Bloodborne |OT+++| ...and so the Nightly Hunt continues

Actually Destiny went 17 days from the first OT creation to the last post in OT3.

Bloodborne is well into OT4 and we are only 14 days removed from Bish creating the OT.

It does indeed appear we have a new record holder. The hype is real

Don't forget the two fake OTs as well.

The
Chalice Dungeon Bell Maidens (and by extension, spiders)
is easily the worst game design decision I've seen yet. It's seriously destroying my experience and anything I thought highly of in this game.

I don't mind one, but 2 (and even 3) in close proximity is fucking bullshit.

So for those of youse who've finished the game how many bosses did you end up killing the first time, I only died against
Blood-starved Beast, One Reborn and Gerhman.
and I wouldn't exactly consider myself some seasoned vet at the souls games.

If your attributes soft cap at 25 is there any reason to boost one beyond 25 vs assigning it elsewhere?

i thought it was 50? you'll still see gains after 25.
Cool, I'm going to give it a go then. Start off as bag of skin, then you can pump more into bloodtinge?
yeah, bag of skin lol. but it's going to be rough early on b/c the most viable gun with the build isn't available until later and it's an optional area. you're going to want have to use other weapons in the meantime. also, don't forget to use bone marrow ash along with your guns; they effectively double your damage output.

Depending on the weapons you use, the more you upgrade them, the better their scaling becomes, which in turn means they may scale more to post 25 stats.

A thought: Do you think it's is possible to do a purely gun build, focusing completely on bloodtinge?

Just shooting, no attacking with your trick weapon? You'd need to have all the runes that give you extra bullet carrying capacity, a ton of vitality for blood bullets, enough strength to wield the cannon. I still doubt it would work. Some enemies have such high health, and even though the cannon can take off like 30% of a boss's health, you might run out of bullets/vials.

Can anyone give me some tips against the very large S
nakes in the Forbidden Forest - their venom is rather annoying and up close they're bastards.

I can't imagine it will gain as many overall OP's as Destiny though. Longevity wise it just doesn't seem as if people will be playing it for as long.

Souls games have a lot of longevity, people usually play those games for over 500 hours. Especially with the Chalice Dungeons, people still haven't figured out everything those Dungeons offer.

Popular advice for Forbidden Woods is just RUN! lol

But for real, try to move so you are always on their side. And dodge. Everything.

From the wiki: "Caution: when he buffs himself bullets no longer stun and melee attacks will no longer interrupt his. However if you backstab him while he is charging his buff the bullets will still work as will melee attacks to interrupt his attacks, making the second half of the fight significantly easier. He will however still have the new moveset."

Then the wiki is wrong.
Imost certainly did counter his second form attacks, it was even easier than for his first form.
Maybe what this section is meant to say is that it doesn't interupt him when he is in a combo, which is possible; however you can counter him before he unleashes his combo.
Really his second form is not that bad; it's his first form that's dangerous.

Ahh okay. I was just wondering if it's a waste to take STR from 25-30 vs tossing some points in Arcane taking it, for example, 10-15.

There's other church-like gear you can buy that will get her to talk.

F
ather
G
ascoine's
Set (purchase from Insight shop)
Executioner's Set
Tomb Prospector Set

You just need to wear one piece to get her to be friendly.

Thanks so much for that! I must have overlooked your response earlier. I will definitely do that! Thanks so much!

no. the stats are hardcapped at 99. you'll see diminishing returns at 25+ but it isn't a huge drop off. you'll still get 1-3 points per level depending on weapon scaling.

Yup. People have been using the terms "hard/soft cap" to refer to different stages of diminishing return rates. From 25 to 30Skill, I only gained 1 point of attack per level, but from 30 to 38 I was getting 2-3 per level. And thus was with a Threaded Cane that I've been upgrading pretty steadily; I gave it maxed out now.

I never knew so many people had trouble with BSB, to me he was BY FAR the easiest boss in the game.
Really depends on your playstyle, I think. I never died to VA and the internet tells me she's one of the hardest bosses in the game. BSB initially gave me issues but I've started fighting him sans armor and without vials just to show off. Other bosses that people have said were easy, though? Like
that Nightmare Host?
Kicked my butt.

