Alright, I'm back.

So what's going on with the whole "Easy mode"-thing? Can someone PLEASE come with concrete proof regarding the shit I've been hearing now for a couple of hours?

This isn't anything new, it's a definitely bug in the game where bosses are stuck into a couple of moves in their AI routine. Definitely linked to having the game up for long times... I guess memory leak explains it well.

Just found a huge secondary passage within my 2nd chalice dungeon where at the end war a giant golden coffin with some good items inside.

I love the idea behind these chalice dungeons and hope they really expand on them in the future.

Is there a chalice dungeon simply called Isz? I used a glyph for that CD after creating my first Great Isz dungeon and I still don't meet the requirements.

I was looking at that. Name alone suggests it's powerful. Thanks for the suggestion.

I have the starting hunting pistol and never use outside of gunning down perched enemies. I'm just looking for something that I can chip away at tough enemies and bosses with in a pinch.

Cannon is for you, then. I use it regularly now against bosses when I need to do a solid chunk of damage but can't get in close to finish them off. Great for final blows.

It can also be a great way to deal with invading hunters trying to gank you. A point blank cannon shot to the face usually finishes the fight.

Didn't play much during the past week, nibbled around the edges mostly but dove back in this evening. Killed the witches (1 try) and amelia (2 tries), unlocked the first elevator in the forbidden woods, unlocked a location relating to the fourth headstone.

I think it's kinda lame that some of the other hunters you fight can use magic, but we can't. I don't get why they didn't add magic like in the Souls games. Would make replaying the game more fun to have different builds than just a melee character (which is fun but still).

Well R
om
is kicking my fucking ass. This is the first boss that has given me any real trouble. I saw that flamesprayer tactic and my bloodtinge isn't good enough to kill him fast enough. Guy is a real jerk. I'm sure I'll be able to kill him. The adds and AOE after the first teleport are brutal.

Yes I agree with this. My instinct was to just go all out on R
OM, but and I was in one hit of defeating it several times, when I would get clobbered and killed by the adds. It wasn't until I took them out one by one while dodging her attacks that I was able to beat it.

This was near the end of the page and I know these pages move fast so I'll ask again.

For the
collect all weapons/hunter tools
trophies does it have to be on one character, or can you collect them across multiple characters?

We can use magic too.

Whatever tools the Hunters can use in the game we can use it too.

If you get your Arcane high enough and have certain items, you can do the same thing :)

Can someone please illustrate the shortest way to get all chalica dungeons trophies? I know that I have to beat the
queen
but I hear that there is another trophy in the dungeons what is it and how to get it as fast as possible?

Sold.

Here's it happening to me: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ErusInKSqzE

And this has never happened in a Souls game before. Bosses being 'baited' into doing the same move, over and over again, is an AI glitch regardless. They should be mixing it up.

I agree. Some bosses have more randomness than others, it feels like. There's some interesting stuff under the hood, but it still remains that there needs to be some randomness or pattern-breaking mechanism so they don't fall into ruts.

I think I've gotten some of those items, but they didn't sound like damaging attack spells to me. How do you even use those? Do you equip them in a quick item slot and can use them as much as you want?

What is the tentacle stray? She is owning me.

And what would that be?

Theres the V shaped tentacle on her ass, keep running into it and spam slash her to death w/ fire paper. She'll jump up and you'll get ejected and take a small amount of dmg, but just run back in.

She might hit you with a few odd attacks but nothing too harsh you cant heal up through.

You might get unlucky and get her to do her laser sub 50, but just run out and dodge 'em and run back into the V.

Rinse, repeat. You might get owned a few times b/c of laser or unlucky RNG, but this strat is a surefire kill within 5 attempts MAX.

Some do damage, some don't. Yeah, Use them like you would a molotov; it costs bullets though.

Randomly stumbled into the 4th boss,
Darkbeast Paarl
and lost 25k blood echoes.

Fun times :)

You press [] to use and they use up the designated amount of Quicksilver Bullets.

There are damaging spells like that star burst arcane spell which just shoots a bunch of missiles like that NPC Hunter from Byrgenwerth.

You can equip them, but they consume QS bullets.

EDIT: Whoops, beaten.

Oh neat. I was curious how that hunter was using that spell in
Brygenwerth
. As someone who doesn't really use the gun that much (because I suck at the timing for parrying most of the time), it might be good to level up arcane somewhat and use those, lol.

