yikes, having nightmare fueling experiences in this chalice dungeon. Those summoned spiders....
What's the best way to deal with them when there are about eight of them that keep respawning? I need about 3 hits to kill them so I'm having a feeling I'm underleveled for this. (it's only layer 4 dungeon too)
They respawn as fast I can kill the next ones so I just can't progress to the maidens T.T
I've tried running past the spiders but then the werewolves just reck me. #1stWorldProblems

you need to just try and run through and kill the maidens asap. ignore them. if werewolf is in the way, try luring it back and killing it first.

Shouldn't the fact that I'm getting higher attack gains from levelling up skill than going past softcap on strength offset that a bit and give me more choice in what weapons to use?

Depends on the level layout, but I try to run them into a room, run around them and make a b-line to the maidens, takes a moment for werewolves to respond usually, but it depends on his placement and the maidens placement. There is one chalice where there are two maidens that is probably why there are so many, but they should be close together.
Yeah, they are usually sleeping, all their heads pop up simultaneously and they look around quick with a great amount of concern, a couple head to the bedroom to go under the bed.
Haven't done chalices, but a str/skill build is perfect for ludwigs.
I am 90% sure some dude who had inside information about the guide leaked it. This was on Gamefaqs.

The werewolf is bout halfway over to the bellmaidens so first i somehow need to survive the spiders up to there only to have that blasted thing on my ass too haha
Think I'll just try level my vit a bit so I can survive the run to the maidens.
On a unrelated note, does anyone know if molotov cocktails scale with Arcane? I've got molotovs stashed away but with them only doing 150 damage I don't see any point in using them anymore

Just started cracking into the Chalice dungeons (Think I waited too long as I'm blowing through the layers). I cannot get enough of this game. It's amazing how much it has to offer.

So I got the red brooch but had already beaten Gascagione before visiting the little girl, so I never got the music box. Does this change the story/end in any way?
He gives a nice glyph, think it is the 15% stam one. (If you don't kill him and chose the appropriate dialogue.)

The Doll is alive the first time you go to Hunters Dream via a lantern.
Lol I killed him as well the first time I played. I just stabbed him thinking he is the enemy (and spiders are awful).

It has nothing to do with CB, but how much insight you have. You need at least one for her to be awake.

Yes but even with 99 insight she'll not be awake the first time you get to hunters. Gotta find the first lamp.
I think if you have a hunters mark and initiate the cleric beast fight and just use the mark to zone out, she should be alive and able to talk to her. You should have plenty of time to use the mark as soon as he comes down during his intro, worked for me.

I think it is. The Evelyn scales in Bloodtinge all the way to S and I don't think the hunter's pistol does that.
Hits like a truck (though not as much as cannon), the problem is there's only one trick weapon that uses bloodtinge. If you don't count the trick weapons with gun modes.
I just did it and I had to face Cleric Beast for her to be alive again. I killed him, pretty sure it works just like new game where she will be alive when you gain your first insight (dying to or killing cleric beast). I didnt try a madmens knowledge though. That might work.
Hit him until his HP is 0. *edit* sorry thats terrible advice.

Go the start of the castle where the Hunter stood in front of and the first little dudes walked around. There is a small elevator in the place with the pit falls.

melia i guess? Go to the hunters dream, there you can buy the hunter chief emblem, it opens one of the big doors in the cathedral ward that will lead you to one of the available bosses.. there is also a way to get there without the emblem but i wont tell
