Ok, fuck the hunters in general but the one in
grand cathedral after beating rom
is literally a joke. I can die in almost one gun shot. Every slash takes almost 80% health. And to top it off, I saw the motherfucker use a vial at 50% to heal almost completely. No hits stagger so I can't combo anything. All I've been able to do is chip away one hit at a time only to inevitably die to an instant gunshot to the face

Any tips at all? I'm trying it out cuz I read here that the weapon you get is awesome but goddamn man

Drop him off the roof, worked for me :P

I'm kind of at an impasse with my build.

lvl 69
vit 23
end 23
str 18
skill 14
bt 32
arc 9

bloodtinge isn't turning out to be all that it's cracked up to be, with the katana seeming a bit underwhelming. decent gun damage with my evelyn +8 can come in handy against certain enemies, but, really, it's a very niche thing.

should I raise skill and go all in for the katana, or should I raise str to 30 for the cannon and just go holy blade or whatever?

Not that I know of. I've been posting here when I've created a dungeon that gives some good loot, but I don't know if people are taking me up on the offer. I've seen some bloodstains and some notes in the chalice dungeons I've made and made public so I know that some people are working their way through it.

As far as I can tell right now through reading through all the different sources is that if you create a dungeon and make it public, that code will be active as long as there's at least one person keeping it alive. That means that the original creator can remove their chalice and as long as someone else is keeping it alive in their world, then the code still works. It's when all people remove that dungeon when that seed code goes back in the pile to be used again with a different randomly generated dungeon.

So then if I just randomly need help with a boss I'm SOL unless someone I know is on the same chalice and at the same area?

For me, I didn't find any really good skill weapons (wasn't a fan of the cane's moveset) till late game where I got the
Blade of Mercy and the Rapier which both scale amazingly with skill.
So if you're late in the game (as it looks like by you're level), I'd go with skill, but since your str is already 18 you could always go with str.

So, I put my headphones on as i'm about to go to bed... you know how you hear the thumping of your own steps when you have cans on? Right now I'm thinking all I need to do is moan "ohhOHHoh" as I walk.

Game's in my fucking head

Lure him to the entrance door he cant barely move there

Lecture Building classroom, theatre key door, murder students
Or professors ;)

Does anyone else located in the USA have issues joining other players from around the world? I only been able to connect to 1 gaffer using the password, public people without password and my friend who lives 5 mins from me using a password.

Dark Souls 2 reminded me that it's OK to summon, don't let people shame you into a frustrating experience. If you wanna bang your head against a boss until he's dead that's fine and most would say the "real" way to play these games, but if not, just coop and be done with it, that's fine too. Get your fun back. These games are not just the bosses, and that's coming from someone that soloed every BB boss (even if now I know many were bugged) and is now summoning a lot in DS2 because you know what, I just wasn't having much fun and now I and again. /shrug

Although to be fair to BB, for whatever reason there seems to be less "summon shaming" in it compared to what I saw in DS1 / 2

Because DS2's bosses were garbage. Their hit-boxes were utterly ridiculous and their fights were more frustrating than fun

Ancient Dragon fucking hell

I'm going to try this, this hunter is the bane of my existence. I've beaten
logarius, the one reborn and Ebertieas
with only a handful of tries, this damn hunter though it's just a brick wall.

If you manage to push him in the door is game over for him or stuck him in the stair statues

Do I have to use the
umbilical chords in the hunter's dream
through the actual menu or is it automatically a 'when the time comes it'll work on its own' kind of an item?

A lot of the bosses (outside the chalice dungeon) in this game feel a lot more designed to be managable in a 1v1 fight (with maybe the exception of E
briates
) when in comparison to DS2 where the tough bosses weren't even fun to fight and half the time had broken hitboxes.

The feeling of barely scraping by a fight in this game is amazing in comparison to DS2 where I just felt happy I got that annoying part over with.

oooh I LOVED that Cathedral hunter fight!

as with every hunter duel, you can just chain-knock him into oblivion!

use the Numbing Mist to stop him from using vials ;)

This game man, first a guy with a gatling gun, then an alien thing that eats your insight and now fucking cthulhu with freaking laser beam attached to his head..

What does this mean

Currently trying the doorway lure. I swear controller almost got tossed once I saw the heal

The hunter boss in the Cathedral is definitely one of my favorite fights in the game.
Though my fight was against Eileen instead of whoever you guys are fighting.

Pretty much! Man, don't get me started on DS2 I don't wanna derail this OT

regarding E
briates
, his fight is actually pretty similar to A
mygdala
, where you can just wait for her to smack the ground to get some free hits on her blobby head.

and yeah unlike DS2, you can get away with sticking tight to EVERY boss without worrying about a sweeping ONE SHOT attack! Everything can be avoided, and doesn't feel cheap.

:lol oh sorry, what weapon are you using? The Axe's charged R2s can knock him down, and you can pretty much just do that until he dies.

IIRC, he won't use a vial if you're really close to him.

lol tell me about it. I've derailed many threads on my DS2 rants. And yeah, I actually took that boss on just like A
mygdala
by sticking close to it and just dodging the swings and taking swipes at its weak spots. A lot of these bosses get stunned from enough hits to the rest of their body. In fact I found that staying back from the bosses was even more dangerous and resulted me in getting one/two shotted much more. It felt so good to have an aggressive mindset against the bosses and feel like it paid off. Obviously sticking close doesn't work on every single boss, but its a good strategy for the big ones at least.

So more Insight means they are tougher? What is the amount I need to see all things?

I think variables of 15. Not 100% sure.

oh shit I have 99!

enemies don't seem that hard though....

I know certain things change and new enemies spawn. Hell, some bosses even have different patterns depending on insight. I think the first boss inside (late game spoilers)
Nightmare of Manis can teleport through mirrors while running away from you if your insight is high enough.

Interesting - I had 99 insight when fighting him and he did none of that.

^you can see a few of their weapons glowing red (including bosses)

that's probably my favourite (new) part of the game, I like how they've designed everything around being aggressive.

Vicar Amelia is a bit of a pain. I just don't get the bosses in this game. There is no pattern to them. No way to do damage safely. It just feels random. She has way too much health and fucking heals as well. This is so boring.

Decided to farm out some better runes in the dungeon before i go NG+

Of course there's a pattern. i threw the mist when i got her to half health every once in a while to stop the heals and got visceral attacks off on her and she went down pretty quickly. She is a tanky boss though.

Interesting :) I think I might stick with my insights then

Believe me she is nothing compared to these hunters man. The trick for those big guys to me is to actually be really aggressive in your positioning. Dart around them really close and Attack from close to the rear. Dashing backwards seems like a good idea but it really isn't.

I think there is some trick weakness to her but I didn't need it for my fight

Guys,

Im stuck and I need some help, Ive defeated Sha
dow
of Yh
arnam

I'm now in just in front of
