Vicar Amelia is a bit of a pain. I just don't get the bosses in this game. There is no pattern to them. No way to do damage safely. It just feels random. She has way too much health and fucking heals as well. This is so boring.

Toss a numbing mist at her to stop the healing. Also, that's probably one of my least favorite bosses in the game, aside from the witches. I found that when I always stuck close to her she wouldn't jump back to heal (in fact in the fight I won against her, she didn't heal once). Being aggressive against that boss is the way to go, but she'll really test how well you can dodge her swings.

Interesting - I had 99 insight when fighting him and he did none of that.

Yeah, he didn't do it the first time I fought him, but when I did some side stuff/bosses and came back he was doing that. It was really odd.

Interesting :) I think I might stick with my insights then

Its pretty interesting to see what changes. I always kept it around the 20s just to see how things are different.

Guys,

Im stuck and I need some help, Ive defeated Sha
dow
of Yh
arnam

I'm now in just in front of
Rom
but I dont want to fight him yet. The only problem is I dont know where to go next. I hear people saying there are bosses near the church but I cant find them nor can I find the Unseen
Village
or
Nightmare....

Any tips?
edit: Ah misread your post, sorry!

If you haven't been to the
unseen village yet,
go to the Cathedral ward lamp and go straight. Around the corner should be a
tall guy with a bag. Let him kill you.

Also, that is technically the next story boss, so you're gonna have to fight him eventually. Just stay at his side and keep swinging at him. I didn't even bother with the spiders, though you can if you want to play it safe.

Just to show you how wrong you are:

- People beat her without ever getting hit, so it can't be that random. You just have to learn her patterns/how to dodge stuff.
- You can stop her from healing herself with
certain items you found before (numbing mist).
- She actually goes down pretty fast if you use
fire paper
. You should have a couple of those at that point. She also has a weak spot - her
left arm where she holds the gold pendant
. She gets staggered if you hit that repeatedly and you can follow up with a visceral attack to her head for massive damage.

From the
Grand Cathedral bonfire go out and left. Follow that path until you get to a locked door and let the invisible enemy grab you and kill you. This will take you to a new area that let's you access Nightmare Frontier eventually. Unseen Village can be accessed by being killed by a bagman just outside of Cathedral Ward. The rest of Unseen Village is accessed after defeating Rom. Make sure you've wrapped up any NPC quests before beating Rom.

Unseen Village
can be accessed by deliberately killed by those sack wielding enemies. The easiest one to find can be found standing behind the coach at the northern door as you spawn at the Cathedral Lamp.

Go right on the Grand Cathedral and you can find the path that eventually lead to areas that house the Church where you will be granted access towards the
Lecture Hall
which in turn will get you access towards the
Nightmare Frontier
. You need a Tonsil Stone for it; try chatting up NPCs behind windows on Central Yharnam.

Well, you can escape the boss arena with a Bold Hunter's Mark.

For ideas on what to do before fighting the boss, check out the area in the Forbidden Woods with the dog cages. It leads to an underground cavern full of poison; you might find some interesting stuff there, especially
the ladder to a part of Central Yharnam you couldn't reach before.

Great, another
Abhorrent Beast
right after beating one in the previous dungeon. Generic the Boss is rendering this session an utter snoozefest, moreso than it already is.

Might just be the worst boss in the whole game actually.

What an amazing video game.

Thought I wouldn't need to use a numbing mist on V
icar
A
melia
on ng+. If only I had it my quick menu. Had to hit one more time then she triple healed to half her health :(

First time playing a Souls game, yesterday I just beat the
Hunter
in the cemetary. This must be one of the best videogames I played in two decades. Actually takes me back to 8 and 16bit games when japanese games were challenging and inventive. Fucking masterpiece T.T

God damn is the theme that plays in the Upper Cathedrial creepy as hell.

I mean, it was masterfully done, but god damn, it was playing its tricks on me!

You're still so early in! But yeah, that fight was awesome. Its only uphill from here so I'm glad to see you already love it.

