Bloodborne |OT3| I Cane, I Saw, I Conqu- YOU DIED

Finally killed M
artyr Logarius. He's hard but once in the 70;s and with a good set I could eat quite some physical hits. I figured its better as I had no problems dodging his magic.

The key was to shoot him out of his aerial raves. Sometimes the lock goes awol, but i managed to do it about 3 times and it did good damage combined with V attack rune.

Do you think they will patch not having to warp back for enemies to respawn? That decision just baffles me in a game where you have to grind for vials.

Seriously.

Also; frenzy just takes a chuck of health, or am i missing anything?

I fucking hate dying to 1hit kills, I'd hope From could make a game without such cheap shit but I honestly don't think they are capable.

See, I was playing better and better in my first 5-10 hrs but VA's beaten me four times. Granted, three times were showing bloodborne to non-gamers, so i wasn't giving it my full attention.

Hopefully she dies tonight.

Edit: may help if i ask: is it worth not locking on against VA? And ive heard she's one you should get up close against. I did best against her doing diagonal rolls past and staying to her left and back side

I didn't lock onto her at all. I mean, I didn't have any tactics or whatever besides getting up close. I kind of winged it and didn't give a fuck because I thought I was going to die since I didn't expect to encounter her. But I beat her for some reason. Probably beginner's luck but I found it pretty easy without locking onto her.

I highly doubt they will change it. It only sucks because of the loading times. If you warp back while farming you are doing it wrong. Let an enemy kill you or use a Bold Hunters Mark

Finally killed the U
ndead
G
iant
(club version)
in one of my root chalice dungeons. That guy was a pain in the ass for me for some reason. Think I was being a bit too aggressive with him.

The art direction is on another level in Bloodborne. At least they outdid themselves. Souls has some nasty looking creatures but some of them look like Saturday morning cartoons compared to the shit here. Definitely more of a horror tinge. If you like that I suggest Demons Souls out of the other ones because it gets the closest to that in areas. Dark Souls is incredible for its interconnected world. You might like the bonfire system more than the lamps.

Seems like BB's difficulty is front-loaded for a lot of people. It was for me too and I know Souls. I still sucked at it because enough had changed, just takes a while before you know what the game expects. Unfortunately there was no mid or late game boss that made me feel like I really got over a hump. Dark Souls has those.

I was genuinely creeped out at
the chapel? area that was pitch black and full of those creepy guys that use a tentacle to suck blood out of your head and make creepy noises and movements.

whats a good time to stop upping vitality?

I'm currently at 25 I think, 1001 health. And my end/str/skill are all in their 24-25's.

I'm thinking of upping end some more so I can just spam slashes. My Bloodtinge is a pathetic 7. Will I see a notable increase by upping it?

Currently it takes like 20k souls to level up and I really don't know what to put in that will give me some instant gratification other than End and even that is a pathetic increment.

Just beat
Shadow of Yharnam
. From what I was reading earlier about this boss, it was supposed to be hard or something? Easiest boss in the game so far imo or was my threaded cane to pimp? Stayed in whip mode and was level 48. Maybe over leveled on my part?

All I did was
chase down fireball guy and kill him to avoid projectile spamming bullshit. Then since flaming sword guy and regular sword guy basically hold hands after that, I just whipped regular sword guy to death first and flaming sword guy became too easy as he did some basic level sword moves lol.

Yeap! My friend was having serious difficulties with this, but I whipped them to death in less than a minute.

The cane is legit!

So, trying to figure out if I got ahead of myself. I have beat
CB, Father G, BSB, Witches, AV, Paal, SoY and Rom.
I have cleared out all of what is the old jail but didn't go through what looked like boss door. Made it up to what I think the boss area is in
Cainhust Castle
and made it pretty far into
Nightmare Frontier.
Oh, also made it through the long ass ladder in
Forbidden Woods leading back to the clinic but have not fought the woman

So, what would be correct order to fight all these bosses? I mean, what would be the easiest one?

At the moment watch dog of the lords in defiled chalice, but theres other shit that kills me as well.

Ah, the defiled chalice is really its own beast. Yeah, shit gets kind of unfair in the later chalice dungeons or NG+, but the main game & platinum is pretty free of 1 hit kills.

Except for frenzy. Fuck frenzy.

Yeah the whip mode on the cane seemed to be the best weapon for the entire forest lol! Snakes couldn't even touch you in the forest 'cause of the basic whip attack and the hard jumping whip attack. The cane is too legit in this game.

