I'd put on some HP runes if you don't have them on already, I was able to have a small sliver left if I got hit by it with them on.

tonight. She kicked my ass. She didn't seem like she would be that bad if I could damage her more, but my +3 saw cleaver wasn't doing much damage. I went and bought Ludwigs Sword and upgraded to +3. Will that be better against her? I'm only level 29 or so, so maybe I need to grind a bit?

I believe you need to have created the chalice in the first place, so you can't just skip to an end one or something.

Just be sure to bring sedatives and wear a frenzy resist rune on the way there. Also dont miss the +18% attack blood gem along the way ; )
I beat her at 24 but I found her really hard the first time, leveling does seem extremely powerful against her as being able to stagger her fucks her up.
If you haven't yet,
you can go to another area before her. Head left before going up into her cathedral

don't get too excited, from fucked up the chalice dungeons co op. You each need to alternate each time you beat one of the bosses as the person disappears right after you beat one.

Is there a way to make enemies respawn when farming without warping to the Hunters Dream and back?

the issue with her is that this is the boss that forces you to dodge at the right time. Not before or you'll get hit. She telegraphs her attacks very well, so just learn to dodge so you do it right before something is supposed to hit you.
When she starts
healing just spam the R2 attack, even when she's recovering. You'll stagger her and eventually each time you do it you can do a visceral attack.
It's giving me a chuckle.
Great advice. I was using +Stam, + Health and +4%DR IIRC. Also set up armor accordingly.
Need to do the math and find out what the actual best runes are.
That boss is HARD.

I played mostly unlocked and trying to stay near the back leg. Even doing all of that I still died many times. I took a break and when I came back I had some magic super dodge going on. It's weird when everything just clicks and you decimate an encounter.
There are harder bosses coming up.

I've heard a rumour that you can use the shield to block them. I don't think this is the case, but don't have time to check it out myself.
Otherwise, you need to equip armour with high frenzy resistance, have some sedatives on hand, and try to stay behind the rocks to rest when possible.

Get killed/kill yourself nearby to the lamp. You'll skip one of the two load screens and pick up your souls when you come back

yes. Use the bold hunter's mark. It reloads the entire area and send you to the lamp you most recently utilized.
Saves a ton of time. However at 1200 echos a piece that are not worth it until mid to late NG.

The one with the head? Stay between his legs. When he winds up for the bitch slap, unlock from him and roll towards him just as he releases the punch so that you're under him and can get some good hits. He is one of my favorite bosses.
Ok, I did that and im in his dungeon in the same room but we can't see each other. He saw my specter...do i still need to ring the bell? Why the hell...

he is there. you will know you are close when you are in a room where you can easily fall and there are 2 angry guys who try to kill you with a meatcleaver.

There cannot be harder bosses than this. This is the cheapest shit in the game by a very wide margin. I have soloed everything up to this point and this is the first time where I feel like it's almost completely impossible and for cheap reasons. The camera is terrible, you can't lock on to the legs, you can wiff a swing directly under it because of how tall it stands, etc. I am 30 attempts in now and its simply not fun. The previous hard bosses in the game I had a very solid natural understanding of what I was doing wrong, including on the normal version of this same boss, but now, I feel like it's unfair rather than hard.
Edit: and my favorite thing is when it breaks the lock on by jumping, so instead of fast dodging I involuntarily roll, botching the dodge and taking 70% damage right out the gate.

AUGH instead of using my time tonight to get further with my main Im over here creating new characters and running through the intro and having too much fun at the start again. Beat the Cleric Beast in one try finally! Almost best Father Gascoigne in one shot too but that beast form is rough and I had not leveled up any yet lol.

Yes. And it can take awhile(too me ~3-5 minutes even while seeing them).
The co-op setup is kinda trash for chalice, to put it lightly. Which is a shame.
I know the 10% one is in the Nightmare Frontier but I don't know how to give directions in that confusing ass place.

I just did the fight on NG+ and I've got a strategy worked out. I'm uploading it but my upload speed is terrible. The general idea is bait her into coming to you with the jump smash, dodge it and hit her in the ass. Don't get close.

It is but with some cheesing, it's the best for early echoes. Other then that, I'm not too sure. I'd probably equip the more echoes runes and just find a quick route.

I can't beat cleric beast. I have beat every thing in the level, even the armored dude at the gate near the beginning, but not cleric beast. I use the cane, and just farm the level to raise my level. My question is (I am level 18), do you increase the difficulty of the monsters or does the game level as I level? Also.... Do you only improve stats? Can you unlock abilities as you level?