I find when ever I am exploring a new area, just working it out or trying to find new short cuts I always have Bold Hunters Mask equipped. In case I have a whole bunch of echoes and I accidentally stumble into a boss fight I am not ready for I will just use that to warp back to a lamp.

Uh, all those spells hunters use are available to use. I use the lighting AOE and shit all the time :O

Personally speaking the only two spells I have found to be worth using are the Old Hunter's Bone which makes your roll/movement faster and the Arcane weapon buff which gives your weapon additional damage. The rest I either don't have enough Arcane use or it doesn't do enough damage on my build.

Each item has different Arcane requirements. The lowest ones are at 15, highest is 40. There's one that requires 15 that is super duper useful: it
gives you a weapon buff for a short period of time

For god sake, the
hunter
with the cane is op. He can cast lighting and fire, wtf cant he do?
I thought he was hard for a minute. Take him downstairs to the exit hallway and keep in or around there. It makes it easy to avoid his arcane moveset because you can just step out the door.

Found the
White Church Set
in F
orbidden
W
oods
. That makes 6 sets for me so far. :) Also this place is huge. Died to a random
ass cannon on a hill
out of nowhere.

Just arrived at the
Vicar Amelia
boss fight and I just can't beat her although I haven't had any problems until now. I am using the Cane+3 and I can get her down to 50% without problems but then she starts to heal and I can do nothing to stop her. I literally hit her during her complete healing process and she always gets out with more health than before anyway. Am I just not doing enough damage at this point or am I missing something completely?

Dude, I fought her from 8pm last night and finally gave up at 1am. woke up this morning and beat her on the first try. When she started healing I ran up behind her and used charge attacks. A lot of the advice I read said to try and get behind her but that did work very well for me because I couldn't see shit from the fur that was blocking my view. I ended up using the axe in its long form and just did it in a very patient, and calculated way while keeping my distance. Felt like I conquered a fucking country. I feel you pain man. stick with it.

You can't summon in areas where you already defeated the boss. And it costs 1 insight to ring the bell.

Edit- ring the small bell to be summoned to help others, this one doesn't cost anything to ring.

I hadnt beaten the boss, I was standing right out in front of the Cleric Beasts area.

2 more trophies til Plat. but it looks like i could've gotten one of them already but i missed a chest. gonna reload an old save to get that one. killed two bosses in NG+ in like 10 minutes and way too deep into the Chalice dungeons now.

This game. On a scale of 1 to even, I just can't.

Just fought the third boss. Beat it on my first try, but I have to say these bosses are absolutely enthralling. I love this game just as much if not more than Dark or Demon's Souls so far. It's not as difficult as the others, but the gameplay is just superbly tweaked and the characters are all so fun to fight.

Oh, maybe I misunderstood. You post stated you had beaten the boss by yourself. It wasn't Cleric?

Restart your PS4, that's worked for some people. And set Network to worldwide if you hadn't already. and don't use a password unless you made plans with people.

Anyone else using the rifle spear? I'm usin it early on in my Bloodtinge build and at first j really really hated it, but bow that I know what to do I like it a lot more. Not good for mobs, but great for 1on1s.

I think I experienced easy mode
Mergo's Wet Nurs
e during NG+

literally just plodded along doing the multi arm slash, none of the other shenanigans it used during NG

I meant that I was able to beat it after on my own which was nice, I will try restarting now

You get magic later on.

Increase your Insight for added difficulty.

Any tips for the 3 hunters?

The cheesiest weapon against them is the two handed axe. The two handed axe R2 charge attack is a spin attack that moves forwards, has lots of reach, knocks them down if it connects, their attacks don't break your attack if you're in the middle of your spin.

It's R2 jump attack is also very useful due to its reach and stunning capability. Most R2 jump attacks are useful 1 vs 1.

Alternative is to get good at countering + visceral attack. Easier said than done but you're invincible during visceral attacks and its the best way of regaining health and killing things quick.

A
mygdala
is giving me a lot more trouble than I expected.

It's like, when I'm about to kill her my hits stop connecting or something.

I think
Gehrman
is my fav final boss in the souls series
even tho I guess you could call Moon Presence the true final boss, but he's ass. The setting/area, the reason you're fighting him, he's a complete badass with his Wesker like teleporting, moveset and dat burial blade, you have no issue believing he's the greatest hunter ever (prior to you) and he's a genuine handful in NG+
