I had Abhorrent Beast down to less than 5%. I fucking had him down to less than 5%. I was on a fucking roll.

And the the worst possible thing that could happen happened.

My controller died.

My goddamn controller chose to die mere seconds away from victory.

I had to turn away as it mercilessly killed my hunter. Enjoy your cheap ass victory!

I couldn't reach my backup DS4 in time. Bastard can kiss my ass! I ain't going back any time soon.

Ha oh man that is my worst nightmare

go to the Cathedral Ward. head out the left door and go to the courtyard with those 2 giant axe carrying dudes. On the left side of the courtyard you will see another pathway. Keep going through there, tell the dude at the door the new password you learned from the cutscene with Amelia and you will then be able to go into the Forest

Or, by talking to citizens you can get a key that will unlock the way through that right pathway where you die from frenzy each time to gain access to a whole new area.

Thanks. VA never really talked so I didn't hear a password or anything.

I don't know guys, Chalice Dungeons are obviously a little undercooked, but the foundation it's building up to is kinda insane to me. If a BloodBorne 2 builds on top of what they already made and expand the scope: Build Variety (Weapons Combinations Skill/Spells), Enemy/Boss Variety, Dungeon Design, Party Mechanics, this would be insane.

I still say a Blood Borne with Build Variety of Demon's Souls (and Boss Variety in terms of uniquely designed) with Raid Mechanics would mean I wouldn't have to play other games ever again, especially with Gems coming out to give that fucking Diablo itch to maximize my character potential.

I def had a "what if Dark Souls 3 has a 2-4 player party oriented optional dungeon where you summon at the start and do the whole thing together?" feeling last night and my mind boggled at the thought. They are clearly experimenting here with something that could end up being a souls MMORPG, which if done correctly would consume my life.

I think part of the appeal of the chalice dungeons (at least for me) is the almost MMO-type feel of the bosses. I have had more trouble with high level chalice bosses than any of the game proper bosses. And when you die, it is just a straight run to the boss, no trash mobs. There have been a couple bosses that have keep me up later than I would have liked, but I wasn't about to go to bed without a kill and find myself pressing on to see the loot and what comes next.

There seem to be more loot in chests in the higher level chalices also. I actually don't mind the chalice mats in the chests, the mobs themselves drop some nice gems, it would be nice if there were more weapons in chests, but I did pick up a +20% stamina glyph last night from a chest, so the higher level ones definitely seem to have some loot tucked away. Quite of number of them have had blood gems...I just wish there were more non-elemental gems, sick of damp tampering fire gem and odd tampering damp bolt gems.

my first chunk in a chalice. that came way too late.

my condolences.

I honestly found it easier when I
left the bell maidens alone
for some reason.

I just beat that boss last night and I was doing pretty good damage to start so I opted to just stay on the boss. I had to dodge behind him a few times but it worked out pretty good.

DS2 really had NG+ on lockdown. No idea why they didn't adopt that philosophy going forward.

I mentioned this on the previous page, but it seems like the DS2 and Bloodborne teams had nearly no cross collaboration. Both game's strengths and weaknesses are nearly opposite of each other, and I think both would have benefited from taking ideas from the other.

Now its for real... I can't beat Gherman. I just can't...
I may have 3 hours or more trying to kill that stupid boss with no success.. I have already almost killed him 2 or 3 times. But at the end he is just too damn appellative.

I will try co-op only now. Or I just won't ever touch this shit again.

What weapon are you using? I used the axe in its long form and never parried. Just start dodging/rolling as soon as he starts to get close to attacking. How much HP do you have?

Dang, you still haven't killed him, yet. I would help, but I have to head out soon.
Boy does that giant ball & chain dude murder my ass. Tips?

Dodge toward him. You will end up behind him for some easy butt hits. In general, always dodge toward the monster.

What specifically does DS2 do that Bloodborne doesnt? Better NG+, warping between bonfires and overall harder bosses imo? I have finished both but I havent played any dlc for DS2 yet. Getting the remaster today though since I beat Bloodborne yesterday.

I'm using Axe. I parry him until he changes to blade, then I found a way to attack him, and without that much of a trouble I can get him to half HP... but then he transforms and I can't do anything but get kicked. I tried parrying with no luck so I changed to dual wield, I have better chances but still not enough.

I'm using Axe aswell. My HP is 1155. I'm at Level 77.

Defiled chalice is awful. The enemies even fistbump after mauling me :(

Amygdala
in the Defiled chalice can get fucked. Stayed up till 1:30am to beat that sob. I didn't know From Software made a stealth game. I mean that whole chalice was sneakin games all the way through.

So, unless someone can show me a quote from the developers saying there is no world tendency, the game freaking has one.

My friend and I played last night and found the game much harder than it had been on Sunday. Anyone else find the game harder yesterday?

Ugh I need a break from this fight. If him summoning the sword stuff at a stupid rate in NG+ isn't enough to kill you, the horrible slowdown will definitely do you in. They should have tested this part more or something, the slowdown there was really bad.

I may have been a little over leveled for it, I had around 1500 hp lvl 90 or so. I was able to pull off a few of the R2 Axe charges as well and made a concious effort to keep my stamina bar up so I could dodge a bunch of times in a row when he started teleporting.

Parry, you must parry! Took me several attempts to get the timing down.

Also, please edit spoilers my friend.

Honestly the enviorments in this game are amazing. Ive started playing DS2 aswell and its so bland in that regard compared to this, still fun though=)

Dark Souls 2 has more bullshit bosses. The DLC bosses are good. A few of Vanilla Dark Souls 2 bosses are good.

Because everyone is solo'ing everything

Chalice Dungeons were built with Co-Op in mind.

I've enjoyed my time with them. Created 3 so far and searched and loaded up someone elses. Co-Op is just plain fun in this game altogether though. I like the secret passages and little hidden stuff in the chalice dungeons. And like everything within this game, love the atmosphere.

Could have fooled me. Co-Op in this game is the absolute worst shit in any game.

Ring a bell WITH a pass code of someone standing next to you and wait 15+ minutes? Yeah no. Plus in a chalice dungeon they have to be on the same floor as you already, so if you want help on your dungeons they need to be caught up to your floor which is generally floor 3 you want it for.

He was a pain in the ass. He's really easy to parry, and most of the fight I didn't have much trouble with him. But after
he's enraged, the move he does where he jumps in the air and throws his scythe kept one-shot killing me. Such fucking bullshit when he does that after I had only 2-3 hits left to finish him. I really wish FromSoftware would stop giving bosses moves that instant kill and are near impossible to dodge. I beat him the one time I got lucky and he didn't do that move. Actually, I think he kind of bugged out the last 5% of his health for me, because I remember just circling him and relentlessly hitting him to death while he kind of just stood there.

Smelter Demon took me forever as well as the one in the sewer (cant remember his name, fought him too early...found that out later).

Darklurkker was the hardest boss for me to get down of all the souls games, yes I was pure melee.

NG+, as you said. I don't consider bonfire warping a plus, but the bonfire system in general is leagues better than the lanterns - they should just refresh your supplies and respawn enemies. More build variety, but that goes without saying. They handled estus better than any game in the series, even though they knocked it off balance with life gems.

I tend to leave my controllers charging overnight. I didn't play yesterday but my brother did. He must have forgotten to plug it in last night.

I don't feel like going back anyway. That last bout broke me. I had it.
