Bloodborne |OT3| I Cane, I Saw, I Conqu- YOU DIED

Ok, I haven't spotted a
bell maiden
at all in that area.
Maybe it was down the way with the giant things throwing boulders that I kind of ignored
... Guess I'll run through it all and check.

The cave is right before reaching the
poison swamp. You'll know if you're in the right place if theres a bunch of those boulder throwing dudes on ledges.

Died like 5 times against Vicar and I was using the summoning bell too but my help died and then I died lol. I'm going to grind a level or two and put it into health I guess, maybe get my cane whip up to another level.

I just killed
Iosefka
before killing
Rom
.
Did i just mess up my chance for the
true ending
or is there still a way?

Don't kill Rom and send Arianna the prostitute to the Chapel

Btw, why people keep calling it
true
ending?

For what I see it's just another choice, compared to the first one, not necessary the true one.

I missed the lantern the first time as well until I died. it's right after the cave right before the first enemy. look around.

The one I found was well after the first enemy right before all the frenzy fun begins. I first entered Nightmare
from the second floor
.

Not sure how I missed it as I swear when I first explored the area I literally stood where the lantern ended up being.

did you read the trophy description? pretty much the best ending so it's considered the true one

Congrats.

Did it take multiple playthroughs?

how difficult was it beating all the chalice dungeons in order to face
Yharnam, Blood Queen
?

It seems Blood Gem Master might be a pain to acquire as well.

I could make it in one playthrough (i got it on NG+) if i had known about the USB /online backup save before final boss but..anyway

Regarding dungeons i didn't find them very difficult (with the exception of the bosses in the final Pthumeru Chalice dungeon)

overall a medium-difficulty platinum if you know the game mechanics of course...

FINALLY !!!! F * * * YOU MARTYR !!!!! Boss with most retries so far. Even got weak and tried to summon someone for help but game didn't find someone for 5 minutes, while i helped around 5 ppl beat him (found them after 10 seconds lol). I could even see 2 white ghosts standing before his fog gate waiting for help while summoning....

Glad i beat him solo.

In an hour or so, i'm going to help ppl beat him for 1-2 hours. He needs to be purged !!!!

I did, but I dunno, I dont consider it the best per se.

In the "Good" ending you get the fuck out of the Nightmare and go on with your live.

In the other two endings you try to break the Nightmare (in one you fail, and in other you success).

You became a new Great Old but I don't see this as the best ending. I don't even know if "my" new self will be a benevolent one or a jerk like the other Great Olds.

Anyways, all are considered valid choices for the MC, like in Dark Souls (well, maybe except the bad ending)

Unless I really missed something

The overall Word Design and the way everything it connect's is genius levels of brilliance.
I am so amazed at how they laid this whole game out.

Yeah, I thought it was a really great environment. And it's not that hard to run through if you get sick of fighting.

I agree. My wife was watching me play that area, and she was like, "I think this is the coolest area in the game so far." She's currently at the Cathedral Ward. I don't know where I'm going to go next, now that I beat the boss of Forbidden Woods.

Man,
Ebrietas
gave me some shit yesterday. Probably took a total of 4 hours to get him down. I just kept getting stuck on places in the environment and he'd get off a huge combo and kill me. Had his health bar down to an inch at least 6-7 times.

Now I'm just relaxing and exploring some of the areas that I may have sped through earlier in the game. Haven't found anything yet, but I might come across some secrets here and there.

EDIT:
I may have forgotten that the rest of HER name is "Daughter of the Cosmos"

it also took the most effort to unlock so we're just going by the usual RPG trope of a true ending. I hope the official guide will clarify this. but I understand your POV.

yo don't call that purdy girl a "him" or she will come back to haunt you tonight :P

*didn't know there was a storage chest in the lodge* Thanks!

hehe lol, yeah not all interactables are equally apparent

Most people consider it the true ending because you get to fight the last boss. Whether, which story closure you prefer is another matter.

I've just hit a bug and it's really annoying. I beat the boss at
Lumenflower Garden
and broke the window to get to the lift. I went down the lift where I saw what looked like another boss. So I went back up the lift and teleported back to the hub. When I returned, the lift was at the bottom. Every time I now try to use the lift it tells me it's not currently operational but then allows me to pull the level. The lift does not come back up. I've killed myself 5 times now and even reloaded the game, but the same bug is there.
Happened to me as well.
Rolled back from a cloud save. Lost quite a few hours of progress.
Completely random, but dodging diagonally forward feels like that one viable strategy that so many people dont use in the fights that it is viable for fear of dying.
Yup.

The mechanics of the chalice dungeons are really wearing thin on me. Like, I have the chalice to open the last dungeon and be done, but I need 4 red jelly and 1 of Some other thing I've never seen, and it seems like, to get that stuff, I have to use all the blood and arcane haze I've gotten to go open more dungeons so I can come back.

And I'm just sick of the dungeon crawling. The fun part is the bosses, not going through the same rooms over and over again hoping that the dungeon I've made can refill the items I've used to instantiate it, and then some.

Wish it was over.

Stay close to the boss, hit once (preferably with a small weapon like the threaded cane first form),avoid the tentacles and punch attacks (but staying close),repeat...

