Can someone explain what the Blood Gem upgrades mean, my soul cleaver has all these gems added to it which gives Physical Atk up and it's at +106, what does that mean? Because the actual 171 Physical attack damage stat doesn't change.

Oh lord... I am so god damn lost... where is
blood starving beast
?

The very end of Old Yarhnam.

The weapons total ATK is X + Y, so that one would actually have a total ATK of 277. You can see those totals in your character screen. The numbers are X) The absolute physical attack of the weapons current level, irrelevant of all other modifiers and Y) is the total combination of all modifiers and stat bonuses.

Can anyone tell me if Stake Driver is worth getting? I have a Saw Cleaver +3, Saw Spear +3 and Kirk hammer +3. I almost exclusively use the Cleaver because it does way more damage than the other 2. Stake Driver looks cool.. but since I am short on time and echoes... I just wanted to know if its worth buying for 8000?

i don't know if i just got lucky but (chalice boss)
Bloodletting Beast
was incredibly easy despite some of his moves looking impossible to dodge

(chalice)
defiled chalice
sounds like it could be really annoying

Is there an easy way to get pass the
Gatling Gun Hunter
? Was going that route but there has to be another way...

Nope. You'll have to find your way that a-way. You'll likely want to kill his ass while you're making your way down. Edit: Oh yeah, there was 'nother way. See below. Ofc, that route isn't any easier per se, just.. different :p

I know a lot of people have had trouble with Rom, but I was able to beat him pretty easily by
maxing out my Arcane defense, killing all the babies first, and using the Tonitrus. The Bolt damage on the Tonitrus really melted through the baby spiders, even when you hit them on the head. The Arcane resistance helped a *ton* in not getting killed immediately by the magic attacks.

Co-op

srsly, I gave up and had to summon someone. She's so fucking hard
.

Actual tip: maybe try locking on? Dashing might be more useful than rolling in that situation. I'd stay unlocked otherwise.

Targeting big E seemed like a death sentence.

I see you trying to get people to die.

Forbidden Woods.
through the door at the bottom of Cathdral Ward

Time for a copy/pasta:

There is a door that asks for a password in the Cathedral Ward.
You got the password from watching the cutscene when you fiddle the giant skull on the altar after killing Vicar Amelia.
From the big center plaza with 2 giants, you go via the small doorway that leads to a crow and a small cthulhu-man/mindflayer. There is a passage to your left. Just follow that path to the end. Don't break the barrels and whatnot to get to the villager mobs, that is not the way.
Nice, thanks fellas.

Finally got around to doing Chalice Dungeons and got my Platinum. Last boss of it was kind of ridiculously easy. Just need to do the 4 Chalice Dungeons that weren't required and I'll have done every single thing, woo.

Currently at like, level 223. 50/40/50/50/33/50. 17 more levels until full soft cap max.

Finally got the second shortcut in the
forbidden forest after going the wrong way and getting nuked by some mars attacks looking freaks.

I ended up just running past everything to get my echoes back and try another direction.

Thankfully it was the right one. I know where the boss is in there, should be interesting.

Oh wow I'm a moron. I just realized E
brietas's
area you go through is the 2nd floor of the grand cathedral.
I realized it yesterday, forgot, and your post blew my mind.
It's gets more interesting - it's just the balcony and
the plantpeople patch that's up there. Ebrietas's actual arena and the Altar of Despair is on the lower floor, reached through an elevator, placing it right behind Amelia, where she prayed in front of another altar with its pretty and clean totally-a-not-space-monster-cult religious imagery.

Just explored
Yhar'ghul and found the Yhar'ghul armor set. It looks bad ass but has by far the weakest stats.
One of my only gripes to this other wise great game.

Watch the original reveal trailer again :P

Someone mentioned it before me, by killing the
darkbeast paarl
you will open a door after that boss fight which leads you behind him. Sadly for me, I found that out AFTER I already got past him, which took me forever. My strategy was where he first starts to shoot at you, you can fall. Fall down there and hide behind a statue. Your gonna need at least a blood vial or 2 cuz u will take damage. After that just run straight just right of the statue. There will be a ladder which leads you up to him and u can take him out, or just ignore it and go in the castle/building thing a little further back with the boss inside.

Okay so I just went to 0 insight out of nowhere. Pretty sure it's a glitch because I had 25, entered a chalice dungeon I'd already played about halfway through, and suddenly had zero. Anyone have anything like this happen to them?

Through the village in the forgotten woods where some hounds are in pens, there is a pathway that will take you to a cave. Go through the cave (careful, giants and poison) and get to the ladder, climb up it, and end up somewhere interesting)

Well I'm here in the C
linic.
. I haven't found much except for an NPC lady. Should I attack her?

Farming Location? And what is your discovery stat? Boosting it with the 'eye' runes makes a whole difference to getting 'dem rare drops.

Any recommendations for STR weapon on NG+? Played the first playthrough with basically the axe.

Trying out Ludwigs Holy Blade and Kirkhammer but they both suck donkey balls in comparison. Less range, slower attacks, waaaaaaaaay less ability to stunlock opponents or take them to the ground (strange, because you'd think both their transformations would be heavier than the axe).

Ludwigs is amazing. Only other big STR item is
Logarius's Wheel

Gawd damn. Beat the game. Got the true ending. Two of those last three bosses (
Ebrietas and Gehrman
) were seriously exhausting, gave me a lot of trouble. My stats at the end of one playthrough are:

Level 89
VIT - 32
END - 34
STR - 12
SKL - 35
BLD - 10
ARC - 16

Now the question is, do I go into NG+ with my current character or go make a new character with a different build? :o

I still used the axe all through NG+.

The best scaling strength weapon is the
wheel
but it's goddamn slow. Axe really just seems like the most versatile one.

Just cause I beat you with a greatsword looking hilarious does not mean you send me 3 messages asking my strat, why I use my wep, and then the third being a friend request.

Mainly the friend request made me go huh

I mean....
Thats weird, right guys? I didnt know him at all. I played him for 2m....I dont really care about the former two, but still :/

You destroyed him in mortal combat and brought great shame not only to him, but his family as well. He is now in your debt. Why won't you be his Senpai, Soulflarz?

Now I suddenly feel like I'm back in toonamigaf where everyone calls me Soul-chan/Tsundere, but it somehow got into bloodborneGAF >.>

A-and because I dont want to be his senpai!
Baka!

Shadows of Yharnam
on NG+ are frustrating the hell out of me, strolled in there pretty confidently as I one shot it on my first run and have one shot everything else so far in NG+, the last 5% of the fight is the hardest, just instantly getting fucked over and have gotten to that point about 5 times now. Need to take a break.
