How do you beat the npc guy in
nightmare mensis, after the spider room
?

my fights last 3 seconds. Does he drop anything good or should I just not bother, I opened the shortcut in the next room

clear the spider room by running into the halls just past the room the big one cant get you and the littles guys all line up together. Kill the big guy with the cannon (he is weak against it (2 shots from cannon will take him down to 30%, if you use blood bullets you can kill him like that with 4 shots) or use poison knives.

With the spiders dead lure him back into the spider room and fight on the stairs (stand at the bottom of the stairs if he starts to come down back away and he will back off). He does not run past the stairs much and when he does his R2 attack run and get a get a quick hit. Just be careful with him you get caught in one off his combo and you are a dead man.

Anyone else think Chalice dungeons are a huge wasted opportunity?

Coop is utterly useless in them. Progress is only saved for the host.

That system works fine for the main game, but Chalice dungeons seem like the perfect place for more traditional coop.

Stumbled upon Father Gascoigne without realizing that I just walked into a boss fight. Somehow beat him on my first try! I think I am really understanding this game much better now that I spent time grinding out a few levels and getting accustom to the fighting mechanics!

any elemental gem you slot onto your weapon makes it arcane in place of your physical attack. ludwig's has the highest arcane scaling with an A; however, the gem slots makes it much easier to just stack physical-attack runes. also, if you slot an elemental gem onto your weapon you cannot use fire/bolt papers and phantasm shell. maybe if i grind for some rare elemental gems it'd be worth it. maybe.

So the best way is to slot a red blood gem so it still physical and stack two other physcal gems. That way i get the most dmg and i can still use the empty shell for extra dmg?

Golgo13: i can't managed more then 2-3 hours daily hehe......so 100hours would be whole month for me :)

But yeah game is like a drug, addictive :P

In these cases, I just start shooting like mad and hope the damage is enough.

Hah, that's a good tip. Because I mostly 2H Ludwig's sword, I don't use guns enough.

Yahargul/Unseen Village is probably the only area I didn't like so far.
You can't properly explore it because of the massive amount of enemies. Feels like I constantly have to rush through it.

He does. Killing maidens causes him to do a stronger attack where his head glows red.
But not killing maidens makes the fight more difficult, at least for me.
Do as you wish. :)
That makes sense, since I found that easier for me. Somehow.

I was a bit sloppy, but I did it!
I don't think so.

Stay out of range of the kick, learn his patterns he has several points when he is not kicking (like when he is puking) run in get a R2/R1 combo in and double roll back to where you were. He staggers occasionally, run in, and get 1 charged R2 in then back out. When you get greedy you get stunned by a kick then KO'd by shit from the sky.
...or maybe I'm just weird and found it easier when
fireballs were raining down on me
. I tried to not be too greedy, but I was getting impatient. I think I toned it down enough, though.

Thanks, guys.

So many shortcuts to be found, i kinda rushed things from my first playthrough and never explored areas like forbidden forest so much. This place is just too brutal...

First time FromSoft doing something like this no?
It'll be refined feature later on if they gonna used for future games.

GAF, HELP!

I have no life anymore, all I've been doing is playing Bloodborne since it released.

I have over 150 hours to the game already, with a lot of aborted builds as well.

My parents, my sisters, & my GF have only seen me like once since the game has released,
& it's been glorious
.

Oh my God, I just killed
Rom the Vacuous Spider
and now the entire world is fucked up. The Unseen Village especially:
all the bag guys were slaughtered, the Gaol lamppost was torn to shreds, and there are Amygdalas on all the buildings.
I feel responsible for whatever the hell happened.

Man, I'm really getting invested in the setting of the game. Easily From's best so far.

The
Amygdalas were always there
: ).
Now killing Rom just lifted their Veil.
In fact depending on which option you choose for an ending you will see them during NG+ prior to
killing Rom
.

I had to do him in 3 tries. His last stage was hard for me. Dude moves so quick and hits so hard.

So like, Nightmare Frontier is a bastard of area.

What should I wear? Poison resist? Frenzy resist? And only if we have Rock-Throwing resist too ://////////////////

Tiny Musical Box!

Is there a point of no return in this game? Because I feel like I've missed a few things so far..

Yea. Also there are distinct "checkpoints" where certain stuff are closed off forever before NG+.

So I'm trying to rush Cainhurst for my Bloodtinge build (want evelyn) ran in and cleared the castle slow but fine but I'm just getting destroyed by Logarius cuz my damage is quite low.

I have a +6 axe which isn't cutting it since I only have 10 str :(

Now why would you invest in building the axe to that point if you only have 10 STR points, lol.

I mean, I am very curious to the line of thinking that prompts you to do that, lol.

Don't bother with anything there. My strategy is (from the lamp) to aggro the torch-wielding monsters so they take the frenzy hits (while you cover behind the rocks). When the frenzy spikes start hitting them, just bolt to the left, run past all the slow giants and open the doors at the end.