That area fucked with me so hard. So damn creepy.

I found that Canon in the
Forbidden Woods
but checked my inventory later and it was gone =/

Swear I grabbed it too. Anyway, was able to buy another from fountain guys. Don't feel too bad since I've lost more souls after dying twice in a row. :P

Morning all. So, I wonder what delights my scraps with BSB will be today! Slowly though I'm beginning to wane....I'm lol 32 aswell......I might just farm for a spell get another 4 or 5 levels up. I'm in desperate need on Vials and probably more antidotes.....The game is brilliant, no question, just my own skills are currently not upto it, though I do find my general play, outside of bosses to be strong.....Just when a boss enters the fray.....it goes to pot.

Er, so if you have to beat bsb for the bag men to appear and take you to hypo g. How is it possible to enter old y without aggroing Djura if you can't get to hypo g without first going into old yharnam and beating bsb? Confused. I thought they appeared after VA.

Robot Pants:

It's too late now, far too late, but what would have you thought of

I Cane, I Saw, I Axecuted

(my electricty got turned back on.)

You can always save yourself frustrations and summon a partner for co-op. That is of course, unless you prefer to take things on solo.

I've soloed a great number of bosses, but a few I've took on with my brother. Co-op is awesome, turns the frustration into fun.

Am I suppose to save iosefkas blood vile or blood of Arrianna for anything?

You can use them freely and keep replenishing them, though I'd recommend only during boss fights

Bit of warning
If you don't want Arianna to die don't take her blood over Adella's during the Rom boss fight. She'll get jealous and murder her

Reading online, apparently both beating BSB and beating VA will make the bag men appear. So beat VA to get to hypo g.

Meant to say, that's with trying coop aswell 8)

Well, just keep at it. A little bit of luck on who you get paired up with, unless you can find some other gaffers around your current level.

Don't forget you can summon two helpers, keep your distance, attack, roll away and heal with blood vials. You'll be fine with some trial and error, no doubt. ;o

If you defeated W
itch of Hemwick
and D
arkbeast Paarl
, then you probably have to face
Rom
now to unlock the next set of optional areas. You can go to
Canehart Castle
if you haven't yet, but that area require higher level than what you'd need to fight
Rom
.

You can't avoid the part where he shoots the gun at you, but if you keep going and beat BSB and get captured you enter the back after Paarl and he won't be aggro.

It...doesn't really make much sense to me that it works like this, but whatever.

HOLY FUCK

What kind of Bloodtinge one must get to achieve that kind of damage with the Cannon??
It has really high base damage and pretty weak bloodtinge scaling. Bone Marrow Ash is the main thing increasing its damage, I'm guessing. It's probably also either +9 or +10. The video description even says his bloodtinge is not that high.

Agreed. Confirmed.
ROM
is the absloute most frustrating and worst boss int he entire souls blood/series.

The missiles are just icing with what else you have to work around. Just keep at it, just helped another hunter slay it.

Although, the setting for the fight is freaking beautiful.

As soon as he teleports sprint to where he is before he even has a chance to launch the ice missles. He won't use them if he's close enough. Then just wait till he stops squirming around for his AoE then wail on him and repeat. I didn't bother fighting the spiders because of how many there were, though you might want to just to play it safe.

Ugh just reading the wiki, I seemed to have missed a ton of extra stuff and locked myself out of the
true ending
.

Didn't even concern myself with that on my first playthrough. Just gives me more incentive to go through it a second time and pick up on everything I missed.

Are you sure? I thought I'd locked myself out last night too, but found out I could grab an extra of the items you needed for the true ending by finding
the clinic shortcut and killing Iosefka

Didn't know you can summon a 3rd?!

Oh! I tried talking to him after beating bsb and using that lamp to sneak up on him and he was hostile. That's just bizarre. Thanks for the clarification. Good thing I asked before I went any further in ng++.

I'll give that a shot.

Pretty bummed that I somehow managed to completely bypass Eileen and Arianna's quest lines though. Will definitely make those a priority in NG+
