Died twice on the first boss
Died once on the second
Died twice on the third

Well chuffed.

Now for the final Chalice. Need the String and some Red Jelly first though, tips on the latter? I have two already and know where the String is. Rest is covered.

ONLY ONCE ON THE SECOND BOSS? HOW?

I think I'm gonna keel over and cry against Shadow of Yharnam. Lvl 55. This can seriously become my "fuck this game" point... sigh.

Try to keep the big tombstone between you and the fire-throwing prick while you use long reaching R2 charge attacks on the others (rifle spear, great sword, etc). Focus on one at a time no matter what. Stick and move but try to stay in a spot where the fireballs can't hit you.

Bosses get buffed in coop so yea, they're much harder. It's similar to past Souls games.

I didn't realize it was so significant. I've killed most of the bosses in co-op (I love joining other peoples games) and haven't had much of an issue bringing them down.

Bloodborne for me is a labyrinth. I'm going deeper, prodding and seeing how much I can take and how much much deeper my gaming skill will take me. I'm already feeling the effects. I don't know if I'll ever finish the game but I'm loving it.

Damn that's baller as fuck for real. Defiled Chalice is one of the hardest challenges in the game.

I'm at Rom now. First time I've had trouble with a boss in the game. I'm ringing the bell, but no luck getting a partner.

Ignore the adds breh. Keep moving breh.

No, seriously. You need bolt paper and or tonitrus. And of course, luck.

Me, i'm stuck at M
artyr
L
ogarius
.
First time i fought him in my previous playthrough i one shotted his ass. Now he
is spamming spells like crazy and jumping all over the place.
I hate how random these booses AI are.

I'm at the end. :(
Killed Mergot's wet nurse and just visited the Hunter's Dream to see the freaking building's on fire. Apparently Gherman wants to fight me or something. Old dude's going down. To speak with Jeremy Clarkson's famous words: how hard can it be?

Can anyone explain to me the Chalice Dungeon? Can I go through the game without having entering them/it? How much worthwhile content would I be missing?

Beat that last of the 3
hunters in Yar'ghul.

Now I'm back at the cathedral try to kill the hunter who
took out the bird lady
. IMO, he hits harder than anything I've faced before. Bosses included.

I'm leveling up to use the cannon since it wrecked me so hard previously.

In case that doesn't work, anyone have any suggestions?

It's a fun fight and mostly fair.
If you know how to use parry it's not hard.

Stuck at that guy too. Got him at about 25%.

Magic phase is simple. Dodge through his skulls and deliver a hit or 2. His melee combo can be easily parried from range.

In my case he started to go all melee, not a single spell anymore. Like, 8 consecutive swords into the ground and thrusts after it. I was actually out of bullets due to the shooting of those swords.

He feels like a good boss though, better than that stupid fuck
One Reborn. The route towards him was more risky than himself.

You'll need to go in them if you want the platinum. As far as worthwhile content goes, I can't say. Saving them for last.

I love that they continued the tradition of 1 v 1 final boss fights. I liked this fight quite a bit though I wish it has music on par with Gwyn's fight in DS1.

Just take pot shots at them, hit them twice and run around. I have another video of them from ng+ but I can't upload it now.

Aaand just about now I got help from someone incredibly awesome and managed to get past them. Heyy awesome dude! Thank you if you are in GAF! (well BIG thank you regardless!)

There's a dandy rune that gives you back bullets if you do V. Attacks, really helped on that boss.

I killed
those 3 hunter bastards in unseen village
by getting jailed and hitting them when i was jailed all alone by using ludwig's charged attack.
I feel dirty

I hope the game is over not much later after
Rom. I just didn't dig the lost woods and the move to snakes and insects as enemies. Really I'm ready for it to end soon if this is where the art direction is going.

So I saved
Cainhurst
to do before the ending. Is it a long ordeal? I'm mostly trying to find all weapons and clean up all the trophies so I don't have to do another full replay.

Since getting into N
ightmare of M
I've been invading/getting invaded/cooping nonstop. It's been such a blast to finally get multiplayer working that it's caused me to halt progressing or leveling up. I've been helping people beat the
Wetnurse
for the last few hours.

Gotta move on eventually. D:

Score. Now the next boss will really tempt your controller throwing skills (if you don't have help that is).

Side note, since day one I've been using standby/resume on the ps4 and it completely fucked all online co-op functionality. Only today did I realize this after nearly 2 play throughs of soloing all these bosses. Its nice to finally believe in "A Hunter is never alone" after two weeks.

In my opinion, you've basically seen all there is in terms of interesting art direction. There's a few cool things, but most of it is spent earlier in the game. Just my opinion.

Whoooo!

The boss that gave me the most trouble was
the Bloodletting Beast in the Ihyll chalice... that was rough for me. Had to get in a rhythm with his attacks and iframing them.

Took 56 hours for Platinum, still a lot I want to play around with in NG+/

If you choose to skip a bunch of option/secret locations then you're almost done with the game. Though I wouldn't advise you do that, especially if you're not feeling the art direction as these hidden locations and bosses have some of the best art direction in the entire game. Stick with it.

it usually takes a while, wait at least 15 mins, make sure your settings are "worldwide" and no password

Me and a friend have basically found a way to get to co-op really quickly, but it requires you both to have the same password. Set it to Worldwide as you said, but we found its really quick if you ring the resonant bell first and then the beckoning bell. Also it only seems to work quickly (within a min or two max) if you're both stood by a lamp. If it doesn't happen within a min or two both close the game and restart and try again....its really worked for me and a mate of mine.

Also you have to be within +10 levels (and another 10%).

This is to co-op with a mate.

Sorry if its been posted before.

You can ignore them if you wish and just want the main storyline.

You will enjoy them most if you pace yourself and do the depth 1 chalices while at a low level, depth 2 at mid level and 3-5 at end game to ng+ levels.

If you are racing through them to get the platinum you will probably find them tedious.

There are bosses, enemies and items you will only find in them.

I am enjoying the hell out of them, just luxuriating in the dungeon crawl, but YMMV.

Some of these high level chalice dungeons are pretty challenging. Definitely on par if not even harder than what you face during the main story progression.
