I kind of used the door at the back to lock him in place(Spider is too big to get through) and ran in to do charge attacks/rolled out when he attacked. It's also a good way to get the smaller spiders separated from him so you can kill them easily first.
 
Woot, got the final Red Jelly. Final Chalice here I come! Sighed like a motherfucker when I saw that the boss I needed to kill before I got to the layer where my final Jelly was located was A

That was the plan but the thing took my 40k souls. I lost them now though so fuck it.

Man, this game is really getting frustrating - which makes it just exactly like every other Souls game. It's crazy how every single one of those Souls games has at least one breaking point where it truely tests you....

Anyway, everything was fine and dandy up until I killed the 3rd boss (the one where you get the chalice afterwards). Now the game seems to really open up. I counted at least 4 way I can go and right now I seem to get my ass handed on every single one. It's killing me... I don't know if I'm too stupid to play the game or if I'm just not going the way I'm supposed to. i feel like I'm taking waaaaaayyyyyy to much damage. Those fucking guys with the bags are fucking everywhere and they kill me with 2 hits...

Can't believe that some people are actually saying this game is easy. I feel like BB is the most difficult of the Souls games. Haven't struggeld this much since Dark Souls (which was my first Souls game)....
 
Im currently at
Nightmare Frontire and got up to amygdala boss, i know its a optional boss, so i want to skip it for now. What other levels can i go to?? As im kind of stuck.
 
I'm taking my sweet time with this game. I just got to the
Upper Cathedral ward
and I think the game is simply amazing by this point.
 
Well, my NG+ run is looking suspiciously like my NG play through. Complete with having to co op to get past FGascoigne and BSB. Fuck those 2 assholes, seriously.

Yes, that felt good. My first try, too. It took me 8 tries my first time around. I just hit level 100. I have strength, endurance and vitality at 40 right now.

Think of the bag guys as survival horror enemies at this point. Run past them whenever possible. They are way harder to kill than anything else for quite a while.
 
So what are you guys doing who beat it? Going into NG+/NG++ etc or starting a new char? I am in NG+ now and I just feel like the balance is a bit off because the bosses have too much HP so I might just make a new character.
 
What determines if Bolt/Fire paper can be applied to a weapon? If it doesn't work on the Rifle Spear, will it work on Chikage or Righterpellash?

I'm almost done, going to make a strictly str character next. Currently running a bloodtinge one.

I'm using the rapier and i usually evade under him during his swipes but i mis a lot due to camera angles and him dodging. Then I get wrecked when he charges up after 50% health. It also seems like I dont have a good time to heal after the power up since he always swipes me super quick. I've been trying to get viscerals but idk if I have the timing down

Also, if you're having trouble you might consider armor with higher bolt resistance

Endlessly watching the OT when I can and trying to help people who are stuck? And hopefully helping people clear defiled dungeon in game, no one deserves going through that :/

You need to dodge bag guys when they hit the ground. Then you have at least 2 seconds to charge with R2 and hit them gud.
 
Just got the platinum. I really like chalice dungeons, but towards the end there it really felt a little too hard, and it started to lose the funness because of that. That was a lot of fucking work for 1 trophy, and about 3 of the bosses were just straight up not fun because of how hard they were.

The defiled 3?

And yeah, FROMsoft has always been really good about balancing fairness and difficulty, and I honestly feel like...for the first time...God this is weird to be typing...
But I feel like somewhere in this souls game, they messed up? The main game was too easy for me, and chalice dungeons didn't have a real "learn the fight" difficulty, but more like a "oh, you didn't get it perfect? Lets reset you another 5 minutes!" screw you sort of difficulty. One is fun, one is kind of dickish to try and run through.

How long do you guys usually wait for a (not arranged) co-op partner after ringing the bell? I usually wait 1-2 minutes but have only been able to summon an NPC so far lol
