I give up. I find my cousin more sexually attractive than my GF and she dumps me?

" And also, you are sexually more attractive than her, LOL"

Yeaaaaaah.

I absolutely empathize with you that it sucks and her reaction is harsh, but I can also definitely see why that made her freak out. The family angle also doesn't work in your favor here. I don't think it softens the blow.

Take your time to recover, learn from this and try getting back on the horse when you feel the time is right.

Here's the joke. It's stupid, you will all prob say I deserve the breakup but i'll be honest. It's not even a joke really but this is what I said.

She asked me why should she friend me on FB. I listed reasons like I think she is smart, ect

and at the end I said

" And also, you are sexually more attractive than her, LOL"

Look, if I deserved the breakup over that comment. That obviously was stupid, inappropriate go ahead and tear me apart. I want to know if it was justified for her to breakup over that comment.

To be 100% clear nothing ever happened between me and my cousin in any sexual mamer

Holy shit.

1) You hook up, then ignore her mails and calls for three days.

2) Then you message her, convince her you interested in a relationship.

3) You move from your parents house into her place, (which she owns).

4) She comes home to find that you are drunk, playing games with your friend till 3am.

5) In the morning she finds out you also messaged some other girl that you find more attractive.

And you are saying you have no idea why she doesn't want to be in a relationship with you.

Well there it is.

Kinda a weird thing to say to a cousin. But to each his own.

I have hot cousins, but I just don't go there. Just them being my cousins shuts down everything.
He was drunk. I assume that isn't something he'd usually say.

You told your cousin shes sexier than your girlfriend? If thats a joke, why isnt it funny?

Can't say I blame her really.
The whole thing is hella creepy.

I mean you were sexting your cousin. Her ending the relationship is analogous to exiting a cringe youtube video.

didn't sex. I was hammered and attempted a joke to maybe flatter her or shock her. It was stupid and yes creepy i get that. But the history you dont know is that we would joke that way in the past. nothing ever amounted to it. I'm not that kind of person. But enough for my ex to break the relationship apart? shatter everything we planned?

A inappropriate joke like that? I might was well fucked another girl that night. the results would have been the same.

You missed the part where he said they used to make this joke a lot, but the cousin matured.

Pretty much this.

Also you have a bad attitude so that probably didn't help either.

If a girl reads that you texted some other girl that the other is more sexually attractive, I think she has a right to be suspicious.

"Oh no babe, you got it all wrong! That's my cousin!"

Someone said above that this isn't breakup worthy and I somewhat agree. There needs to be something else mixed in. Does she have self esteem issues?

Is him being drunk playing games with his friends a big deal? I admit the whole cousin thing is creepy and weird as fuck but I do think she could have talked to him about it.

You mention several times in your original post that you ‘did everything for her’ what do you mean by that, in my experience a relationship where you do everything for someone isn’t a two way street.

What you said to your cousin was out of line though, and if she can’t forgive you then it might be best to close that door.

OP ignored the girl for three days. I think it's safe to say that she does have some issues with him.

Even if she wasnt respecting your privacy, which was wrong on her part, you still called some other woman (whos related to you no less) more attractive. I can see why she wants you out.

You serious with this? I'd break up with your ass for that too.

Wasn't going to work if that joke is what set her off. You dodged a bullet.

Also she went through your phone while you were smashed. That's a million times worse than your (really bad) joke.

Uhm. This is a cousin you haven't joked with in years apparently, and you're telling her she's sexier than your ex. Your cousin also isn't apparently on your friendslist either. And you pretty much just sugared her up by complementing her and ending with 'You're sexier than her.'.

.......Yeah, after your girlfriend lets you move in with her, after you ignore her when she comes home because you're drunk playing video games, and after you flirt with your damn cousin(Who your Ex probably doesn't know is your cousin) in her own damn house, with no previous context to the relationship between your cousin and you, yeah I'm on yoru GFs side here. Ya fucked up, don't drink if you can't handle what you say.

Games are really just a distraction right now. I actually kinda feel like a loser though. Here I was, sleeping in a big bed with a beautiful woman getting some lovin constantly, and now im in a small empty place, sleeping on the floor playing videogames while she is doing god knows what at night.
NEVER talk about videogames that way AGAIN!

yes. She always would watch me whenever I went on my phone. I was not allowed to have a lock key on my phone when she did. She would get mad at me at say a store cause another woman looked at me.

She was so insecure and have been burned in the past sooooo many times I think the very second she found something. ANYTHING, she convinced herself

" See, all men at the same!"

1/ Was it the first time you got drunk and played videogames for the whole night with one of your buddies ?

2/ Did you have a job when you were together ?

3/ Did you gain weight ?

4/ Did she gain weight or complain about how ugly/fat she looked at any point before the incident ?

I admit I ignored her calls and I hurt her emotionally.

well, I go to bed later that night and my girlfriend gets my phone while im passed out and starts chatting with my cousin. She was pissed and wanted to know why I was talking to her ect.

For the next 2 months every single day my GF would bring it up. Every single day id apologize and do everything for her, I did everything I could to save this relationship but it wasn't enough.

.....................

Bolded what I see to be slights, petty behaviours, and lack of respect.

You'll recover from this and hopefully find a better relationship.

So let me guess. Your cousin told her about your history of creepy sex jokes. Yeah that'd probably do it.

First time have gotten drunk in her presence.

Had a job, paid my rent, had my own car.

didnt gain weight.

she never gained weight

" And also, you are sexually more attractive than her, LOL"

This should be the OP's new tag.

Dude, what the hell were you thinking? Oh, right, you were probably letting your little head think, not the big one.

I'll admit the whole calling your cousin more sexy than your GF is creepy as all hell, but if they were serious about marriage they could have tried to work through this.

Lets be real. MANY females check out guys and talk to guys with their friends whom they call hot all the time. If that's the basis of ending a relationship everyone would be single.

With the context of how insecure she is and the fact he already burned her once, I'm not surprised the joke was enough to end the relationship.

I think it is relationship breaking worthy. After all she's done? That's what you talk about her? Yeah no.

She fucked up by inviting him to live with her after being together for 3 months. She realized she made a mistake and corrected it.

I think that if you could have properly conveyed what your joking relationship with your cousin was/used to be, you could have defused the situation right then and there.

Guys, I think we're really skipping over the most relevant part of the discussion...

Was your cousin, in fact, more attractive than your girlfriend? We really need to nail this down.

With the context of how insecure she is and the fact he already burned her once, I'm not surprised the joke was enough to end the relationship.

From the sounds of it and the culmination of the matter, she probably had past boyrfriends cheat on her, thus the insecurity. So something like a 'you're sexier' comment to someone else would be a huge fucking trigger.

With the context of how insecure she is and the fact he already burned her once, I'm not surprised the joke was enough to end the relationship.

Seems to me this would have exploded sooner or later anyway. If so this timing might have saved him future grief.

It's like you had her heart in your hand, pulled up a knife and started stabbing it repeatedly.

Women are way different than man dude, don't you ever forget that.

Your joke was disturbing no doubt..the fact that you're not allowed to lock your phone and her reaction to other women looking at you are huge red flags though...the relationship was doomed in my opinion, no real trust or respect in either direction.
