

Lol those pictures are great.

Might as well share my favorite pic I took.

If too spoiler filled lemme know and I can take it off.

I liked your doggie more.

Beat NG+ Rom on my second try. I used the
beast blood pellet before the fight. I barely know how this mechanic works, but figured some more DPS wouldn't hurt. Used Burial Blade +8 and kept the spiders alive.
Now I have access to Upper Cathedral and the blood stone chunks can flow.

I've played all the souls games and BB feels like a quality jump to me. I loved DS1 and DeS, but the flow of combat is something I prefer in a big way. Oddly enough I love the dropping of the shield too, it plays into my play style better anyway and means the mechanics are catered more towards it. The stats in souls games have always been pretty damn elusive to me despite hundreds of hours in them, but in BB they make more sense, even if the reduction is a bit disappointing. World design etc, I could go on, but as somebody who has played them all I'd warrant the changes as significant enough for someone to be crazy for the game all over again. I'm having a lot more fun than I did with any of the souls games personally.

Fuck went afk and almost killed myself with the -7hp draining gem I had just put in my weapon and totally forgot about it. Swapped weapons at 5% hp :P

Are there +21% gems without the HP drain?

I don't understand why people still talk about the Souls games like they are SO slow and destroyed by shields.

Apparently you haven't played dex builds in DS1. You're like a damn ninja, just as quick or quicker than in Bloodborne, rolling and hopping around like crazy.

Where do I go after I beat Rom? I'm getting absolutely destroyed in the unseen village.. (I tried to go to hypgoen to fight Darkbeast Paarl but it seems to be locked off now..)

How do I farm Chalice materials? When I go to my Chalice again, everything I already picked up is gone. Do I have to keep creating it?

Question after Boss 3 fight:
I got transported to a prison with the tall burlap sack dudes walking around after I fought one of them and died. I went to the bottom of the stairs and found a girl crying...can I get her to Cathedral Ward's safety? If so, how?

I dunno maybe I just always leaned down that route, but honestly a shield has always seemed like the safest option to me and most of the rest left for the hardcore DS players. I never really dared to try anything else since I figured I wouldn't have the skill to get by. After BB breaking my play style a bit whilst leaning toward offense (just realized I play offensive and carry a shield for safety, go figure) I'm pretty tempted to grab DS2 on ps4 and try building a character that suits my play style more. I guess I just never felt I could actually do it but BB forced me to try. Hell I almost skipped on BB due to the lack of shields at first, what a swing effect it's had. I really should go back to the old games afterwards.

Trying to finish Eileen's quest. Does anything drop Numbing Mist? The last hunter dodged most of my shit, I hit him with a mist then I got careless and got hit by a charge attack right when he was about to die. Now I'm out of mists...

Wear a piece of Church gear (Father G set works too)

If they haven't fixed the cheese, just let him transform his Chikage to BT form and run to the entrance, and he'll walk back to his spot while still draining his hp.

you have to wear a black church set to talk to her. I wouldn't send her to the cathedral. She will kill another npc there

Damn these games and their secrets. Did anyone find this hidden house in
old yarnham
? You can see it at around the 18min mark in the latest mfpallytime video.

There's even a pretty bawler looking armor there too (well at least for the level you would be if you found that), love the cape.