Once you learn that staying close during his Beast Form (even though you don't want to) is the key the fight is stupid easy. As soon a you run away from his start doing all of his jumping and lunging.

best moveset and high base damage without requiring additional strength. I was going to upgrade the rifle spear but the more I used it the less I liked it. I mean nothing actually scales with bloodtinge except 2h chikage so I'm kind of SOL until I get that weapon anyways.

what level are you supposed to be by the time you get to the
Unseen Village
which opens after you kill a certain spider, cause I'm level 53 now and I feel I'm underlevel right now.

there are some enemies here that look like a bunch of corpses on a box that can one hit kill me and is there anyway to lure the 3 hunters one by one, it seems I cannot get close to anyone without alerting the others, and they follow me forever

My level is in the low 60's and the skeleton box things aren't one shoting me, you may have under levelled vitality. The level is definitely tougher than anything before hand but once you know the layout it's not too bad.

Is there a point of no return in this game? Because I feel like I've missed a few things so far..

I had to start over half way through...the blind run couldnt have gone any worse...sent the rigth NPC to the wrong haven, screwed up just about every NPC quest possible...screw that started over...then screwed
Eileen
up as she was fighting in the
Oeden
place before I even saw her in the cathedral...wasnt prepared, she died. Now at least I can do the dex blade of mercy run with this character, but come on...the wuests are too easy to screw up and appear gltchy.

Ugghh so many things to hate in this area :(((

Yea but I mean, Axe is like a very clearly definitely a STR weapon and of course it's gonna be weakened significantly with a low STR.

Did you unlock any shortcuts yet?

I went with Frenzy Resist and a bunch of Antidotes.

The falling rock one yeah.

Should I split Frenzy + Poison Resist...? I do have two Runes with +100 Slow Poison Resist and +200 Frenzy Resist though... maybe I should equip them both.

he said nightmare frontier not nightmare of mensis.

I can continue leveling rifle spear but I'm not sure it will solve my problems

Sorry, I am curious, what is your current level and stat?

I upgraded Rifle Spear too and while I do find it very useful in some... well, many... situations, yea it's not a very efficient boss killing weapon for me. I basically keep it for its charging thrust attack and nothing more.

he said nightmare frontier not nightmare of mensis.

I don't even know we have two nightmares here, lol.

How do I access the other one?

So what's the deal with online and chalice dungeons exactly?
On the Bloodborne site it says that randomly generated chalice dungeons requires a internet connection to be created, but I've used a root chalice completely offline.
And it's description says that the area changes every time it's used.

What level should I stop at? I'm at 136 atm. I know I'm not supposed to go crazy high so what level should ppl stop at?

If you don't want to go crazy in the defiled chalice I think you are ok. Just make sure your vits is around 1700 (with runes) or you will get one shot by the bosses too easy.

I would say 150 is the sweet spot. The depth 5 chalices are still hard but not maddening.

I am 144 on my 2nd char with

50 vit (1650 hp with 10% rune equipped)
40 endurance
37 str
50 skill
7 Blood
8 Arc

From here on out I will alternate putting points into vit and str. Ludwig's gains 3-4 more attack with each point and when I get some of the better gems (I found a +19.5% gem in the D5 chalice on my other char) it will scale even better.

But at 134 you should be able to beat NG+ without too much trouble.

Nevermind, I just needed to git gud on phase 2. Getting my parries off consistently and not getting rekt by his flying attack let me finish him off.

Dark Souls is as good, but its a totally different gameplay pace than Bloodborne (less fast paced). And yes its supposed to be that hard :p

You can always put points into health and endurance, but the other stats depend on what weapons you're using and how good the scaling is for them. As for tips I would just say take your time and watch for ambushes and for most bosses staying behind the majority of them and parrying when you have a chance helps a lot. I'd say this game is just as good if not better than Dark Souls and it is easier than DS for me anyway.

thanks, was worried i was terribly bad at the game lol, cant wait to see some of the newer gear

God damn im a slow player. You would think I could breeze through those woods on my first character but im still lost getting lost on my new character.

Is it possible to have a plague doctor mask on your character when playing the game?
That's like the only reason I would be interested in this.

On NG+ and I'm reading about how to get
all three umbilical cords.
Didn't realise there were entire areas of the game I missed in my first run, and quite a lot of them too.

I don't even know we have two nightmares here, lol.

How do I access the other one?
There are two doors in the
Lecture building
with purple fog seeping out of them, one on each floor. You went through one to get to the Nightmare level you are in now. The other is on the other floor, on the opposite end of the one you went through.

Yes, yes you can.

What's a good blood echoes farming spot? I am on the final boss of the game, and cleared all of the optional bosses, but I want to farm blood echoes and tidy up couple of other trophies at the same time,

Hey Gaf,

Need some advice on what stats to invest, now my stats are like this:
Killed 2 bosses and i am still early in the game i think.
Using the Axe as of now, did not find any weapon so far.

Level 24

VIT: 15
END: 14
STR: 14
SKILL:14
BLD: 9
ARCANE: 8

Thanks
