Seriously, you didn't do
Chalice Dungeons
at all? Wow, first I've heard of getting
that weapon outside of them
... you get the
all weapons
trophy yet?

I did some Chalice dungeons. I just got up to but didn't beat
Rom
in the first sequence of chalice dungeon. I got the weapons trophy. I only need two chalice dungeon trophies to get the platinum. Dunno I just saw it for sale after beating
Gehrman
but dying to the
moon presence
. I didn't see the
beast claw
for sale before but it could have been...

anybody got any tips for
paarl?

I'm using the rapier and i usually evade under him during his swipes but i mis a lot due to camera angles and him dodging. Then I get wrecked when he charges up after 50% health. It also seems like I dont have a good time to heal after the power up since he always swipes me super quick. I've been trying to get viscerals but idk if I have the timing down

Don't know if I'm too late already but... the best, easiest way to do it is first, by wearing Henryk clothing set and THEN just fuck off with the camera lock during the fight and ROLL FORWARD towards him to his underbelly and SMACK the legs. It'll down him and if he gets away, do NOT let up and instead just ROLL towards him/underneath him over and over again and smack his legs again etc etc. I got him on my 3rd attempt by doing this.

I have zero interest in PvP in this game. I imagine it's just spamming dodge and guns over and over. I like structure and balance in my PvP gaming.

So I reached the BSB and I have 0 blood vials (thanks random wolves).

It's a bit stupid. So I have to farm vials, probably die to the boss and then farm again if I want a chance at beating this guy? This is really killing my motivation to play.

They need to make it so that you spawn at lanterns with 5 vials or something.

Literally just went through this experience and it was recommended to me to farm some blood vials at the first lamp. Take a left and kill the two giant trolls aND make your way through the house and kill everything on the bridge....that gave me enough blood vials and experience to give BSB two more shots and I beat him on my second chance.

I'm not sure why more blood vials don't drop later on the game...

Ummm...
There are consequences if he saves the church lady. If you accept arrianna's blood you aren't able to accept church lady's blood. If you don't accept her blood she'll murder arrianna after Rom

Wait,
church lady kills Arrianna? That never happened in my game. I missed CL in NG and took Arianna's blood. In NG+ I sent both of them to the Chapel but it wouldn't let me take either's blood since I'd already taken blood (hold over from NG I guess).

After Rom, CL went crazy and just kept laughing all the time, Arianna went and gave birth and I killed it/her for the Umbilical. This was all before Mergo's Wet Nurse, I already had 3 Cords before going to fight M's WN.

Chalice dungeons were a complete bust. An amplification of every rough edge and jank in the souls series. Horrible execution.

How far did you make it into them? I thought they were a lot of fun a little deeper down.

That's really interesting. I was only aware of
the Burial Blade going for sale after you beat G-man
. Thanks for the info! Also I already posted it on DGAF as a joke but I guess it's actually relevant here:

My only PvP experiences are killing 2 invaders in
Nightmare areas
, but those fights were pretty accurate to your description. Seemed really boring but I've never been huge into Souls PvP. DaS2 seems like the high-point of the series for that imo.

Wait after I defeated G
ehrman
I could buy the
beast claw
without grinding for it.
Wow. Didn't realize that...
That doesn't sound right. He gives you the badge to buy the Burial Blade.

abhorrent beast
was nuts

top 3 boss difficulty in this game for sure

Wow, really? I beat him in one shot. The
Amygadala and Watchdog
in Defiled Chalice were way harder.

i spent probably an hour looking for a bloodstain in
Forbidden Woods

it was partially hidden by the foliage. i'm still surprised i even managed to stumble across it, as big as that map was

also:

probably harder than the Dark Souls 2 platinum, but much less time consuming thanks to save scumming for the ending trophies. I think I need a break from this for a while now

Even without save scumming it's still faster, since you can easily rush through the game in a couple of hours by only fighting the 7 or so compulsory bosses. You also don't have to farm covenant material to collect spells which saves a lot of time.

im talking about standard boss fights, those each exist as original versions that don't have a defiled debuff on the player

but grats on the one shot he killed me a few times before i got him

Platinum trophy should tell you how far without having to post spoilers.