As`long as you stay close to the boss, the boss will not use the magic attack AT ALL!
Good advice. This is an annoying boss to repeat

I love the Forbidden woods...it's scary and makes you feel lost in a horrific place. Don't get the hate.

I think the
snake-infested
area is what makes or breaks it for everyone. I can see the frustration, as there isn't much of a flow to it and plenty of opportunities to get lost or turned around in a rather difficult/different enemy area.

To me though, it's just different. Teaches you how to cut down explorable areas to smaller zones and how to take it slow rather than rushing through. The game isn't actively trying to make you miserable there, unlike the rivers of
poison
in NF.

However, you can't hate FF when it has this amazing NPC encounter (SPOILERS!!!): https://youtu.be/CicCMNG8dY8

New to the GAF, new to the Souls universe. I beat the game just under ~50 hours, got 3rd ending after consuming the
umbilical cords
. This truly is one of the most amazing, gut wrenching, and most beautiful games I've ever played. The music draws you in, the atmosphere draws you in, you want to know what's going to happen next. You are afraid to walk into that dark room, torch in hand and the hip lantern lit. You see that dark blood red or dark blue eyes staring directly at you only approach and be shanked by some hunched over witch who's now slitting your throat. I love everything about this game.

It's almost sad that this was released before DS2 for the PS4 as I now feel going to play DS2 when it releases will be a step back from BB in terms of game play and graphics but I'll probably do it anyway. It was hard but an enjoyable ride. I kept my insight high, I ended the game with 91 insight I believe. I've only had to summon another play for help once, and that was vs
Martyr Logarius (FUCK THAT GUY!)
other than that it was all done solo and it was one hell of a ride.

Currently going through the chalice dungeons, recently unlocked the defiled chalice. I'd give this game a solid 9/10. I only take away 1 point from a perfect score because as with all Souls games from what I've read, you're left to figure out wtf is going in terms of story.

Have to wait 7 more hours for the game to finish downloading before I can continue with Bloodborne after beating the second boss..
I've also had to play the game offline so far.

Stuck on a 2.5mbit/s connection. Seems I'll never getting fibre in my area at the rate it's going.

this a known bug yes:

There is glitch with the elevator for the Ebrietas boss area that currently has no workaround except going back to her area in New Game+. To avoid this glitch, be sure to send the elevator back up before attempting to fight Ebrietas or leave the area

Welcome. DS2 doesn't have the same amazing world or enemy design as BB but it's still pretty good in those respects, and it has deeper RPG mechanics. There are so many ways to build your character in that game it's crazy.

exploration in this game gives me the same kind of thrill it gave me when i was like 16 and WoW was brand new, it's awesome

Does the lift to the m
other brain
just unlock automatically after you beat the boss or what do I have to do othwrise?

Do I get the m
ake contact
gesture by default or do I have to find it in the world?

Thanks!

I wouldn't necessarily say DS2 is a step back from Bloodborne in Gameplay. It's really just a bit different. The level design and the worl are definately a step back and it does have some balancing issues but it's still very worthy of giving it a try. Maybe not at full price for the new versions though.

yes and that gesture is from
the dead body standing near the door before the stairs to the Celestial Emissary boss fight in Upper Cathedral.

I think after the boss.Regarding the gesture it's in the balcony of the 2nd floor of the
Upper
Cathedral Ward. There's a statue in the middle making the gesture.Talk to it.

Looked up some stuff. I'm on NG++, and I guess I never picked up the Living String in
Mergos
which is required for the final chalice dungeon.

Cool.

Problem is, I'm not sure if I'm going to finish my NG++ playthrough. So now I feel kinda fucked over.

just rush what few mandatory bosses there are.

Do chalice dungeons change in NG+?

nope ng+ does not affect them at all, also doenst reset them etc.

I do wonder how many people quoted Raider of the Lost Ark in that section :D

Is it this Tuesday we're getting booted to the community side? I forget how the transition works.

wot u talking about mate? :O

the snake designs didn't bother me as much as the sound they made. the hissing with a surround system was all around me.

From Software releasing DS2 after BB was fucking genius. Even after having played throufh DS2 I want to play it after I platinum BB.

Ok, I've just been grinding on those first sack guys at the HG lamp leveling up my cane and stats. So the boss in HG can be beaten and then I can go back to the Upper CW, or would you recommend going back to CW first and tackling HG later?

I wouldn't approach the boss in HG with any number of souls. Light the lamp at the top of the stairs, and if you want to try the boss do it when you have nothing to lose.

I'd also avoid the bag guys except those two you can cheese in the stair doorway. Go through the hallway halfway up the stairs and clear that room out and if you can open the door in the side at the top of the stairs it is a handy shortcut for farming, avoiding other bag men.

I totally had a feeling it would work against them. However, it now makes a lot of sense.

It's also cool to see how many people got BB as their first 'Souls' game and now want a taste of something else (but with better performance and short load times...).

Hey guys a quick question about Adella
She will kill Arianna if I accept her blood first, and have it in my inventory ok I get that. But what about getting Arianna's blood and store it in the box of Hunter's dream? Does that prevent her from killing Arianna?¨
