Bloodborne |OT+++| ...and so the Nightly Hunt continues

Any hunter you kill, the armor they wore shows up there. Also get Tomb armor in there along with other sets.

At points you will be able to buy Fire / Bolt paper from that vendor with insight also.

I stock up on Bolt / Fire paper. Love that shit.

Later game hunters
okay so there's three hunters in the Yaharagul chapel...will their gear show up in there. I didn't realize this possibility, though I did get Henryks gear. Just curious if they're worth fighting because they destroyed me.

Well when the hell does that happen? LOL. I'm currently in
nightmare Mensis
which somebody told me is 4/5 of the way done with the game. Let at that paper!

I don't know what causes new items to appear. By that point in the game I could buy bolt/fire paper, numbing mist, bone blades, lead/blue elixir and a bunch of new gear. I feel like they unlocked after beating bosses.

I think they could have stuck the Castlevania name on this and it would be a good castlevania game. Anyone else agree with me?

The entire series has always felt like the third-person 3D version of Castlevania to me. If not in mechanics, at least in spirit. Dark Souls is basically SotN.

So
is this badass motherfucker in a yellowy version of the mascot set with a cleaver and a pistol who's persisted through deaths supposed to be here?

He's
Gascoigne's partner. Eileen the Crow should be there if you progressed her story line otherwise you've got a tough fight ahead of you if you want that outfit.

Bloodborne lacks in a few areas that are maybe up for debate (character variety,) but one in which I feel there is just a massive step backwards is NPCs. Bloodborne has no Solaire of Astora. It doesn't even have a Stockpile Thomas.

Bloodborne is jammed with content. I'm shocked at how many maps and enemies and bosses are present. But the NPC stuff feels halfbaked. Maybe that's the direction Based Miyazaki felt appropriate. Maybe it was low on the list of priorities. But the NPCs mostly have no quest. If they have any quest, it's two steps long and doesn't involve much except talking to the NPC then going right into a fight. If Eileen the Crow and Alfred represent the apex of Bloodborne NPC interactions, then NPC interactions are not a highpoint of Bloodborne.

This was a major complaint of Dark Souls 2 as well. There are certainly some interesting characters, but their development is no where near the level of the first games.

Demons Souls and Dark Souls were packed with endearing and memorable characters. It is really a shame to see this aspect of the series remain in decline.

Did you do 3 legit playthrough or did you use savestates?
Because then of course it isn't as time consuming.
NG++ and NG+++ took me less than 4 hours to rush by :3 I think most people who 100% it the "legit" way ran past everything eventually!

She was and
he immediately massacred her.

It's pretty badly put together, imo.

If you go alone, it's a heck of a though fight, but if she comes in and you let her fight alone, most likely she'll get destroyed. If you help, there's good chances you'll hit her too many times by accident and she'll go hostile after the other hunter is dead.

I think it's the badges you pick up that unlock new items. Oftentimes they're dropped by bosses, like Sword Hunter Badge, sometimes they are lying around in dangerous places.

I can't catch a fuckin' break with this game. I can't get the co op to work, either.

I'm not really understanding this Chalice Dungeon system. I just finished the first one, killing the giant fire thing at the end, and now I think I'm on the second one - it's called Pymtherudhishds-whatever, which is the same as the first, but it's 'Depth 2'. I assume that's right.

woohoo. walked into boss A
mydalai lama
in this n
ightmare
area and got it in one try. Ludwig's +7 hits to the head did whooping 680 dmg.
That area was beatiful but fook frenzy and poison.
The two hunters were lower tier compared to others.
Question, a minute before the boss
there is a cave, from the pool of poison with the squishy zoidbergs in it. Does it lead somehwere? Going back there now but i'm low on antidotes.

So far Martyr is still on top of bosses with most needed tries.

Do we know what insight does yet? I mean beyond speculation? I read it makes the game harder so I'm tempted to lower mine, but those vendors who accept insight are fucking useless. They have nothing worth buying.

Fire Paper and Bolt Paper are totally worth buying.

