I mean, the level design in CY, OY, and FW are perfect. Opening the shortcuts feel like winning the jackpot. You're on this big adventure and feeling desolate and terrified (I sort of did in FW)..

But then you have those

very little closed off areas like NF, Byrgenwerth with haphazard shortcuts that enable a fruitless, boring trek to the boss that might as well have been an instant restart. Not to mention the level design in something like NF fucking sucks.

And then I don't even mention Yahar Gul.

Great game, but I can't help I don't really enjoy the final 30%. Not the bosses either.

There are different types of ritual blood. They'll have a number in parenthesis next to them. It's really confusing at first.

That's what I did.
Beat him on my first try.

But those little spiders are so annoying and obnoxious and their attack damage is also huge. It's so hard to hit the boss when I have to dodge everything.

Lol. Invaders have it sort of rough in BB. Apart from like, two zones, you either invade 1) people who are also trying to invade someone or 2) 2-3 people just trying to co-op that will likely murder the shit out of you.

I wish they woulda left it alone. If people don't want to get invaded, they can play offline D:. It's not really worth doing except for the two zones where there's already a sinister bell ringing.

You can buy those from the messengers in the hunter's dream or just play another dungeon and you'll find them in chests.

I've just got to Cainhurst, but I don't think I'm supposed to be there yet because those spider things are really kicking my ass. Hard. I haven't cleared the Nightmare Frontier yet because I ran into a brain thing that frenzied me and insta-gibbed me, I also have gotten to Brygenworth, but I died three times to the hunter and bailed out of there.

So where should I go? I've also got Hypogean Gaul or whatever unlocked, but I haven't been there since I was kidnapped.

Ive killed the first boss but have not explored around the lamp that appears there.

Rom wasn't as bad as I thought he was going to be, but maybe that's because I faced him when I was level 60. At first I tried killing all the small spiders before proceeding which worked the first few waves but I always kept dieing when he was at or a little below 50% health. So after a bit I just said fuck it and concentrated on Rom the whole time. Took 5-6 tries but was able to beat him without killing a single small spider.

I've gotten to Queen Annalise & there is an Unopened Summons next to her. I understand that if I give the Summons to Alfred, he will kill her. Can I join the Vilebloods, then give the Summons to Alfred or is that not an option? (I also understand that she can be revived after her kills her, but I'd like to complete both quests before that takes place.)

Also, what exactly does joining the Vilebloods do? I've seen people mention that it's like the Covenant in Souls games, but I've never played a Souls game.

Beat the 4th boss (Vicar) and did the sidequest and got the Rune tool.

I wasnt sure exactly to go, but ended up in the Forbidden Woods. I knew the password (anyone know how? I must not have paid attention because I know I didnt know the password before).

Also, the Forbidden Woods is GORGEOUS! It's so damn awesome, I wish we see more of these kinds of environments. Imagine if it was pitch dark! It would look gorgeous. The artstyle is so awesome here, I wish there was a whole game dedicated to something so dark and creepy and beautiful.

Seriously, I love these environments, and while the Yharnam itself was okay, I just adore the beauty of natural environments.

How did you get to the Nightmare Frontier before beating Brygenworth?

Beat the 4th boss (Vicar) and did the sidequest and got the Rune tool.

Man, I didn't know From would make their matchmaking system even comparably worse than/as Dark Souls 1's fuckin server switching shenannigans. I just want to be able to get instant feedback of, oh dats my dude, it's working and coop with that one.

I don't know if that dude is finished with the fight, but 10+- range +-10%, I'm not sure on that.

Those things you mention are all a bit unbalanced compared to the rest there.

The boss

of Byrgenwerth is easier than said Hunter. In fact I didn't come back to kill the Hunter until I was 5 levels higher than when I beat the boss.

The Spiders outside of the Castle are MUCH more difficult than anyone inside. Almost anyone, heh.

The Brain things are actually weak. But you need Frenzy resistance and Sedatives. Or approach it from the back.

Well amilia has made me rage quit lol.

I know my tactics are right I just have no mist to stop the heals. I got her about two hits from death but she just keeps healing. Watched a video a second ago. Guys using basically same tactics as me buy she only healed once. Made no sense. She heals much against me.

I really like this game but I hate grinding and there is a lot of that here (never really had to grind in dark souls) if you get stuck somewhere. Farming vials is boring and insight is really crap. Used at least 6 trying to get coop. 3 said failed connection almost straight away and still used up an insight and the others just no one ever joined but again still uses an insight.

I beat bsb on my first attempt but I have been stuck on amilia for like 3 hours. Healing on bosses sucks ugh.

Maybe I need to not play for a few days.
