At 99 you nearly get insta-frenzied. So there's definitely a big difference.
I always got sedatives on hand and have enough vitality to take a full crunch. It's either two potion cost or use one of the limited sedatives.

EDIT:
Also just read you can use the invincibility frames on a roll to cancel the frenzy hit. Have to try that.

Anyone? Really yearning for a new weapon. I feel like I've properly scoured all the areas I've been in so far but it's fairly likely I've missed a super secret area...

If you've beaten some optional bosses, you should have gotten badges to unlock weapons at the merchant. There's a Rifle Spear in
Old Yharnam, inside a house
. And if you
were caught by an enemy and sent to jail
, there's another weapon in that area...

I'm a sucker for Sackboy keyrings, it was just brought to my attention that there's a Bloodborne one. Opened wallet so fast.

just wanna say that the
One Reborn
fight was so disappointingly easy. but thats maybe because i already fought
the martyr in the castle already aka the best fight in the game so far

The hardest part was actually getting to him,
and eliminating the casters. I think I died about twice to him, because that acid on the floor. Its another one of those bosses I kept telling myself to not lock on to.

My opinion on the first 6 Bloodborne bosses:

1) First 2 bosses were fairly easy but both very enjoyable. (first try each)
2) BSB kicked my butt hard, only boss I couldn't solo. (10ish tries)
3) Amelia took a good 3 chances and was not too bad. Used fire paper not knowing how awesome it helped.
4) Witch was the easiest boss on the planet. (2 tries, got sandwiched 1st attempt)
5) 3x Hunters @ Forbidden Woods weren't too bad. Learned after the 1st attempt to kill Haduken guy first. (2 attempts)
6) ROM kicked my butt hardcore (probably 12 attempts)

BSB and Rom gave me the most trouble easily. Other than BSB and the Witch, great bosses. I'd love to try BSB again.

I feel like I missed someone.

Depends if you got snatched in the bag or not

Question? I have the tonsil item and was full health, and when the witch thing grabbed me by VA I still went to
nightmare frontier
? I thought I was suppose to go to
cainhurst castle
?

That's what is supposed to happen. Going to
[Cainhurst
requires a different item.

And I spoilered your post for you :)

Can anyone give me some tips against the very large S
nakes in the Forbidden Forest - their venom is rather annoying and up close they're bastards.

Just go near a tree, so you are one side of it and the snake the other , this way thier split venom will never hurt you, when it atracks steep back and return to the tree , just go around the tail/ back of the snake and hit it , since it is slow will take time to face you and hit you , repeat the process until you kill it

Holy shit, really?

Those fucking brains in Nightmare of Mensis near where you get the Blood Rock were ruining my LIFE last night.
This explains everything. I couldn't figure out why I was getting frenzied like IMMEDIATELY. (My insight was north of 50 lol)

Man I don't know how to fight R
om
. These
spiders
look so fucking terrifying, fuck this shit :(

The spiders are pretty dumb. They always keep their back to Rom, so you can get behind them and clear them out pretty easy. Don't use lock-on, because you need to keep an eye on Rom at all times. The hardest part is learning how to avoid the ice attack. I had the most success with running in a circle, since the attack seems to target in front of you, or ahead of you.

first 2 almost made me quit the game.

rom and bsb went down on the first try. :D

What do I need to go there? I had read it was the tonsil item.

You need the
Cainhurst Summons
. You can obtain it by finding a cave in
Forbidden Woods
. Go through the cave and you'll find a ladder leading to a familiar place. The item you seek is around there. I don't want to spoil anything, so this is the only hint I'll give you.

I might've been overleveled, but
BSB in Hintertomb
was a joke. Casually tore him apart without sustaining any damage except for some poisoning. He didn't hit me at all, and I played very lazy. It seems like just walking to the side also dodges him or he is just very blind.

augh, hate tips like this.

Happens so often too. " how do I beat such and such "

* enter cheap cheese tactic of some kind *

The way I killed them, just time your forward / side dashes with their spit. You will advance on their position in between each spit. When close enough I ran and jumped behind them, landing with my hammer.

I used a Kirkhammer the whole time which stunned them out of their current strike. So really you could just sprint all the way to them, dodging their spit and then do the L2 baseball swing when you reach em, and then land a few blows to take em out completely.

With a stabbing weapon that wouldn't stun them out of an attack, best thing to do is simply strike a few times and then back out. Wait for them to spit or finish their attack and then move back in. Attacking out of dashes and such is useful

It might be a good idea to put on
Ashen Hunter
attire & use a frenzy resistance rune as well, they help A LOT, but if they still give you trouble, get your insight below 15.

