Bloodborne |OT+++| ...and so the Nightly Hunt continues

On NG+ with my first character; decided that I'm going to abandon that one do a second character where I do everything in the game like I did with the other Souls game (despite me never platinuming Da/Da2).

Overall, I love the game. It's amazing but it isn't without it's disappointments. I wanted more of the intricacy that you get in Central Yarnham. The later levels with the exception of Forbidden Woods are somewhat linear and felt more like Dark Souls areas where they're decently length but it's one long path to the boss until you unlock a shortcut.

The healing system is iffy too. It's balance between De and Da but falls short on both.

Also, it's weird saying this even though I compare it to the Souls game all the time, but the game is too much like Souls. It has an entirely new name I felt they should of went all the way and try to differentiate it a lot more. Mainly every new element is just a variation of something from Souls (health system, the hub, etc) or just a souls item named differently (blood cocktails/alluring skull, shining coins/prism stone, etc). With this curse in the game and idea that you can turn into a beast I legitimately thought there was gonna be a mechanic in the game that lets you transform like how FG does in order to spice up the combat.

And while I'm not saying it should be a different game entirely and that there isn't anything new (trick weapons are really cool), I hope in Bloodborne 2 From takes pretty much all the amazing elements so far and make the perfect game. One that is 2x longer please. I want more areas that are 2x longer than the longer areas and have them being intricate as fuck.

Essentially this feels like Demon's Souls 2. Not in mechanics, lore, and gameplay but in spirit. Laying the groundwork for what could be the best FromSoft game with Bloodborne 2.

Am I losing out on max potential with Ludwigs Holy Blade by not leveling up arcane and putting an elemental gem on it? I mean, i've been using max strength with it, and I leveled up skill to the soft cap, but I feel like i'm not using the sword to it's full potential.
nah, with arcane it's either str/skill OR arcane, not both.

Thanks to gaf I got the game and loving it so far, few questions tough, what are the best stats to level up? All equal or focus health, endurance and strength?

I killed cleric beast 1st try but used 20 potions lol is the game supposed to be this hard lol first ever of its type for me. For combat I try to pick them off slowly now but still die on some random enemies like giant rat (about 5 cornered me lol) any tips for a newbie

Also is dark souls just as good? Is it harder?

I know, i'm just wondering if it would be better to go full 50 with arcane vs. 50 strength / 25 skill.

Would it do more damage with 50 arcane or more damage with 50 strength / 25 skill?

i have an arcane ludwig's and it's much easier to stack physical runes

I died to Father G many times, but the time I killed him was with nothing but V. Attacks and it felt great. Easily my favorite boss in the game because of that, though apparently I missed out on some shit in later boss fights.

He is stupid easy on NG+. His damage barely increases from NG. While I felt Shadow of Yarnhem was easy on NG, I felt it was by far the hardest fight on NG+.

I beat FG on NG+ only using one potions (and I did not need to, I was at 80% HP and I used a vial during his transformation, he did not land a hit on me in his final phase)

I feel like I am missing something obvious. I just beat
amygdala
I am trying to get to
Nightmare of Mensis

all the guides I have looked up just say to walk down the path and you will get there. I dont see a path at all, this boss was in a dead end. What am I missing?

You access
Nightmare of Mensis by moving forward after defeating the boss of Yahar'gul.

So what's the strat on the
crawlers in Cain Hurst?
these things are tearing me apart.

You just gotta find an opening and go for it.

Wrong place, buddy.

Dark Souls is as good, but its a totally different gameplay pace than Bloodborne (less fast paced). And yes its supposed to be that hard :p

The entrance to Nightmare on Mensis is in the up stairs of the lecture hall. You cannot reach the upstairs until you beat the final boss in Unseen Village (Tonsil Stone gives you access to downstairs and Nightmare Plain).

end game questions...

I'm guessing Gehram is the final boss? Want to do everything before I beat him. Didn't know there was an upper cathedral ward, so going to tackle that. also if i eat 3 cords before you beat him, I can get to the true final boss? or get the true final ending?

Sheesh! Finally beat the game and on to new game +! Which I'll tackle after a bit of a break. Bloodborne has been quite the journey.

My final playtime was 47:47, and I was level 91. Fantastic game! Some parts frustrated me to no end, and the camera led to many deaths, but overall it was a great time. I'll write up a review eventually.

You can always put points into health and endurance, but the other stats depend on what weapons you're using and how good the scaling is for them. As for tips I would just say take your time and watch for ambushes and for most bosses staying behind the majority of them and parrying when you have a chance helps a lot. I'd say this game is just as good if not better than Dark Souls and it is easier than DS for me anyway.

Asking again because OT2 got filled up before I got an answer.

Anyone got a recommendation for a good guide at this point (as the official one is not yet released)? I started NG+ and I would like this run to be more complete one, as I played my first playthrough blind and missed a ton of stuff.