So is SL 125 too high for PvP? Invading in both nightmares and barely finding anyone.

I would think being close to 120 would be fine at either of the nightmare zones. Think it may just take some additional time for players to reach that level range? That isn't too high. I could understand having trouble with finding anyone at say 150+ or so.

Yeah after 2 play-throughs this is up there w/ DeS and DaS for me.

The only things I haven't really enjoyed are the Chalice dungeons because they're such a repetitive slog but some of the boss fights in them are fun.

Long play session today and beat the second boss. Boy, that sure wasn't fun. I ended up
just line of sighting mostly with the giant tree and using the music box when I could.
Still took many attempts and a lot of blood vials...

Making my way through the very long layout to the third boss. Unlocked the
shortcut ladder near the AI hunter. Is there a faster way to get to this when running back?

Currently in the town area and getting wrecked by those giant beasts. I can kill them if I cheese them with the environment, but one on one I don't have any viable strategy. Hopefully I'm near the third boss.

Taking a break as the game gets pretty exhausting to play after awhile.

I'm around level 24 or so, not sure if that's where I should be. It's a pain to run back to the lamp to level up.

i dont get the chalice dungeon hate to be honest

i agree the first few are a bit tedious but depth 4 and 5 and defiled dungeons are a total treat in terms of challenge

love them

Oh wow. I was kind of wondering to myself why the bosses were seemingly easier to beat in the last half of the game. I one-shotted more than a couple, and now I see that I was just hit with the 12-hr rest mode bug. Now I see that the Wet Nurse, Logarius and Micolash were supposed to have magic attacks and I never remember seeing them used once. And big bosses like Amagdyla were just run-under-and-keep-slashing easy. I don't play souls games for the bosses, though, I'm into the slow exploration completely, so I'm okay with it, it looks like I would have not beaten the game otherwise. But this bug is serious.

...that's odd advice, isn't it? He'll do his AOE attack once you're close and dealing damage. Not letting up is bound to end in tears, as you have to back WAY the fuck off of him repeatedly.

Unless there's some glitched AI stuff going on where he only does melee swipes?

Im about to start my chalice run, if anyone wants in i have all the stuff to make them and im starting on the first dungeon through to the queen. Let me know if you want to join and ill post my glyphs

All these boss bugs...have yet to experience them. Maybe because I always fully power down?
Pretty sure that resets the problem. Like, the Wet Nurse just did the lawnmower sword attack the whole fight, and Micolash didn't have to be cornered, he cornered himself, and just sat in the corner and didn't fight back the first round, and barely hit back the second. I watched videos and was like ???

The only boss in any Souls type game I had to cheez to beat and feel pathetic, ran circles around him throwing poison knives :(. But FUCK I couldn't ever get a hit in without getting my shit pushed in.

Sidenote: Does anyone know what rallying is? Blood gem gives you a bonus to it but even after reading it's description I don't get it.

Ah, just got Plat myself today. I want to try some of the non-trophy related ones though, like
Great Isz and modified ones like Root/Defiled/Cursed/Rotten/Sinister etc. Still haven't run into the Ring of Betrothal. Spoiler tags ftw, lol.

So if I load into my game and then put my ps4 into rest mode then tomorrow when I play all the chalice dungeon bosses will be super easy and just stand there like a dud?

Wow... TOR was easy as hell.

Winning strategy:

Ludwig's +8 = Win. Pour the damage on near the small limbs. Fireballs are healed by the onslaught. I didn't bother with the minions, just kept moving in/out to prevent the AOE from killing me.

I fought it down to halfway then stayed throwing knives. Not even ashamed. I got pretty close doing it normally a few times but that stupid ground slap with the huge aoe kept one shotting me. Crazy boss fight.

It's the health recovery when you are hit and you hit back. More rally = bigger recovery.
