I went the back way in Old Yharnam and the NPC who uses the
machine gun
up top is
hostile
...
i thought he is supposed to be friendly if you go the back way so you could talk to him..

did i understand it correctly that i can only get summoned in an area where i haven't defeated the area boss myself?

who says that? you can only summon other people when the boss isnt dead in your world but not the other way around afaik..

I'm being premature here. For some reason I thought 2 weeks instead of a month was the OT turnover.

ohhhh aight I've never stuck around long enough in a game to even be a part of that i think :P

I finished the game today, and I've decided to make a new character and try to get platinum. What do I have to think about to be able to not ruin any trophys and get the
best ending
?

New to the GAF, new to the Souls universe. I beat the game just under ~50 hours, got 3rd ending after consuming the
umbilical cords
. This truly is one of the most amazing, gut wrenching, and most beautiful games I've ever played. The music draws you in, the atmosphere draws you in, you want to know what's going to happen next. You are afraid to walk into that dark room, torch in hand and the hip lantern lit. You see that dark blood red or dark blue eyes staring directly at you only approach and be shanked by some hunched over witch who's now slitting your throat. I love everything about this game.

It's almost sad that this was released before DS2 for the PS4 as I now feel going to play DS2 when it releases will be a step back from BB in terms of game play and graphics but I'll probably do it anyway. It was hard but an enjoyable ride. I kept my insight high, I ended the game with 91 insight I believe. I've only had to summon another play for help once, and that was vs
Martyr Logarius (FUCK THAT GUY!)
other than that it was all done solo and it was one hell of a ride.

Currently going through the chalice dungeons, recently unlocked the defiled chalice. I'd give this game a solid 9/10. I only take away 1 point from a perfect score because as with all Souls games from what I've read, you're left to figure out wtf is going in terms of story.

The game isn't that far ahead of dx11 DS2 in terms of visuals. Any lack of extra effects is made up by 60 frames and smooth online play in DS2.

I wouldn't call Bloodborne a souls game though. I'd call it a souls-like, but the combat is pretty different in the souls game in terms of playstyle (a lot of the core concepts are the same). The souls games are slower paced, more build variety, a fantastical setting, more weapon choices, rolling costs more endurance and isn't as fast, drinking a pot isn't nearly as fast as a vial, getting hit is much more punishing in souls as you can't regen, there are more traps and the environment is much more deadly (there's nothing like Sen's Fortress for example, in Bloodborne). There's also environmental puzzles/hidden walls that aren't in bloodborne. Though if you do go an offensive build in Dark Souls the boss fights usually aren't as long as they are in bloodborne. I like that payoff and there's not really a comparison in bloodborne. Also magic is handled way different and you can build a ranged focused character (though imo it's more fun to play melee, I like fooling around with the other builds after I beat the games).

- find the pretty whore in the streets below the cathedral ward and send her to oedon chapel for safety
- dont kill Iosefka until after rom, after rom go to here and finish her off. (or was it after the wet nurse? idk just make sure she's sitting in doggy position on a table instead of walking around).
- find the abandoned workshop and loot it before finishing the game
- backup a save before the final boss instead -i meant in case- anything goes wrong or you need more other endings
- collect all 3 chalices from the optional bosses in the main game (BSB, Ebrietas and Amygdala)

this a known bug yes:

There is glitch with the elevator for the Ebrietas boss area that currently has no workaround except going back to her area in New Game+. To avoid this glitch, be sure to send the elevator back up before attempting to fight Ebrietas or leave the area

Hmm I'm planning to do this later..I don't plan to leave the area so I just need to make sure to send the elevator up before fighting in case I die?

So I am almost done with platinum-ing BB. After that I don't think I will keep this game, I don't see a lot of replay value for it and I'm much more interested in discussing the rich lore in the game now that I'm familiar with it. Does anyone feel the same? I wish PVP would keep me playing but it doesn't seem like it is fun right now.

hmm. Guess I've been lucky so far that every time I tried going that way I always sending the elevator back up to save time for the next run.

Where the fuck is everybody? I've rung the bell and waited for help in front of
the Vicar
twice now, and nobody showed up. I'm set to worldwide with no password, and nothing! I need help...

Finally beat Father G after about 15 tries. I went to bed around 1am last night so frustrated after 10 straight runs at him. Absolutely destroyed him on my first try today. I have no idea why I had so much trouble.

Sometimes you just need to take a break.

So where do I go now? I defeated the Cleric Beast and I've just about explored everywhere at this point without making any progression.

Am I the only one having trouble beating
Ebrietas
? I swear I haven't had this much trouble with any of the other bosses thus far.

Dudes with the bags on their shoulders? Seriously no matter what I upgrade, two hits and I'm dead.

Before they rage wait for their general palm strike attack. When the elbow as at its highest point, counter and visceral. You should be able to follow up and take them down while they recover and rage, although some people situate themselves behind and charge attack for another visceral.

I think Martyr is the best boss in the game next to
Gehrman
. The Martyr fight is all about learning the bosses attacks at different ranges, reacting to them, punishing when possible and then
in the phase where he powers up, putting your parry skills to the test
.
AOE flying swords is kinda bullshit, but you can just charge at the one in the ground and kill it with one hit
, which is tougher than it seems during that phase. I was stuck on him for hours but it was a very rewarding accomplishment to beat him. I was kinda mad at
Gehrman
due to the fact you have to farm for vials in this game if you run out, and I literally fought him 30-40 times before I learned how to beat him. I was so salty after that and was sour on the game for a while. But beating that boss taught me how to parry more effectively pretty much any
humaniod
enemy in the game, even from the outset, with a new character. Also I learned to change up my weapons if something isn't working. Though it seems like you start with much fewer skill than str weapons during progression through the game.

the house right off the bridge with the Cleric Beast. Go in it and go downstairs. That will put you on the right path.

Thank you!

I threw myself at her for hours and even though I got all her attacks down she still got lucky shots on me D: Beating her made me shout at the TV.

I really wish there were more sets of armor. I know there are changes to resistances, but there is no new set I received where I thought "wow that's amazing!".

Seems like a bit of a waste to me.

These guys are cake if you do the following:
-Get close and wait for their slow power attack
-Dodge past
-Hit them twice putting them into RAGE MODE
-As they turn red if you aren't already get behind them and HEAVY HIT(R2) + Visceral

DEAD

Oh cool. If you beat Father G before you do Cleric, you can summon Alfred instead of G for the fight.

You can summon a Hunter for that fight 0_o

So anyone read about that memory leak bug? It seems if your game is running for about 12 hours the bosses will get stupid and will only use their bad and easily dodgable moves. Can anyone confirm? Would clarify many boss fights last week for me lol

There's about 25ish sets I think. My favorite is found in Cainhurst Castle. Knight Set + Cainhurst set combination is so sexy.

Thanks! Running by them is a good option too I guess. Beat a boss soon after so I hope I don't see them much more. We all have our worst enemies in this game. I've been taking down hunters fine but these guys have it in for me.

Yep, if you do Cleric first, you can summon Father G in two different locations depending on if you have the shortcut open or not.

I haven't been able to find a summon for Father G yet though. Still scouring the levels.

Yes. The suspend functionality that came out a couple days after fucked over the game.

Top 5 hardest bosses for me

Martyr Logarius
Ebrietas, Daughter of The Cosmos
Gehrman, The First Hunter
Rom, The Vacuous Spider
