So the only boss i ever summoned for in the entire game (and i have the platinum) was good old Cleric Beast. I tried him 15+ times and he just constantly kicked my ass. Just tried him in NG+ and wrecked him with only using 2 potions. It's amazing how much your skill improves through perseverance
Do you boost your discovery with runes? The 'eye' runes boost discovery and high discovery is essential to get the chunks. I farmed the
Upper cathedral ward blue eyed werewolves
for a total of 4 hours max, to a total of.. 35~ chunks. My base discovery was around 130~ due to my arcane stat and I used the two 'eye' runes I have managed to find.
Dying left and right against the bsb last night, came back today and took me a couple of tries, pretty much all parries, kind of weird how much easier it was.
So, my OCD and the need to Catch Them All has gotten the better of me and I want to finish out my Rune collection. These are the ones I have left:
Arcane Lake - Arcane DMG reduction +10%
Clear Deep Sea - Add slow poison RES +300
Deep Sea - Add frenzy RES +100
Dissipating Lake - Bolt DMG reduction +7% & +10%
Fading Lake - Fire DMG reduction +7%
Formless Oedon - Max QS bullets held UP +1 & +5
Great Lake - All DMG reduction +3%
Lake - Phys. DMG reduction +5%
Does anyone have any Chalice Glyphs with these Runes in them? I've been searching on the wiki and the spreadsheets and gamefaqs and such, but no luck so far with these last few.

I find that if I am doing poorly against a boss and take a break from playing for a while, then the next day I'll be refreshed and stomp that boss easily. Just happened to me with M
Yes, it's where the best loot is at. Depth 5 root with offerings will give you plenty of top tier gems, top tier runes, blood rocks, lost weapons and a few other very rare surprises, not to mention shit lot of blood echoes

There's also a +100 version that you can get from Chalice Dungeons. The other two are 50 and 70, so you can add a total of +220 Discovery just from them.
Raising your Arcane also raises your Discovery stat. At 50 you'll have a base of 209. So max at softcap with runes is 430 (any Rune rolls that 9 over to a 10 for some reason). At that much enemies almost always drop something if they can. Though the drop rate is still quite high with just the Runes on and Arcane not leveled much.
Amygdala is a side area boss that should, in general, be faced before the wet nurse. The Nightmare of Mensis is a higher level zone compared to the Nightmare Frontier.
Can anyone help me? I'm stuck on where to go next...
I killed Rom, and I know you're supposed to go to that lady that spawns there after you kill Rom but I think I went to the lantern first before going to the lady adn getting to the second floor of the study place to get to nightmare mensis. I tried going back to the lake but she isn't there. Anyone??

I went halfway into frontier, then finished the unseen village and started climbing the mensis area. Didn't know Amygdala at the end of that area (although they kind of forshadowed that)

Yeah, some games depend on your mindset more than others. =/
And sometimes, doing poorly in a game is a good sign to just call it a night, turn off the game, go to sleep, and challenge it again tomorrow.
I've found myself dreaming of how to parry bosses or perfect dodge some attacks when I sleep. It is scarier when I'm dreaming it in first person view. =_=;;
I must purge myself for my offsense. I'm going to break the stick on my controller and force myself to beat the rest of the game with it.
(I played half of Dark Souls 2 with a semi broken controller. I was screaming during the sentinels boss fight and woke up my roommate, so I finally went and bought a new one)
