I can't fast travel to Hypogean Gaol? Why? I just killed the three hunters there, what else do I have to do?

You can't fast travel there after you've killed Rom. But if you haven't yet killed Rom, in the hub area, use the grave stone that is two to the left of the main one, to teleport back to that Hypogean Goal lamp.

At 15 insight you
can see the lesser Amygdala's clinging to the sides of buildings. Go to the grand cathedral, go out the door and take the left path past the two hunters and down the hill past the executioner looking guy. You'll find what you're looking for...for better or worse. :)

Oh shit, I thought it meant the
sack people
that transport you, not them.

Really basic question....do you need to kill the first boss (or possibly just encounter it) before you can start leveling up your strength, skill, etc.? I've only played a little while but so far the only things I've found that I can use blood echoes for are repairing my weapons and buying the healing things.

Before you kill
Rom
, the sack people take you to the
Unseen Village
, yes. But after you kill
Rom
, the
spiders on the buildings also transport you there, and it's a totally different version of the Unseen Village. A much more hostile and sinister place than it already was.

Edit: Actually, not sure if all the
spider things
send you to the
Unseen Village
or if it's just the one near the Grand Cathedral.

No but you need one insight in order to wake up the doll who allows you to level up. You can get one insight by encountering but not necessarily beating the first boss.

Thanks for the help everyone, I'm there now.

I wish BB bosses gave you some kind of crafting item like in DS, I'm on NG+ and when it comes to the optional bosses I sometimes don't feel like there's enough incentive to beat them since I don't get anything special =/

you just need insight to level up.
encountering a boss gives you 1 insight, beating a boss gives you 3.

but you can also find items, that give you insight and there are 2 of these items in the first area.

Just encounter it.

Oh my fucking God how do I kill (8th+ boss)
Micolash? I know I'm missing something. I run around after him until he traps himself the first time and then I spank his ass to half life. At that point he Obi Wan's out and I chase him around some more until he runs into a room and locks himself in. How do I get in there? I'm searching around, but not seeing anything. Last time I jumped off the weird missing bridge that appears to lead to a latern? I'm assuming that I'll be able to cross that once I kill this little tool.

I figured it out. I'm dumb.

Just how hard is blood borne? I've played and completed dark souls twice however I'm worried blood borne will tear me a new one...
I've played Demon's Souls and Dark Souls 1 (playing DkS2 on Tuesday for the first time), I found Bloodborne to be harder than DeS and DkS1 for about the first 50% of the game. The boss fights were difficult, but not impossible (except for one optional boss I had a hell of a time beating), and the last few bosses seemed like a cakewalk to me. Maybe I just got gud, though. ;]

Look for a set of stairs that goes up to a room with a hole in the floor.

ok, about the third ending (spoilers obviously)
did I got turned into a tentacle monster? WTF FROM

I'm not quite sure what happened there. Personally, I think the first ending (accepting Gherman's offer) is the best ending, at least for what I understand. Refusing his offer had a poor ending, and the "true" ending just confused me.

No, you just become a slug and the doll pours salt on you. RIP in peace. :]

But by eating the umbilical cords, you become the vessel to become the next great one. You are now going to be an awful monster like the ones you were consumed with killing.

the achievement sure says you got reborn, so I assume that... shit, is me.
I knew that "true" ending was going to be shit, wish I hoped to get another one, but I didnt want to fight the final boss in NG+ just in case he as too hard (turns out he was so easy).

Yeah, really hate that, but... this is FROM, so expected lol

God damn it. The first time I fought E
brietas
(D
aughter
of the C
osmos
), I got her down to less than a quarter of her health left and thought that it didn't seem that bad. Now, I can barely take off a quarter from the start of the fight.
The stupid charge attack is nigh undodgeable if I'm too close, but I need to be close to bait her into doing an attack that'll leave her vulnerable. Funnily enough, I take less damage if I don't try dodging it and just take it head-on, but that'll leave me with a sliver of health that will cost me 2 vials each time if I get lucky enough to survive
.

I really hate bosses you can't parry in this game since it feels like a much more important mechanic this time around.

I feel your pain.

It's her lasers that are cutting me into ribbons. One volley and I'm toast.

Those assholes destroyed the lantern :(

There's one reallllly close though. Once you unlock the shortcut that lamp doesn't matter.

Edit: Wow, really late. I need to refresh the page more often in this thread.

Same level, a little more hard for some bosses but there is nothing that is as bad as those two assholes from Dark Souls. The chalice dungeons have some bullshit difficulty spikes and the last few places in the real game have some aggravating set pieces, but in all it's not that bad. If you beat Demon's Souls than this game should be fun (and frustrating) for you.

Basically, I spoke to Eileen before killing FG, came back to Oedon Temple later on only to be attacked and killed by FG's hunter bro with no other NPS in sight. I come back to reclaim my echoes to see him taking a bit of damage, then I get a bunch of echoes as if I killed something. After I killed him I found a rune on the ground.

So he just killed her off screen, robbing me of my chance to do her quest, right? Did I miss much?

no.

Well just platinumed bloodborne! Didn't think I'd do it before I got it but I did!
I heard yharnam was the hardest boss but I didnt think so actually, I've had more trouble with previous ones.

Really great game, I think it is the best game on PS4 so far for me. I did think whether I would be in favour of dlc for this, and I do like the idea of "complete games", but for this I would definitely love to see more bloodborne.

on my first try. Definitely one of the easiest boss battles.

Some tips if you want a much easier time of it. Spoilers obviously.

First equip and buy some Blood Molotov's or whatever they're called. Molotov cocktails filled with blood instead of alcohol. You'll need around 3-5 depending on your level and how well you pull this strategy off.

Then when you enter the boss fight, quickly light your weapon on fire with a fire paper (this will add fire damage to your weapon, and has to be done in the menu). After that, once he's gotten fairly close to you, lob a Blood Cocktail somewhere in the middle of the room, and as he walks over to it (his rear should be visible to you), hit him with an R2 charge attack, followed by a visceral attack when he's stunned. If you're using the Axe, double handed R2 won't leave him stunned for a visceral attack, so you need to use the one handed R2 charge instead. After he's been visceral attacked, he'll get up and continue walking towards the Blood Molotov on the floor you threw earlier. I believe he swipes at it twice before giving his attention back to you. So when he starts walking over to it a second time, just repeat the above. One Blood Molotov throw will net you two R2 charge attacks and two Visceral attacks if you time it well.

Rinse repeat this strategy, dashing away and keeping a safe distance from him to heal when you need to, and it should be fairly easy.

Thanks Nib. Will try again later tonight. Been playing all day, so I took a little rest and went dinner outside with my wife and kids. I feel fresh and ready for some bloodborne again :)

YEAH take that Martyr Logarius! This is no country for old men bitch!
Im gonna take your crown and Im gonna take your woman!
Probably took me 15 times to kill him, and I was so close to dying at the end. I had 5% health back,no vials and no bullets.

This feels so good.

I think it depends on the type of Souls player you are. I seemed to steamroll the first few bosses then hit a bit of a wall. There are some legit hard bosses in there but nothing too cheap thankfully besides a few one-hit moves.

Ok. After a terrible day of dying to
BSB
multiple times, I'm coming into today with a renewed spirit and determination.
BSB
WILL DIE TODAY. First however! Gonna farm these wolves over by the O

Theres a
hole in the floor above him. Go up one level and you can drop down on him.

Pretty much at the end now, spoke to
you know who
but didn't make a decision. I'm going to do some trophy clean up before the final encounter and NG+.
