Bloodborne |OT+++| ...and so the Nightly Hunt continues

I don't get the hype around it. Was forced to play the whole game with it for my Arcane build character and I just didn't enjoyed the weapon. Moveset is too meh even if the damage is alright.

Kirkhammer is the better version of the light/big trick weapon.

It's the easiest weapon to use, & it does a lot of damage if you're level 25/25 STR/SKL or higher, especially with higher end blood gems. It's also the best arcane weapon if you have the proper blood gems.

If you run back to the lamp only one of them follow you in and can be disposed of solo. Then you can go back and fetch another one :)

It really helps if you went to Hypo
gean goal
beforehand through
one of those bag-enemies
and unlocked the shortcut door to the left of the lamp. I just circumvented them 'till a summon partner decided to take them on lol.

Jesus christ it was a grind to go through, but ive managed to kill each one of them. Pheww

As soon as he teleports sprint to where he is before he even has a chance to launch the ice missles. He won't use them if he's close enough. Then just wait till he stops squirming around for his AoE then wail on him and repeat. I didn't bother fighting the spiders because of how many there were, though you might want to just to play it safe.

Is this (bold) consistent? I was given access after beating CB and having around 5 insight (I think), but then found access is revoked and randomly reinstated. I've never been above 7 insight.

It closes as soon as you fall below 10 insight, but you need to close the menu first in order for it to close if you spent insight & made it fall below 10.

About the boss we were talking about, I do fairly well throughout but she always cheapshots me with her arcane lasers. Rolling like a madman doesn't really seem to help. Any tips on how to best dodge that one?

I actually don't think I can help too much with that.

For some reason, and I'm positive this isn't related to the memory leak bug, is that both times I've fought her, I've one shotted her because I stayed up against her and she pretty much only did the face slam. It's super easy to avoid and to heavily punish.

I've yet to have to deal with her laser barrage. Although having seen it, my guess would be to just start sprinting. Once you see the start up "summon" for it, unlock-on (though I would suggest just not using lock-on for her) and just start sprinting.

Eh. Easiest to use because of? If it's moveset, I disagree, as I've said. The big sword is too clunky and short, would rather take the Kirkhammer over it (and I say this having a 40 STR Kirkhammer character + blood gems).

And I've done the arcane weapon and I am just sad that it *is* the only really good arcane weapon. Not just scaling but also how shitty the arcane scaling functions. Would prefer to use the Burial Blade but you can't convert the damage with the gems (and neither can you any of the cool gun hybrid weapons even though I would like to try them for arcane as well).

OK so I started the game yesterday. Killed the first two bosses (FG fight was so fuckin' tense, simply amazing) bought the emblem that opens the gate near the
cathedral ward - after the huge axe wielding
guy (the sound effects are terrifying) and proceeded to the next area which I assume is the next boss fight. Tried to explore before trying the next boss and I met two very "interesting" enemies (
defiled hunters
I presume?), I killed the first one on my first try but the second guy with the
blunderbuss
? just wow...at times it feels like I'm playing against a human player, at some point he/she even took cover in the well that's in the center of the area to avoid my gunfire. :O

Cool, I'll try the stay up close to her technique next time then. Could very well be that the lasers only trigger when you get too far away.

You missed an optional boss.

From the cathedral ward lamp, go to the left, & instead of going up the stairs where you currently are, go to the left & down below & proceed
.

You can do it later, but it's better do it now or you'll be overleveled.

Thanks for the info, I'll check it out. :)

Just slayed my sixth boss
Shadow of Yarnam
, as with the previous one I only needed one try (allthough it got really close one time. Was just able to pop a hlood vial in time). I'm pretty sure I'm quite overpowered atm, as I haven't lost all that much echoes up to this point (for one way or another, I'm always able to retrieve them without a hitch), so I could invest most of them in my character. I'm level 56 now.

Right now I have two +19% and one +12% ATT UP runes on my Ludwig's blade. The damage output of this thing is getting impressive. If I +10 it and keep leveling SKL to about 30, I'll be about ready for the chalice dungeons I'd say. I just beat
Micholas Cage
so I'm getting really close to the end.

So guys...I err....am kinda bad at this.

I've never really played the Souls' games before (apart from trying the first one for about 5 mins before going to bed).

So this is what happens when you get a psychopath/noob like me who thinks its a good idea to take a shortcut in the game by skipping the massive wolves on the bridge early on:

Hardest boss for me till now (almost at the end of BB, not counting chalice). Helped around 4 people beat him, died around 6 times helping someone. Even caved and tried to summon someone (i want to beat all bosses alone) but everybody seems to summon for help :) and it didn't work. Watched some videos of ppl beat him but he wasn't as aggressive in the videos compared to when i played him.

My gf came into the living room after long BB session and said: you still trying to beat him? haha, you are not going to make it". That's when i beat him and made a dance in the living room.

Only boss that when I finally did him I went straight back to help somebody else... his attack pattern is all over the place. Great cut scene after though and one of the best areas, not sure why it is so hidden.

Jesus fuck the summoning system in this game is complete and total ass. I've had one successful summon. Half the time it just pings for awhile and the disconnects me from the server, wasting my insight.

