Have you tried getting a co-op hunter?

I had to solo kill it as well (my co-op hunter died) but she played a vital role in getting the bosses attention. For me, the boss was susceptible to heavy blunt attacks (R2 Axe) and it would frequently be knocked down after it's pattern combo. When it starts spraying, just run, not only the because of the poison but it will go immediately into the combo attack after roaring. I had to use molotovs (10) on it and my weapon was the flamethrower. Good luck!

how do I get a co-op hunter? this is a novel concept to me?

if you are on new game+ use the scythe. Stay close to his head, when he goes for the sweeping bite, as his head comes back to neutral tap L2. Eventually he starts adding more bites into that attack, just keep range and L2 when hes done biting. Learn the tell for the charge attack, when he spits lava charge in and smash his legs.

nope, but the axe works too. i'm trying that atm.

noob alert but I'm stuck on the Blood Starved Beast. I tried using
the blood cocktail things to lure it away, but I couldn't seem to throw them far enough.
I also tried
using the torch paper on my weapon, which nearly worked, but it went beserk and killed me with about a quarter of its life left.
I've died on it about 10 times now and I'm at my wits end.

I found that dodging towards and to the left of nearly all of BSB's attacks basically won me the fight. Apart from that I don't really have any other tips for it except for during the third phase, when BSB does its roar and poison gets sprayed around him, AVOID that area as it's currently a poison cloud. That's all I can say unfortunately. Good luck.

Ok, so in the hunter dream, you can buy it with insight (right outside the hunter workshop, it's a another fountain) - it's a beckoning bell, and for 1 insight it will give you a buff that allows for any players in the area seeking co-op to join you. In turn, you may also ring the summon bell and be summoned.

Question, so I just did a Chalice dungeon. I am not exactly sure which one it was. I forget. Anyway, the Third Layer: Heart is a boss against a watch dog that uses fire. . Is that the entire dungeon? I can't really find an alternate route.

I think I have a few more bosses before I finish the main game. Then it's on to Chalice Dungeons.

I want to make them as easy as I can. I don't mind grinding levels (I actually kind of like it) but not sure if it would even make a difference. I've heard some of the later dungeons are difficult even at 100+. Is there a level range where they dungeons get a little easier?

Also
I know the Defiled dungeon cuts your HP in half. Is it cutting your actual HP in half, or your Vitality?

This is already one of my fav games of all time. Definitely buying a souls game on Steam after I'm done with this. Should I get DS1 or 2?

Done a TON of co-op here and can beat it maybe half the time without taking a hit.

When he does his leap attack, which it does alot in the 1st phase, dodge STRAIGHT back. It sort should put you right in range for 1 or 2 safe hits before dodging out. With a little patience you can get it to its second phase just doing that. When it gets angrier, dodging back is out of the question. Dodge to its side or behind it and you can gets hits while its smacking away at thin air. You have to be brave and just go for it and get under its attacks.

Last phase is the same, as the 2nd. Try not to let the poison rattle you and stay aggressive in getting behind it and getting hits. Keep an antidote or 2 on hand if you get poisoned. I think its the witches gear that you can get by that point in the game gives you some added poison resist as well. Key is to be patient during its first phase and be aggressive in the other 2. Also fire weapons are good and it REALLY doesn't like the flamesprayer if you have it.

That or as someone else mentioned it's pretty parry-able if you're good with your timing

My 2c on Insight; the suspicion it scales difficulty is flawed, in my opinion, beyond character attack gimmicks (as in function over stat changes) and maybe some encounter tweaks. That and I think high insight = high frenzy susceptibility? Anyway, if there's some World Tendency-like scaling through insight I doubt it's significant. By the end of the game I had 90-something and still cleaned up the final bosses without dying.

High insight sometimes spawns extra enemies in some areas
I had over 50 insight in NG+ at Hemwick Lane & it seems that the enemies that the witch summons spawn in the entire level
, if you combine that with a more aggressive AI & very very low frenzy resistance, it's certainly more difficult.

For me, the low frenzy resistance is what's making it difficult, I can deal with more enemies with better AI, but I hate those alien brain things.