Doesn't matter how hard i find this, i always find that i simply want to keep playing. I lose 15k little blighters, np....For me i can get them back. The achievement is the bosses. I don't mind admitting going forward i'll always ask for help rather than go solo becuase thats the beauty of this game...I can do it however i want 8). I don't find going back and forth all the time a chore like i did with previous souls games. In this it feels.....like i supposed to in an odd way, hard to describe exactly. Anyway, onward and upwards tomorrow when i hope i can (with the help of Anon) take down BSB.

Eeeeh. A good number of enemies have additional moves that absolutely will catch you off guard if you're rising in insight for the first time.

I'm at like 53 or 54 Insight. I did not know this.

I think it's time to buy the 3 armor sets I've been holding off on! lol

This! I am not sure FROM specifically made his aim horrible because of the skin flaps getting in his LOS, but yeah, staying on his sides makes the entire fight fairly easy.

I've been putting up boss vids, maybe this will help. Ice def is a pain in the ass. After about 12 tries, this was the hardest boss for me so far. The most important thing to remember, hit once or twice and run. I kep twanting to hit, so it was my fault. Maybe this vid will help you out.

So I've been meaning to ask. Does more insight make things more or less difficult, and are there advantages to high insight? I'm sitting at around 90 insight right now.

The enemies get new moves.
Your frenzy resistance gets lower.
Some higher end enemies spawn in areas they otherwise wouldn't.

But with high insight, you get to see new stuff
like the invisible amygdala
around yharnam, people still haven't figured out what else is hidden except for new dialog.

I'm such an idiot not knowing you could kill the casters. The fight was already easy enough, killing the casters would of made it so much more

I didn't kill them my first time, that's why I had to redo the fight. Much easier when you do. :)

OHH, didnt realize seeing those were linked to insight. I have like 49 insight I think, maybe a little higher. Decided to pop back to Cathedral Ward and one was perched up top looking down. Also they are all over Yahar'gul village. Wasn't sure if that was design or from the insight.

Can't decide which skill weapon to take past +6 on my second playthrough. The saw spear rips up bosses, the cane is easy on the stamina and the whip keeps enemies dancing, while the rifle spear fits nicely with my skill&bloodtinge build. It also seems like a shame the starting hunters pistol is so good that I don't feel like switching it out.

lol. BLOODBORNE.

I'm surprised so many people had issues with R
om
. Both times I've faced him with two different characters, he was probably the easiest boss outside of the W
itches
and maybe M
artry Longarious
. The first time I just
straffed him and killed off the spiders one by one until they were cleared, then went in to attack him. With the spiders out of the way, he doesn't do much, and constantly straffing avoids the comets. It was time consuming but easy.
. The second time I just
straffed him until I found a spot with fewer spiders, rushed in, got a few swings at his body, then rolled out. Didn't even kill any spiders and the battle went much quicker
.

That said, I had a tough time on T
he
O
ne
R
eborn
and VA. Even CB gave me a tough time the second time I played it with a new character for some reason.

Yeah, you missed
shadow of yharnam
.

Oh, I'm doing this, but the gank squad shaving off half of your health in a lunge swarming you in droves (there's two maidens right now) isn't doing me much favors.

Time to whip out the trusty cannon.

haha are you at the area with the the two werewolves as well?

My first time through, I thought "ok, got her!" only to be mauled by the second maiden's spiders.

Did the entire (optional stuff aside)
Forbidden Woods
in one sitting today. It was a very confusing run. Boss was easy and went down in one go, but I did summon an ally.

I did not see the cave people are talking about though.. so I'm gonna head back later.

I hate how fucked this game servers still are.

We're trying for quite a time and we just can't connect with each other. In the mean time, it seems a gaffer joined me twice. And at least once it did not said was an invasion, but was! =/

Their servers have always been complete dogshit and that hasn't changed with BB. As for the invasion thing could of been due to summoning an opposing covenant player, that's a thing now.

I ordered official guide, should i really need it? I want to experience everything in BB :)

finished
HEMWICK LANE
today finally :)

Did you kill R
om
yet? If you did
their veil is removed & you can see them anyway even with low insight
, high insight allows you to see them even when they're
invisible
.

Well summoning an ally makes the fight fairly trivial...

I helped a bunch of people out with that one after I did it on my own. I think I only failed because the host would get over aggressive and die.

I honestly didn't know anything about how a high insight changes the game. I've been running around at 99 since I was near or around the end of NG and never noticed anything really different.