In the future please don't fix what isn't fucking broken, FROM.

Dont start the game from a suspend/resume.

It will disconnect you from Matchmaking

Where did you get 19% gems if you didn't do Chalice Dungeons yet? I've done a bunch of those and I still don't have any straight 19% ATK ones, just 18.

I'm on what I'm pretty sure is the last boss and just getting wrecked. I didn't want to summon for it but wanted to figure it out so I rang my small bell and saw that
he has a second form.

Maaaan.

I had one from a random drop I think and another was in a hidden path in Nightmare of Mensis. I'll take a screen when I get home this evening, I'm pretty happy with these runes :o

Yeah so... Rom.

What a bastard.

Only boss in this game that made me shout at my screen. He's such an asshole.

How do I get to the optional bosses around cathedral ward? And how do I reach Upper cathedral ward.

Is this before or after
Rom
? I looked evreywhere near Cathedral Ward but no bossfight there :(

The boss trilogy of
The One Reborn, Amygdala and Micolash
is pushover city. Did not die once, which is a Souls first for me. Gotta try E
brietas
again to remind me what game I'm playing.

Edit: might have been a tad overleveled for Amy, the enemies in NF where weaksauce.

Yup.
I killed One Reborn second time without even realising I could go up the stairs and kill the women chucking balls of doom at me.

The last handful more than make up for it. The final boss is probably my favorite fight in the series (moreso than Allant, Flamelurker, or Artorias).

To me it almost feels like the optional bosses are the tougher one's. Eg
Ebriteas and Maryr Logarius
were the toughest for me.

I did that because a note told me to. Gave me a bit of a Tower Knight vibe.

Actually make that four wet towels in a row, since I beat
Space
Pinwheel right before
The One
. But a bit of a breather boss wise can't hurt, and they were still nicely done.

Feels like it, though the S
hadows
were some work. ML is my favourite boss so far, 10/10, from setting to challenge to design.

I definitely am playing this game in the wrong order.
the whole path up to witch of Fenwick and the boss fight it self was a cake walk and you get little reward.
should had come this way a lot earlier on.

The pinwheel of this game is not
the witches
. They can one shot players at slightly lower level.

Its the hilarious Boss before
Ebrietas.

M
aryr Logarius
is giving me some serious trouble right now.

He just throws a crapload of magic at me, when I try to approach him. Rarely have a chance to even hit him once. I guess parrying is the key here. Never really used it much before aside from BSB.

Lol... Did the above in the wrong order for sure.. Cause now I can use the
ruin workshop tool
... Fifty hours into the game.. ;p

Yeap. That guy forced me to change the way I play, and take things far slower, and more considered than usual. Was annoying to die so many times when most other bosses I felt were pretty easy or manageable, but it was certainly highly rewarding. Dreading doing it again in NG+ though….

tonitrus worth using?
Worth upgrading?

Seems like a cool weapon. First elemental weapon I have found too.

its very good and god tier if you build str also works wonder as a shoter but quicker weapon from let's say, Kirk or two hands builds, to have a good secondary alt weapon

So far I've got 8 bosses down and now I need to decide whether to do
castle cainhurst or Yahar'gul unseen village.

I've heard a lot of horror stories about
the unseen village
so I think
Cainhurst will be my next mission
. Are there any NPC storylines that can be started/completed/advanced while I'm there?

Also I've yet to start the Chalice dungeons despite being level 80 now. Is it better to get the early ones out of the way now or just wait to near enough endgame/NG and do the lot?

You mean W
itches of
H
emlock
? Cause you dont need to beat R
om
for that. Just take the left road when walking up the cathedral staircases. Youre gonna be in a forest, leading to that said boss.

But to reach upper cathedral I think you do need to beat R. first.

The enemies outside
Cainhurst are pretty rough, prob best to run past them. The boss can be hard unless you are good at parrying. There is a NPC storyline you can start there ;) I won't mention much less.
you should prob start doing the chalice dungeon as well. I think for you, depth 1 and 2, maybe 3 will be easy. Depth 4 and 5 are pretty rough.
Edit: I didnt start depth 3 till ng+. Personally depth 3 was pretty easy as a level 100ish. But depth 4, currently level 111, can be rough if you're not careful since the enemies hit hard and a boss took down ~55% of my hp in a single hit.

Nice one buddy. I did face off against
a couple of those lobster/spider/insect guys outside Cainhurst and managed to kill a few but took a fair amount of damage. Guess I'll just avoid them for now.

I may start the dungeons this weekend when I have the time for a good run at them.

edit: sorry forgot to spoiler tag my post.

I believe Unseen Village is best to go first. The boss there is way easier, and besides the level being pretty annoying you can run past most of the problems till you reach a safer zone and understand the environment better.

Cainhurst
can be very tough aswell. And the 1st enemies on that area are one of the strongest regular enemies in the entire game.

Thanks, will try tonight.

You can ignore all the spiders. They will give up chasing you once you're far enough in the bridge.
But there's a
hunter waiting you
so watch out.

Yeah, I tried that. But then I got gangraped by the spiders and the
hunter on the bridge
anyway lol.