DA hell have people just stoped co-oping in this game? Been legit trying to summon help for the martyr fight for the last two days with no results. Soon as I ring the small bell I get summoned immediately though.

Why is no one else ringing the small bell ?

The only conclusion I can come to is that people dont want waste thier resources.

Stumbled upon Father Gascoigne without realizing that I just walked into a boss fight. Somehow beat him on my first try! I think I am really understanding this game much better now that I spent time grinding out a few levels and getting accustom to the fighting mechanics!

I'm jealous. Bastard took me forever. Had him down to a sliver of health on my second attempt, but it took me 15+ by the end of it.

However, I think it was an awesome fight and his back story is pretty cool/sad if you find it.

Okay, finished the game got all 3 endings question about
moon presence
fight, is there any way to dodge or negate that attack that brings you down to 1hp? That with the no healing was seriously pissing me off.

yeah, but I'm either always doing it at the wrong time with this boss, or my gun is too weak (if that's possible).

I did get him stunned once but he hit me at the same time so i couldn't follow up with a strong attack.

you are slightly too late then.

Gun dmg has NOTHING to do with parry. You can deal 1 dmg and still parry the boss, or deal 1000 gun dmg with wrong timing and not parry it

dash him and recover your health with quick attacks. He's not moving for many long seconds

I ran away the moment they ganged up on me and then fought them one by one. I assume any sane person would do the same :P

You can sneak up on the one and do a charge attack and backstab combo. Then charge attack again while he's getting up. That puts him pretty low before the other two enter the fray.

Any tip for Ebrietas?
I get her down to 30% quite easily, but then she goes berserk and puts her damaging aura up, and I'm dead.

Aggro them and then run back to the lamp. Hopefully only 1 will follow you (Two followed me, but taking on 2 was better than 3).
That did the trick, 2 guys followed but didn't enter the room, all i had to do was slash through the wall and then kill the last one.

How's the damage on the Augur Hunter Tool at base 18 ARC? I'm thinking it might compliment my transformed Kirkhammer as it presumably would reach a little further and counter-poke people in PVP swinging wildly just outside of hammer-range, allowing me to get in.

Does anyone know if using the paper weapon buffs (fire, lightning etc) scale with Arcane? I'm guessing yes? Also presumably it still uses your STR/SKILL stats for the weapon, just with added fire or whatever on top?

I'm level 80 something, and these are my current stats. Just wondering if I should focus anything on Arcane at all. Sort of wish I'd focused on Arcane instead of Bloodtinge as the Cannon is no longer as effective, since my weapons already do so much damage. Also did not realise Arkane affected Discovery.

Vitality - 30
Endurance - 20
Strength - 37
Skill - 25
Bloodtinge - 18
Arkane - 7

Thoughts for NG+? Currently use Axe, Ludwig, Cannon and Evelyn.

been watching some LPs and it appears I missed a lot of shit in Forbidden Woods. I wanted to leave that place so badly that I didn't explore it much in NG lol

Omg I keep scrubbing it up on R

in the Lower P
thu
Chalice Dungeon.
For some reason his
magic projectiles blasts keep wrecking me and they seem to track on me while I'm running.
And summoning isn't working at all for me down in there...
I think I might take a break from this game until the guide comes out and until the load times patch comes out.
I beat the game and I am two chalice dungeon trophies away from the platinum.

Nah. I've had about 20 summons for BSB in the last hour and a half. Bell responses are near instantaneous for me now that I no longer play Bloodborne from suspension.

Tonitrus scales really well with Strength so you might want to factor it into your considerations.

Hahaha, well you don't have to, though you *can*. That route I was describing is the fastest way of unlocking the 1st shortcut without all the hassle or risk of dying. Really fast. Afterwards just go explore wherever :)

Well, I did. I decided to just run up and attack it and it was surprisingly easy. The
Werewolves that awaited me, however ... I was really only able to survive them/kill them via fire bombs.
Shortcut accomplished!

If it's in the same room as mine was it's possible to
hide behind a pillar to block his projectiles
I still found the fight pretty difficult though.