I flip the bird to
Nightmare of Mensis
pretty hard but goddamn the fight against
Micolash, Host of the Nightmare
is really fun.

Yeah I was afraid of hitting her too much. Atlast she was KIA on my second character..

There are a few runes in that area, totally worth exploring to get them all.

once you finish one, you have a chalice to create the next one. second one is Central, then it's Lower. you need the mats/echoes to create them.

They need to improve how co-op works in Chalice dungeons. No one ever joins me and I've never been able to join anyone else. I have it set to open and I'm using the bell. They need a matchmaking feature. And it'd be great if they had a toolset so people can make their own dungeons and bosses.

Yoshi have you even slept since BB came out? :p

You streaming DS2 today? Interested to see if BB has any influence on your build in any way.
When I 100%'d it on my NA-account, I slept so, so much. I decided to play DkS PS4 afterwards but just as I bought it, I got invited to a Bloodborne LAN-party and I couldn't resist that shit. Now I'm back to not having slept in so long again... but I just got back from the LAN so I can finally sleep now... school tomorrow.. FUCK

Lol i got *lucky* because Henryk instantly focused on me and i was fighting for my life. She was doing damage from behind him so there was no risk in hitting her. At the beginning i also thought, what would happen if i hit her accidently.

I keep doing Lower Hintertomb depth 3 variations over and over to try to get Ritual Blood (4). I get maybe one in an entire run if that. Is there something better I should be doing?

Yeah I think I've got it. Just that I had another Chalice in my inventory I assume from completing the main game, and was wondering if that was the second Dungeon or something. Nevermind.

yea, it's obtuse. I gave up and just checked out a Chalice guide on YT. I dunno why it was so hard for them to teach us this since it's not part of the main game.

I love how when you finish him he
turns into a sniveling cowardly mess
.

The biggest confusion was that I just thought they were randomly generated every time. I thought it was just another mode that threw you into a dungeon, none of this Chalice stuff. Oh well, still fun to play.

Npcs in Dark Souls 2 sucked ass.

Worst is the girl, that obviously is the daughter of the black smith but after she moved in front of his shop nothing happens for the rest of the game.

I disagree with the build variety, just because the game doesn't start you with
an arcane spell
right away doesn't mean the game has no build variety, the variety just comes much later than the previous games.

I agree with you on NPCs though, what few NPCs the game has are great, there just aren't that many of them, I really wanted to populate
Hunter's Dream
like how it was with the Nexus. In Demon's Souls you could interact with the NPCs a lot because they were in the Nexus & you could speak to them after every boss to see what they're up to, I think the lore in this game is much deeper & more interesting than the Souls games, which makes the game not having more friendly NPCs an even bigger disappointment.

EDIT:

I wouldn't put it that way though, in terms of "friendly NPCs" sure, but
Iosefka
for example had a better & deeper arc than any Souls game before, she's just not considered a "friendly NPC", which is where I thought the game was lacking.

They're not available in my game. Just unlocked the 4th warp tombstone in the Hunters Dream as well.

? there is a side door in the house in hunters dream. There is a pool with messengers (appear only with 10+ insight). There you can buy them.

actually, I really loved Lucatiel. I liked her story and her VO was fantastic. sadly, we don't get anyone like her in BB.

So between connection errors and joining up with a friend in chalice dungeons, I'm down to 2 insight (I haven't used any inventory insight items though). Story wise, I'm done with BSB and Vicar Amelia.

Am I hurting my gameplay by having such low insight? Is it easy to acquire (I've been helping others kill BSB but I have so little gaming time doing a help run often takes up most of my session, especially if I need to show them all the secrets / kill hunters, etc)

I have a New Game Plus question:
Does your Chalices & Chalice Dungeons carry over or do I have to fight the Blood-starved Beast to unlock them again? I'm at the endgame & just want to finish the story.

As a follow up question, do enemies in Chalice Dungeons change in the same way as enemies in the regular would in New Game Plus as well?

He attacked me on sight the first time I went there, I never even saw Eileen. After he wrecked me and I went back and they were engaged in a fight. I targeted him and managed to kill him without aggro'ing Eileen at all