Uh. Yes to everything.

yes. As soon as you choose an option from him it goes into the endgame.
(if you lose to him or the moon boss you can go elsewhere though)
I recommend eating the 3 cords beating Gherman and then dying the moon boss, that why you can get the Schythe and upgrade it some

Just beat A
bhorrent
B
east
in Ailing Loran Chalice Dungeon(depth 4). Feel kinda bad for cheesing him, though. Just threw poison knives while walking around the perimeter of the arena. But a win's a win.

Forbidden Forest is one of the most treacherous levels I've played of all time. Thank God for Suspend/Resume & this Spotify playlist I found just for it. https://open.spotify.com/user/oursonwelles/playlist/6GTcJs7sZjByZSsapkljpo

Feels really good once you kill the boss to reexplore and find all the nooks and crannies. Lot of hidden shit in there. Actually started to use the coins to mark retraversed paths and it worked pretty well

Hated it before I figured it out. Liked it once I was relieved of the pressure of figuring out where the end point was ha

So, few questions about NPC and progression.

What all NPC's can be
sent to the church?
So far, I've
sent the old lady, the whore, the little girl and the beggar. I found the little girl's ribbon by the pig, the beggar killed the old lady so I took care of him, and the nun is dead. Is there anyone left?

On progress, i just beat
Shadows of Yarnham. I can either continue into Byrgenwerth where bugs screw me up, or try my luck at the Lecture Building because Tonsil Stone. I haven't explored there, only unlocked it.
What would you guys recommend?

I love the fact that (NPC related spoiler/Souls game spoiler)
Patches is a spider now and I fell for his shit again.

Yharnam is the best blood mage of the History of the RPGs, nonetheless it sucks that you can't make a blood mage for yourself and play exactly as she does.

How do you "spec" you arcane blade? I cant figure it out only the gem makes any diffrence to me? Maybe i just dont have enough material?

61 Hours and I am three trophies (
All Weapons, Blood Gem Master and Hidden Chalice trophy)
away from Platinum. Although I have only tackled depth 1 of the chalice dungeons so I'm sure I have a ways to go yet.

Started a Depth 5 Great Isz Chalice Dungeon. Walked into a teleport trap, got sent to a room with spiders, two firebreathing dogs and a witch. Died pretty quickly. Respawned at the lantern, figured out another entrance into that room, and systematically killed everything in there. Man, this game...

any elemental gem you slot onto your weapon makes it arcane in place of your physical attack. ludwig's has the highest arcane scaling with an A; however, the gem slots makes it much easier to just stack physical-attack runes. also, if you slot an elemental gem onto your weapon you cannot use fire/bolt papers and phantasm shell. maybe if i grind for some rare elemental gems it'd be worth it. maybe.

Lemme eat too.

Bruhbruh this response got me rolling lmfao!

Aight so, lemme spit some hot fire for yall.
I'm on NG+

spawn at forbidden woods, have higher moon and higher visceral atk runes on, you can put more exp runes on but I like my 15% stam. Kill every enemy with parry when possible (you won't get them all but that's fine) expect the dead niggas in the water, I run past these guys, I don't bother killing them. Do this up until you get to the cannon and when u get there, kill the cannon guy first, if there's too many heads at one point, just kill them regularly, u still get a lot of echoes per kill. Bold hunter mark back, repeat. Takes like 4 min as long as you aren't getting bopped.

There's probably better spots out there but I'm only at forbidden woods atm and this is what I'm doing for now and it's doing me justice. Don't be too greedy with the stacking of echoes, make sure to spend them at a certain amount obviously cause I lost like 750K one time and omfg fuck that shit.

Actually fuck what I said about the stamina, deff use 2 moons and the higher visceral atk runes, way more echoes.

How did you get the trophy for beating
Yharnam
if you haven't done much as far as Chalice Dungeons?
I still need to do that, I'm missing a weapon, a precious Blood Gem, and the other endings...

I feel like once you beat
Rom
the game just goes "Oh you thought you where getting better? Fuck you!" This
Paleblood Moon
stuff is wrecking me and what's up with the
hunter in the grand cathedral.
I am just getting wrecked now

Does it matter which Ritual Altar i choose for my chalice dungeon? why there is a delete chalice option? why would someone delete one, if you can go back anytime you want?

It doesn't matter. It's just so that you can have multiple dungeons open at once. You can remove the chalice to make room for another if all other slots are full.

Nice, I'm finna try that out later.

Hey what's the deal with the
spider with a human head in the lecture area? I talked to him, but never encountered him after that, did I miss anything with him?

When I talked to him, I was able to get 3 different dialogues with him including a yes/no question. In the end, I got a rune from him. Then he disappeared from my game.

Easy mode Blood Echoes farming route on NG+ is starting from Witch's Abode lampost you just go straight and killed 3 witches and 3 executioners then teleport back. The real meat of the run are the Executioners that you have to parry for the extra blood Echoes. Equip the extra Blood Echoes plus the one that gives you more echoes on Viscerals. You get like 30K per Executioner kill netting you over 100K Blood Echoes for killing like 6 enemies. You can kill the dogs on the side too if you want.