You know I think the memory leak bug occurred with me when I fought L
ogarius
. After parrying him the first time he started moving faster like he does in his second phase but he never got his sword or used any move other than his staff swipe, which is easily dodged. Can anyone confirm how many attack patterns he's supposed to have?

Wet Nurse
was surprisingly easy.

I suspect Bloodborne will be the breaking point in art direction for the studio. They finally "nailed" it. They have great mechanics in place, that they can improve and tweak to no end. Imagine BB and DS playstyles being effectively infused and made viable in the next Souls game. And they have art direction which has been unanimously praised by everyone, thus confirming to creators that their approach was a success, giving them yet another cornerstone for the series.

I would probably like the DS approach more going by the things you say. When BB mechanics clicks, the game becomes interestingly challenging for the rest of the duration, but never have i felt that i became better and figured out more along the way. It just clicks or not. If it doesn't, i would probably be one of the guys hating on the game, because it would make no sense to me whatsoever 2/10 worst game ever.

No front-loading for the next game then please, for the good of the sales.

I'm about to fight him at level 63. I rang the bell but no one has shown up.

He has variations of the skull move (where he fires multiple smaller ones, one giant one), one where he stabs the sword in the ground and goes full Noctis (starts summoning lots of swords that track you), a superman dive and just a generally more aggressive moveset with his weapon.

Aight, only got final boss shit and
Ebrietas
to go.

The more I fight the latter the more I fucking hate it.

Just finished up my first play-through.

Incredible. Miyazaki can do wrong.

One question: I feel I know the answer already, but at Level 85, how over-leveled was I? Grossly?

Funny how that happens. I never once farmed for anything other than materials and even then, I wouldn't say I was excessive in that regard at all. I think it's more that after 3 Souls games, I've simply become more efficient at not losing things; I wouldn't have lost more than 100k of echoes my entire play-through.

He starts duel-wielding too when the sword isn't in the ground.

I got the true ending at around 67 I think, so not bad.

I got two U
mbilical
C
ords
and I know I can get a third one by beating the N
urse
. At what point should I use them to get the true ending? Also, how are you guys copying your saves to a USB device? I don't see that option anywhere in my PS4.

Anyone else keep finding random bloodstains with echos in the
Lecture Building
? i found two a few days ago, one with 2k echos, another with 5k. Today i found one with 14k on the first floor. They are always in the same spot. and no, i have never died there.

People always said about Soul games, and bloodborne included, that when you die. "it's all on you."

No it's fucking not.

Often it's because of the goddamn camera. Or the game disregarding it's own rules about careful exploration and battles against enemies with the respawning enemies in Yahargul (seriously, one of the biggest bullshits ever) or throwing three Hunters at you at once (how'd anyone expect a player to win a *fair* fight against odds like these????)

Cheap bastards, urghhhhhhhh.

I think grinding blood stone chunks will be the death of me. Been trying on the blue eyed wolves in upper cathedral but still no luck :/

It seems to switch. They were giving me blood stone chunks then nothing. Went over to the castle and the gargoyles were giving them up like crazy.

The camera can be turned off, that's new. And you died against the hunters because you didn't make the right call on your moves! And the game even gives you audio clues to tell you if the Yahar'gul enemies are dead or not.

So it's mostly always on you :)

Nah, the three hunter fight is bullshit. All the Souls games have a bullshit moment. They're just fair the other 99% of the time.

Finally did my way through those brain suckers or whatever the minors are called... what a annoying enemy. Almost impossible solo them if they manage to shoot you that bright stuff... also, do they steal insight from you?? Cause I had 27 insights, used 5 or 6 trying to find co-op, but before C
elestial
E
missary
I realized I only had 2. LOL

I hate those enemies! For real... more then the frenzy singer and the bell girls!

Finally managed to beat C
elestial
E
missary
though.

Man, Bloodtinge build shits all over story bosses like they nothing. I just shot Eribetas in the head with my Evelyn full upgraded + Bone Marrow Ash and it took out a good solid chunk of her life and I haven't even finish leveling my bloodtinge to 50 yet.

It's actually pretty easy if you separate them. But yeah, all the souls games have a bullshit boss/area.

Oh god, can i not get the wheel hunter badge other than from Alfred?

I already killed
Rom
so i guess Alfred will be MIA now, i need the
wheel weapon
for the achievement - oof

might be beating this game a third time