Just now easing into the game. Getting comfortable with my types of attacks and dodging. Can reliably get to the wolves on the bridge in the first area now, but I've been way too reluctant to use my gun. I simply underestimated its effectiveness at stopping attacks while they occur. Also just learned about the hold R2 + R1 power move, so I should be to that first boss in no time.

Also, fuck those crow things.

As soon as I see one of those red asshole spiders, I charge into the room and murder the bell maiden.

All of their adds die when they die.

Oh, I'm doing this, but the gank squad shaving off half of your health in a lunge swarming you in droves (there's two maidens right now) isn't doing me much favors.

Time to whip out the trusty cannon.

You just have to hold R2 for the charge attack. Holding R1 isn't necessary. :)

Edit- also, use your gun! You can fire while an enemy is in mid-swing, and stagger it. Press R1 while you're standing directly in front of it and you'll do a visceral attack, which does a ton of damage.

just wanna say that the
One Reborn
fight was so disappointingly easy. but thats maybe because i already fought
the martyr in the castle already aka the best fight in the game so far

how do you farm insight? there really isn't any reason to do so unless you want stuff from the insight store and/or are ringing your bell constantly.

Helping other players kill bosses, and witch is an easy one.

a long range weapon like cane or saw will outreach their attacks. Don't stand so far away as to trigger their spit attack

Yeah, it depends on your playstyle,
Rom & The Nurse
were pushovers for me, but I had trouble with
Father G & VA my first time
.

Are you being serious? Shit gets even crazier with 99 insight? If so... I will be camping out at a boss helping people...
Less echoes and more varied attacks on some enemies. But I don't notice too much of a difference. My character is pretty solid, +9 cane and level 60+.

I've used a new strategy which is to keep circling them after they go for an attack... Otherwise use your environment and attack through trees and rocks

I just defeated R
om, the Vacuous spider
. It was extremely easy as was the area. I'm using the Saw Spear at the moment after retiring the Threaded Cane to my secondary weapon. Are there any weapons I've missed as I've yet to find one?
Haven't gone through the Unseen Village yet

Anyone? Really yearning for a new weapon. I feel like I've properly scoured all the areas I've been in so far but it's fairly likely I've missed a super secret area...

Question? I have the tonsil item and was full health, and when the witch thing grabbed me by VA I still went to
nightmare frontier? I thought I was suppose to go to cainhurst castle?

Eeeeh. A good number of enemies have additional moves that absolutely will catch you off guard if you're rising in insight for the first time.
only noticed some changes in cathedral ward anyways and nothing did catch me of guard.
idk.

of course, you maybe get less, but still enough.

I am at the
witches
and curious if there was any reason for me to stay here and farm insight ?

i don't know if i understand you right.
there is never a reasons to farm anything.
did you beat the witches yet?

Ya.. Was just wondering if some good stuff came to the
insight
shop later on or soon after them

No. Overall so far people haven't found much use for insight. Really hoping there's more to it, can't wait for the guide

...Yeah... okay not going for 99 insights... nope Frenzy can just go and jump a cliff...

I ran 99 insight. Just have frenzy resistance and you're good.

My opinion on the first 6 Bloodborne bosses:

1) First 2 bosses were fairly easy but both very enjoyable. (first try each)
2) BSB kicked my butt hard, only boss I couldn't solo. (10ish tries)
3) Amelia took a good 3 chances and was not too bad. Used fire paper not knowing how awesome it helped.
4) Witch was the easiest boss on the planet. (2 tries, got sandwiched 1st attempt)
5) 3x Hunters @ Forbidden Woods weren't too bad. Learned after the 1st attempt to kill Haduken guy first. (2 attempts)
6) ROM kicked my butt hardcore (probably 12 attempts)

BSB and Rom gave me the most trouble easily. Other than BSB and the Witch, great bosses. I'd love to try BSB again.

I feel like I missed someone.

Nope, he's just kinda lame. But yes, fighting
Martyr Logarius
before him probably didn't help too much. That fight was cool.
